Description:

Seeing the galaxy heading closer to open warfare again, the design team at Aurora Industries's Droid Division began work on something that could support troops or special forces in the field. Dubbed the Sparrow Drone, the new droid is designed to be an operative or soldiers best friend in the field.

Weighing eight kilograms, the weight of a normal backpack, and only measuring forty-five centimeters in height, the droid folds up and is designed to be worn on the back of a soldier's or operative's back for ease of deployment. When deployed the droid has a number of functions that can help an ally in need. Armed with two light blaster cannons, the Sparrow can provide some combat aid, but it is not truly meant to fight an enemy. Instead, the Sparrow comes equipped with certain support technologies and capabilities, all powered by two of Aurora Industries's proprietary Sianium technology.

The droid can link the composite radiation sensors and sonar it uses to see to its deployer's HUD device, giving them a more comprehensive view of an objective or battlefield. The Sparrow is also equipped with a small shield projector that it can use to place a shield over an ally or itself that can last thirty seconds before recharge or seven seconds under fire before recharge. It also comes equipped with a holoprojector and transmission receiver to allow command to talk with forces in the field or to display objectives. In case of injury, it also has a small storage compartment with an emergency medpac.

Ion weaponry and EMPs will fry the droid, as per usual, and there is also a risk that if the power cores are ruptured, they will explode in a freezing blast similar to Cryoban grenades. As noted above, the Sparrow is also not meant to directly engage an enemy or it probably won't last long.
