With all the hype for Rogue One it might be possible that you missed this absolute fucking gem of a fan film that took first in the Star Wars fan film contest. The score is fantastic, the humanization of stormtroopers is on point, acting is well not the best (monologue wise) in my opinion there could of been a bit more emotion to it, but it gets the job done and really shines in character interactions. Otherwise it's perfection. I give it a high grade 9.5 out of 10

The reason why I liked this is because of the ending.

After I saw the girl die, I was convinced this was going to end in a very cliched manner, where Adam (I think that's his name) turns to the Rebellion and screams to the skies, promising vengeance upon the Empire. I was very happy to see the exact opposite happen. It goes against the mold, and that's perfect.

Like Asimer said, the ending was heart warming and brutally cold at the same time. But, it gives a little insight on the life of a recruit stormtrooper.
