The Blue Flame has been open to the public now for eighteen years. Over that time, many members of the staff have come and go. Many return to visit with old friends and colleagues, but Shenn is well aware that his place is just a stop on the journey for most that come through his doors, even the people who work there. Shenn believes that his job as owner is to make his employees tenure an enjoyable one, where they are supported, have the ability to learn, and can ultimately choose their own path. In return, he has seen overwhelmingly positive results, and only a handful of failures. He too, knows that he will always have much to learn, and that no circumstance is ever completely predictable or solvable. But, he does his best, and that's all anyone can ask, right?

- Description: At its most basic, this is a day-to-day job. If these folks want to show up, do their work, collect their checks, and go home, they are free to do just that. There is no greater obligation that Shenn requires from his team. That said, Shenn would like to think that his employees generally enjoy their work, and that starts with creating a positive environment, being proud of the products they sell, having clear expectations, while still allowing the flexibility for fun. Employees are provided with benefits, generous pay (the wait staff is not reliant on tips to make a living), and the knowledge that Big Boss Rosham has their back. As a result, Shenn has managed to surround himself with a trustworthy team, dedicated to their work, and all willing to do their part for the "family."

- Description: The full-timer who primarily works the late shift. Isqi was a professional, deep sea game hunter. Travelling the galaxy, he made a name for himself for the catches he brought in as well as taking thrill-seekers on an unusual sort of safari. Gradually, though, he found fewer buyers for his trophies and fewer clients for deep sea tours as interest moved elsewhere. He still dives several times per year, but the job at the Blue Flame helps him finance those expeditions which he now does for fun instead of for profit. Still in incredible shape, he begrudgingly has Dreva give him workout tips to keep himself in diving shape while spending most of his time living on land. Despite his often brusque attitude, he is far less isolationist than many of his brethren, as his travels have opened him up to cultures all over the galaxy. His pride still gets in the way.

- Description: The full-timer who primarily works the mid shift. Dreva was a former weight-lifter and trainer working for at a private gym. It was at that gym that she met her husband, Galaté. When they first got together, she took a second job part-time to help support Galaté's competitive career and so they would have the financial stability to move in together. That second job was at the Blue Flame, which was in need of some added security help thanks to rising popularity in the twilight hours. Eventually, when children started entering the couple's picture, Dreva moved to work full-time at the Blue Flame in order to have more financial security and to better schedule around Galaté's matches, making sure someone was always at home watching the kids. Her rugrats are often seen running around the bar during the day, and they are just as fiery and fiercely independent as their mother.

- Description: The part-timer who fills in as need arises. A competitive shockboxer, this is Galaté's second job. Despite his profession, the Togruta is a big softie. He's married to Dreva and got the job at Blue Flame thanks to her. They met while training in the same gym together and, after several years of marriage, have three children. Galaté now trains mostly at home while watching the younglings, and picks up shifts whenever his wife isn't working, and he's not competing. He often has treats in his pockets which some of the younger crowd who visit Shenn's restaurant have picked up on. He is easy to persuade into sharing.

- Role: Chef
- Description: The full-timer who works the brunch, lunch and prep for dinner shifts. Rather grisly, Koop's respect is hard won. A former private of Shenn's, Shenn reached out to the Herglic when opening the restaurant, knowing of the man's talent at making even the worst rations taste like a real, home-cooked meal. While not necessarily the best recipe for success in owning a restaurant, Shenn came to find that Koop's talents with rations came from an overall talent in the kitchen, and Koop was glad to work for someone he didn't want to throttle. Still has a habit of saying "Yes, sir" anytime Shenn asks him to do something. Shenn has stopped asking him to quit.

- Species: Ortolan male
- Role: Chef
- Description: The full-timer who primarily works the dinner shift and makes the bar bites. Tel is a bubbly and happy-go-lucky fellow. He isn't overly talkative but does enjoy conversations with anyone who will give him the time of day. He isn't particularly concerned with the state of the galaxy nor is he really all that intelligent by any means outside of cooking, music, and food in general. His mood only ever shifts when he gets upset over missing a meal, sad over eating the last bite, and frustrated at running out of foodstuffs. Otherwise, he is a very relaxed, bumbling, blue ball. He started working at the Blue Flame full-time a few years ago after his friends Mir, Kur, and Stannon decided to set up a permanent residence on Denon. Shenn, an old friend, was more than happy to have the brilliant chef make food for the Blue Flame, despite having to convince Koop of the Ortolan's brilliance.

- Age: 18
- Species: Human female
- Role: Chef
- Description: The part-timer being trained by Koop during the first part of her shift and then is tasked with keeping Tel on task, or at least she tries. Odri's greatest desire is to become the best chef that Denon has ever seen. She was always a foodie growing up, but when she came to the Blue Flame as a teenager and ordered "Tel's Choice," she knew she had to study with whoever could come up with such inventive, well-executed, and visually stunning cuisine, not realizing that Tel, the Ortolan chef, was not much of a teacher. When she returned to apprentice a few years later, she was disappointed to discover this, but was assured that watching Tel's unpredictable cooking would be even better with her around. She could learn the basics from Koop, a formidable chef in his own right, and be Tel's handler otherwise. Recording Tel's recipes, the good and the bad, became an education of its own. And, in so doing, she kept the bumbling Ortolan from eating (too much of) his own cooking.

- Description: The full-timer who works primarily in the evening to early morning. Meeno is always quiet and contemplative. Some might say he was brooding if not for his impeccable posture. No one can question his intelligence though, as you can name just about any drink in the galaxy and he can come up with some kind of approximation with what Shenn keeps on hand. But he hardly spares a word or a glance. Most of his responses are slow nods, tilts, and shakes of his head. And most of his idle time is spent carefully polishing the glassware. On a slow night, patrons might not see him move much at all. So it's always a surprise to see him work with such calculated efficiency when the bar is packed and Meeno doesn't miss an order. Known only to a few, he has secretly been courting Namnenil for a few years.

- Age: 23
- Species: Devaronian female
- Role: Bartender/Waitress
- Description: Works full-time, primarily on the bar in the mornings and days when Meeno isn't around. She fills in on the floor as need arises. Cichei was born on Denon, unlike many of her kind. She had been left in an orphanage there by an unknown Devaronian man, presumably the father. Cichei would later discover that her mother was born a slave and taken from Devaron. After bearing a child to the man, a member of the syndicate that had enslaved her mother, the father took pity on his daughter and secreted her away from the syndicate. Despite a difficult origin and upbringing in the orphanage, Cichei has always been as positive as can be, taking any negative and finding a way to turn it around. She met Shenn when she was thirteen, going door to door from business to business in Seven Corners to raise money for the orphanage. Her persistently smiling face and upbeat attitude would have melted Hoth. Shenn was probably the only business owner in the district to make a donation, and he offered a job to the teenager if she wanted it. Even now that she is on her own and can afford her own room, a good portion of her salary still goes to the orphanage where she grew up, and she hopes to take over running the place one day.

- Role: Waiter
- Description: The part-timer who fills in various shifts during peak hours. Suave and charming, The young man initially was a patron who visited the establishment with his upper-middle-class parents. Looking down on their choice of eatery, Zujo didn't look far past his own nose. The parents, though, were old friends of Shenn, and supplied several cases of Falleen liquors over the years to the bar. Having just come from Falleen to work on Denon, Zujo had grown with the typical prejudice of their people, despite the Balloj's best efforts. Bringing Zujo to the Blue Flame was a bit of a setup, as Shenn had agreed to try and help the parents break their son of his elitism. Shenn goaded the young man into a bet: if Shenn could resist the young man's pheromones, then Shenn gets a command in return; lose and Zujo gets a meal for free at any upper-class restaurant on Denon, paid for by Shenn. Zujo lost, not able to sway Shenn's mind (and unaware that Shenn had practiced with his parents). Shenn's command was to work at the Blue Flame until Zujo learned what it was he was lacking. Of course, being the eccentric old man, Shenn did not say anything about the boy learning a sense of respect for others, instead leaving it vague for Zujo to find out on his own. With guidance from Shenn and Nam, he's been growing slightly less arrogant, but he still has a long way to go. His poor tips are a definite source of inspiration (and frustration).

- Role: Waiter
- Description: The full-timer who works primarily at brunch, lunch and early dinner. Puck was a street rat when he first came to the Blue Flame. Thinking he could make a quick credit, Puck attempted to pickpocket the old man (Shenn). He was quite unsuccessful. Rather than scold the lad, Shenn put him to work bussing tables. Nine years later, Puck's able hands have been put to better use. Popular among new spacers and slicers, Puck is always giving (bad) advice on the next greatest scheme. He still has a lot to learn, but he knows the Blue Flame in and out.

- Species: Human female
- Role: Waitress
- Description: The full-timer who works primarily around late lunch through dinner and late night. Nam is rather like the "mom" of the entire crew. She's been a part of the staff ever since Shenn opened the place. After having a daughter at a young age, she initially needed the work just to get by and had come to Shenn after having spent the past several years hopping from job to job. However, the job security and benefits that Shenn offered as well as the proprietor's kind and giving nature ended up winning her over into making a career out of it, even now that her daughter is grown and offplanet at university. She's done a little bit of everything over just less than two decades of working there, but likes waiting tables the best. She's extroverted, caring, and considerate, just like the mom you always wish you had. She is secretly hoping Meeno will propose in the near future.
