OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To establish and track information regarding the GADF Army squad that Makani Kandor Makani Kandor is a member of, since they are likely to be reoccurring characters.
  • Image Credit: Original image by Hanonaut | Recolour done by me.
  • Role: This unit is a rank & file GADF Army infantry squad, dispatched to conduct operations wherever additional manpower is required. It would be strange for Pvt. Makani to be deployed to combat zones as an individual, so this team exists to accompany him and allow his appearance in missions to make more narrative sense.
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Unit Name: GADF Army Shocktroopers - Squad Ranseur
  • Affiliation: Galactic Alliance | GADF Army
  • Classification: Infantry
  • Description: The whole squad are equipped with standard GADF Shocktrooper armour accented in steel-blue, most notably with a large stripe running vertically up the centre of the suit. They have no unique squad iconography, but proudly wear the GA crest on their right shoulder. In battle, the squad operate with quiet discipline - reliable and precise, but not likely to leap into spontaneous heroics without a direct order. Most of the squad are still inexperiencd and lacking independence, relying heavily on the guidance of their squad leader.
COMBAT INFORMATION:
  • Unit Size: Small
  • Unit Availability: Unique
  • Unit Experience: Recruit
  • Equipment: The squad are armed with DC-15A blaster rifles and DC-17 blaster pistols, as well as a comfortable supply of thermal detonators, medpacs, basic multitools and other standard-issue GADF equipment. The squad may also have access to a small quantity of RPS-6 rocket launchers and DLT-19 heavy blaster rifles when deemed appropriate. Current squad lead Sgt. Amelie Valance carries a modified version of the standard rifle with a faster rate of fire, larger capacity, and shorter barrel. All weapons listed are subject to change pending GADF standard armoury review.
  • Combat Function: Squad Ranseur were raised as shocktroopers - frontline infantry whose primary function are as line holders and objective takers. They are quite reliant on support to complete their objectives though, since they are designed to operate within a larger military structure rather than as an independent strike force. Sergeant Valance drives the squad to be precise and disciplined above all else, willing and able to carry out orders and trusting in their commanders, whether it's herself or a more senior figure taking the reigns.
  • Force Abilities: None
Strengths:

+ Motivated:
Patriotism for the GA amongst Ranseur's members is high. They all joined up voluntarily to fight in its defence, and have been inspired by the support of jedi knights and special forces soldiers during recent deployments.

+ Strong Leader: The squad are currently led by an experienced sergeant - a veteran of the Second Hyperspace War. While she is in control, the squad can prove to be surprisingly effective combatants.

Weaknesses:

- Green:
On paper, Squad Ranseur has seen many battles, but right now the majority of its active personnel are fresh out of basic training. They could easily crumble under pressure if they're caught unprepared.

- Regulars: Squad Ranseur are not commandos, pathfinders, or marines. They are frontline troopers, the backbone of the GADF, not specialised in any particular form of combat. This fact also makes requisitioning advanced weapons and equipment a difficult task. Additional support will more often than not be issued at the discretion of senior officers, rather than at the request of the squad itself.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

While several teams of varying notoriety have held the name during the long history of the Alliance, the first modern iteration of Squad Ranseur was raised during the Second Hyperspace War under Sergeant Mya Lyris. Many similar units had been established in response to a surge in new recruits at the onset of the conflict, but they were intended mostly for second-line and garrison duties while the bulk of the fighting was left to more experienced formations. However, the considerable threat posed by the Brotherhood of the Maw placed many such units on the front lines instead. Squad Ranseur fought defensive actions during the Desecration of Jedha, emerging heavily mauled but hardened. They went on to serve throughout the ensuing GA offensive, most notably taking part in the mission to liberate Empress Teta. By the end of the conflict, only two of the squad's original members remained in active service: sergeant Mya Lyris and corporal Amelie Valance - who started the war as a private. She would not end the war a corporal either, being hastily promoted to sergeant after the Alliance's victory on Exegol, when it was discovered that Mya had disappeared without warning.

Amelie worked briefly at the GADF's training facility at Balmorran System Command, but has recently returned to frontline service following incursions from the Mandalorian Enclave into Alliance space. She has taken up the task of rebuilding Ranseur from the ground up, taking on her own batch of rookies, aiming to mould them into an exceptional combat unit through her wealth of experience.

I love this submission. Unfortunately since units like this are used in PvP settings we cannot allow generalizations on equipment such as this:
other standard-issue GADF equipment

If there is certain gear you do wish to use from GADF then you will need to link any and all appropriate submissions.

I am also going to ask you hyperlink all equipment listed to their associated wookieepedia articles as well.

Thanks!
