This video is a fantastic breakdown of what real world warfare in space would look like. Among other things it relates to why the 150km range for turbolasers is complete shit, why missiles would be the dominant weapon in space, how detection works, so on and so forth.
But it's not how Star Wars works. As the guy mentions at the end, if such a technique were common place or acceptable there would be no other weapons. Why bother when all you need is a paperclip to turn any other ship into so much space dust. Furthermore ships have shields, and in fact there's an article somewhere out there that mentions the only reason it works is because the Supremacy uses the same 'phased shields' (or some other technobabble nonsense) as Starkiller Base, which can be penetrated by something moving at lightspeed. The implication therein is that functional shields would otherwise prevent such a thing from happening.
The last factor to consider is that an RKKV able to do something even remotely similar to what the Raddus does would easily qualify as a superweapon, so it's simply banned by the rules.
tl;dr: If you want Star Wars style space battles, you can't have the above. Full stop.
