Description:
With Whyren's distillery moving into creating meads, interest came at the various types of honey and bees available in the galaxy. While true to Corellian roots, there was no denying that previously to the Gulag plague, the remnants of the New Galaxy Building plan had touched the Corellian sector with a brief brush with Yuuzhan Vong tech. Among those, were Spark bees.
Rare to find, much like a nuisance it was, they would cause random bouts of damage here and there, especially to fields. With more of the Yuuzhan Vong showing up in earnest and more of their Vong created tech spreading, the need to contain these bees or eradicate them became a necessity.
In this came the discovery of the nature of the Spark Bee honey, and one with plenty of crazy ideas to boot, Mal decided to try an create beehives that could contain the Spark Bees. He came up with this contraption.
Crafted of a mix of transparasteel, durasteel, and plasteel, the beehive shaped hives would be as large as a grainery. The combined components would be used to keep the spark bees within it's confines, the secure double entry ensuring that one door would not open until the other has been closed, thus preventing any sparkbees from flying out.
Within it, small vents would allow smoke to enter from a small fireplace specifically designed to suit the beehive, so as to calm the bees prior to entering. Various transparasteel mesh nets would flow throughout the chimney to in theory, prevent the spark bees from exiting. All of this to be situated upon the shallow local lakes over water, and above that, another large transparasteel dome.
While one would hope this would keep them contained, there was no guarantee -- they were sparkbees after all. Trial and error and testing will only reveal if they are able to withstand long term use of the sparkbees and their honey.
