- Fires scan darts. Each dart is a high-powered single-use miniature scanner capable of detecting all individuals and droids within a ten- to fifteen-meter radius (depending on obstacles). The semi-unique Mark Z version can even see through cloaking devices and comparable stealth technology.

The Spacer Guild Scan Dart Launcher, also known as the Peephole Special, is a stubby little nonlethal 'firearm' carried as backup kit.
A millennium ago, scan dart technology was fairly easy to come by. The Rebel Alliance used it frequently against the Galactic Empire, for example. These little beauties were sadly lost during the Dark Age. However, the Spacer Guild rediscovered a Rebel Alliance cache and renewed the scan dart technology.
The Guild distributed Scan Dart Launchers to its members for boarding and counter-boarding operations; they are also immensely useful for securing landing facilities and navigating complex structures.
