Something of Value

Emberlene's Daughter, The Jedi Generalist
Location: Cloud Nine

THe small patch of land that Matsu had been able to get on the world was a nice place and why not bring in some of the really fun things.... Plus she bought this place needed to use it for something as the large grand entryway was filled with plants leading down into what she was hoping would be the nice thing. Plenty of space to display their things. She had sent out a mass invite to different companies and they had a chance to display all of their things here with the awesome Heinkel who came highly recommended.

Yes she was liking the idea of a booth babe trained by ancient booth babes at conventions to display and show off the products. The others well some were people she knew who liked to buy and trade or find ways to improve upon technology. Others she had been keeping eyes on for interest because they might have made something cool here or there. Like the reactor from Bloodworks or weapons and ammunition from Deathtech. Even ones like Cen tech had interests and she was curious to see what kind of things they could bring.

For herself, there was the full array of Sasori and its subsidiaries there that could be worked with as she was presenting them for their new products or contracts. To get them out there and worked on from others. She could also display and show off future products hopefully or ways they are looking to move forward. Inquisition and Damorian were invited to come as well. Other companies could show up or come if this worked out. Her main hope was to get to build up some contracts and offer their work with force infusion through the crystals.

A mobile holographic projector walked in on arachnoid legs into the expo. It displayed the holographic image of Princess Zheng-Mei of the Jin Empire. She smiled upon seeing Matsu appear on her end of the transmission. The blue image of her placed her right fist into her left palm and bowed. “Thank you, Lady Ike, for your invitation. I apologize in advance for my physical presence not being there. With the Lingshi’s lack of Starfighters or smaller transports, I am rather limited to where I can go as the moment.”

It was kind of strange for the Jin Princess to see Matsu. Apparently, there were a people similar to her own out in this new frontier. The Altrisian much reminded her of the Riben-Jin people of her Empire. Should be no surprise that Matsu’s people appeared to be good at manufacturing and creating artisan pieces. “I look forward to further exchange between our people.”

A broad smile split Heinkel's face as he smoothed an almost imaginary fold from the cloth covering his booth's rear table. With Phenex's success and growth he'd been allotted more space than that cramped table he'd had to start at so many years ago. Now he could set up a proper display area with posters of ships in action and little spinning holograms that could be accessed to show of more details. The table he was currently straightening contained a few of the company's weapons and smaller products. Finally he had a little Cyclops floating around that would occasionally dash outside of the booth and bob around for attention and trying to engage people with its bubbly personality.

James was here for one reason--well ok two. One, he had things that people would pay him for; droids, shipping contracts, ships, raw materials, and armies. And two, he liked money. The spacer was clothed in his typical garb; a leather jacket and tight-fitting matching leather pants and a black tee shirt. His DeathHammer strapped to his thigh rattled with each step, a trail of tobacco smoke trailed behind him form his tale-tell addiction. He was addicted to many things. The good things in life.

He stopped in the middle of the hall, this was some sort of convention right? Time to sign contracts. He strode on, looking for that Jedi-lady who sent him the summons in the first place. ((take your time))

Matsu was looking at the ones who arrived to the small expo. It wasn't going to be big and it wasn't going to be the best but she hoped for good things... Plus she had Heinkel..... and that booth babe could show off her highest grade line armors and combat boots like it was no ones business. She was moving and welcoming the ones who arrived as they workers finished setting up and things were laid out. She might even be able to show off something new and special to all of them for the first time... Possibly. "Welcome to Cloud Nine, a rather beautiful place here on bespin. Domin's district was far cooler then her retreat but hers was made out of solid jarna stone that could survive iorbital bombardment. "Princess Zheng of the Jin it is good to see you and hopefully you will enjoy the things we have on offer." She looked at the man who would be showing things off. "Heinkel you know what to do and how best to do it. Just familiarize yourself with the catalog so you know what you are grabbing and welcome James Justice. I have been wanting to meet you since Lady Echo came to see me."

She wasn't sure why she was invited other than a contact of hers was also at this event and opening a booth to try sell products. In fact Cynthia traveled with the woman here. The place seemed busy with all sorts of people and others had already set up. Although she didn't work for Inquisition Cynthia had been asked to do the first shift on the Booth while miss swift conducted business. The woman had already set up a booth with many holo images of the products with the specs. As Cynthia stood there she would give the woman a nod. "I've got things from here. Everything needed knowing is on display and all the contract sheets are under the stall."

Sanya would smile at the girl. It hadn't been long knowing her but she seemed sincere about working. "Very well dear. Once we are finished here we can talk about payment if your fine with that." Sanya looked around to see the majority of the stall where sasori. It was a big company that dwarfed many. Although it was their manager she wanted to see. When companies get big certain projects information gets leaked and well one of them is exactly what Sanya was needing. Although it wasn't exactly hard to spot the woman been a public figure. Sanya stood to the side watching the woman waiting for her to come over.

Matsu was looking at Sanya and Cynthia as they were there with James and she offered a smile. "Welcome and now we can slowly begin the show. Sasori is of course offering plenty of contracts with everyone but as are the others. A place for your men in Justice and the Mercs company to spend their time recharging or entertainment for parties. Equipment for bunkers and ration packs to make your more self sustaining in the long run of your equipment. Weapons and strong armors for everything you could need with your attention on some of it."

James nodded in agreement to each word she had. He represented two entities today, The Free Colonies, and his company Justice Shipping.

"Well two things, if I may say so," James said letting out a puff of smoke from his cigarette, "First, as CEO of Justice Shipping and our--well, subsidiaries, I have a number of things that I can offer each of ye, specifically ye, Miss. First, our shipping rates are the lowest in the business, and the most reliable. I would be more than glad to deliver ye goods where ye need em. Second, SocMin Fed, me mining company can supply ye with materials as Miss Swift here knows," James gave [member="Sanya Val Swift"] a nod. "We just expanded our holdings to a phrik mine and are in works to garner a stygum mine by the end of the quarter," and by garner the spacer meant steal from other pirates.

"Lastly," he hesitated. He was unsure who would believe what he was about to say? Certainly he wouldn't have if anyone had told him a week before, "I were elected as the head of state for the Free Colonies through a turn of events. We be needing contracts to supply things. The sort that ye can give us. Frankly unemployment be an issue we wish to curtail, so we are also willing to offer major tax breaks to those who set up shop in our neck of the woods as it gets bigger, and stronger."

Damorian was never one to shy away from a party and a chance to sign contracts was well it was one of the good things that came from networking. Sure she might not get to have all of the major support of the big shipwrights but these were the ones who at least wouldn't sell her out because they were greedy. She would have to actually work to make them want to break a contract. For now, though while she was looking over some of the things there arriving to show off Damorian products the idea of paying into and getting a resort for her employees was a nice idea. She would have to see about making contracts for the different things... like mining materials and countermeasures she could install on her ships for combating stealth users.

The free colonies were something she could work with and offering them contracts and signing them herself well... that was always a quick way to handle things while her attention went to some of the different things there. All the hard work the workers at Sasori had been doing was pushing forward though as she laid out her table with the datapads and different companies they could sign with. A a more codial endeavor trying to get mass contracts between all of the groups was important. They could all network and grow as opposed to going at it alone.

Ultimatum had been made aware of the offer for advertisement somewhat late in a Mustafarian day. He had been charging for about an hour, preferring to maintain a month's worth of power at the very least at all times. His own company had expanded rather slowly, but most assuredly. He was fine with this, it allowed for a more anonymous control on his part. But then again, so did using almost entirely droid workers. He did not want his name plastered all over the galaxy on the company's products or buildings. He had picked up information about a certain droid he knew, one that proved most dangers. Now that droid was out in the galaxy, also running from their old master.

Now was hardly the time to concern himself with such matters, it was a time to make decisions and keep all of the factors in mind. This was an opportunity to create connections with other companies, thereby strengthening each other. That was something he could not pass up. Thus he made the decision to head to Cloud Nine. He could recall being there once before. It was only for a short time, to make certain that gifts given at a wedding were properly distributed. Beyond that, to wish the bride and groom well, before going on his own way.

This time he took the Sovereignty, hardly the largest craft to have arrived near Bespin, but perhaps one of the oldest in design. He sent a message ahead of him, back to [member="Matsu Ike"]. "Greetings again, Madam Ike. I received your message and have arrived in system to take part in this gathering, if it is still permissible."

Kay had arrived with her brother, [member="James Justice"] , though she didn't speak up or even make herself known until now. She of course had busied herself with looking at the different booths.

Once James was finished she was pleasantly surprised to see [member="Ultimatum"] . The ruler of Mustafar was one of her best friends, as was [member="Matsu Ike"] . She greeted the both of them with smiles. They knew of her firing from the Republic Government, but perhaps they didn't know of her Minister of Diplomacy position for the Free Colonies? It was one of a few hats that she was trying out and she didn't want to let anyone down.

"Greetings my friends. So lovely to see you. We could use some help of which your companies could provide. There are some worlds that are joining the Free Colonies that could use a lot of help. Their governments didn't look after them, so their societies are not very well off. We need schools, medical buildings, shops and staff that can help train the locals so that they can be provided with jobs once their training is complete. As James has said, we can provide the materials. We just need the expertise, people and some equipment that you can offer."

She could see more people arriving and there was so much for it as she smiled looking at Ultimatum and Kay motioning them forward. "Welcome welcome all of your, we have so much going on and you should like some of the new things we have t show off." There was plenty of things on display fromall of the companies there now plus some of the offers they could do. "I am glad to see more faces and now we can begin in the main things, signing contracts and making large buys. Sasori and all of its subsidiaries are proud to present the small company expo... just hit up our booth babe for a look at some of the cooler things we have made."

Contracts were the important part to Ultimatum. Making things for the public was not of his concern at this time. This company was not made for that purpose and would therefore not yet jump into that market. The droid had been surprised a long time ago when he learned that different companies could build almost exactly the same product and yet for the most part both of the companies would survive. He had later decided that it was just the organic way to thrive no matter the area.

Ultimatum was glad to see two people he recognized, one a friend and the other a relatively trustworthy acquaintance. Neither of which were Sith, that made things much more comfortable. He found the request from [member="Lady Kay"] to be most intriguing, as she would know he had supported the Republic. From what he guessed, she would not join a power that she disagreed with, thus it was likely a cause that could be trusted. He wondered if he would be able to help, probably he would really only be able to assist in the construction of the buildings, given that he had little experience in the other realms. He could probably teach some of the locals about electronics and how to work it as well as working metal. But then again many people could do that more than likely.

While this thought continued in the back of his mind, Ultimatum turned his attention to the offer from [member="Matsu Ike"]. He wondered what they could offer a droid. He did not doubt that they likely had a selection of devices that he would find most useful. He decided that he would have to check that out, but first he decided to respond to Kay.

"I will offer whatever aid you believe I can give. I can help construct the buildings that may be used and have some knowledge that could be helpful for teaching, if you are interested."

Kay smiled brightly as [member="Ultimatum"] wished to fulfil part of her request. "Wonderful. The moment I saw you here, I knew that I could count on you. Construction would be most helpful as well as teaching the people how to do it for themselves. As I have said, these people are not well off. They are more like refugees living in squalor. You'll be paid of course. I can have a contract whipped up in a few hours."

Kay couldn't write as fast as he did and she lost her contract templates when she was fired. But all that she had to do was do a search or remember and she'd have a proper one made up for him. It was a little difficult setting things up from scratch, but she hoped that her experience would be enough to get her to be successful with this challenge.

Ultimatum was gladdened that he could help. It was good to know that he could teach some skills at least for people to learn from. He wondered what it would be like to teach organics, the closest he had done had been transferring information into other droids. Those were two very different processes. He hoped that he would be up to the challenge, obviously he would need to take some time to learn some teaching methods and other things that could help.

"Take as long as you need. It will take some time to collect the resources and prepare a satisfactory curriculum. It is good to see you again by the way." He would have asked about other things, except that he did not want to bring up any negative memories for the organic. She seemed to be doing well for herself, perhaps finding another job had just been what she needed.

Kay smiled at [member="Ultimatum"] . "It's good to see you too, my friend." She couldn't help herself but give him a hug. It was a little odd to hug a droid, but they had gone through many adventures together and at times he seemed more in touch with humanity than many humans.

In truth, she was feeling a bit better now that she was getting back on her feet and being useful. It was still disheartening to be abandoned by the very people that she worked hard for, but maybe she just wasn't worth keeping around. Hopefully things here would be different.

More people had seemed to arrive although Sanya wanted to pull matsue away from them to speak privetly. So far she only knew two people here officially and one unofficially. But that will soon be different. "Lady Kay it has been a while." She said acknowledging her presence. "Come by my Booth later and catch up also I hear your under a new banner so to say. I'm sure me and my mercenary friend could lend a hand to the new organization." Sanya would smile before moving off.

Tapping matsu's shoulder to grab her attention. "Excuse me Miss Ike could I borrow you for a moment... privetly?" Sanya would begin walking over to her booth away from the crowd. "So I got some information about something you have made recently at sasori. A small cell that utilizes iso-5. Well I'm interested in buying one and help fitting it into something I have. Id be willing of course to make the fair trade of having one modified for you too. I'm also interested in having an ai developed that could assist me in all manners of tasks. Do you think that would be possible. I would assist in it's development." It was a lot for the woman to think about but after all this is what the expo was for wasn't it?. "And one last thing. Make sure to get to the girl with pink hair over there. She needs help with gear and investments, an we both know your not short on credits or those aurodium mines. Your set for fifty lifetimes as it is."

Matsu was looking at everything going on as the displays and images of equipment went up. She saw Sanya and raised an eyebrow nodding to her as she stepped to the side standing at the front of the booth with everything going on. "You have heard correctly though we did not get as much as I would have liked with it. Still there are reactors for field teams to bring out and use." She offered a smile and took the compliment about her funding. Going after aurodium mines and being one of the main markets was well important for something she could use to fund the major projects. Other things like roonstones and crystals of course also helped.

"well in terms of your friend there is always a need for good mercenaries to support things. Lets go and see what she can offer and I think we can work with some of the things for that reactor." She brought up the different places and locations that could provide different services before turning towards Cynthia and looking over at her mercenaries. "Now lets see what your people can offer my dear. Their protection at our Saori and Shion locations would be invaluable, defense of the mines something very nice." THey had more then enough things and getting the mercs legion a discount on some of the equipment or a chance to use more advanced things was there.

"I think some of the bounties and contracts with my hunters guild could use your mercenaries. We'd even be able to provide funding as your friend pointed out. We make more then enough to fund our own operations and are able to with the things we have made. Find dozens of new locations. New plnets with hundreds of mines and places to get some of the more valuable pieces of metal and stones in the galaxy. Does that sound nice?" She was also looking at the Free Colonies as they could hear with with Lady Kay and Ultimatum was a skilled droid as it were providing insight. "Our colonization ships have been mapping out new planets and locations in the companions as we speak."
