DESCRIPTION
For the needs of the Battlefleet Vandemar it was necessary to know where and when to strike, who and how many were there and what exactly were they bringing. Those were vital information which needed to provided fast and possibly at all times. Hence why Aresian Naval Engineering developed the Speculatores Recon Drone, an unmanned space-craft designed for the single purpose of entering systems, scanning and either remaining there or continuing to the next. It was as much an exploration craft as it was a reconnaissance and scouting drone. Usually deployed in units of four, they spread their sensoratory overview by spreading out: one remained in the outer system, one in the inner system and the other two either tried to get as close to the target as possible, either space or ground. Their live-transmission would directly be transferred to fleet command and the ship they were sent from. As they were cheap to produce and absolutely expandable, it was not a big deal to some insight for the loss of a small drone.
