Some Planet. Some Where...

[member="Alric Kuhn"]

There was a small knock on the door.

It was Danger. She stood there with the glass of water in one hand and Alric's tea in the other.

While she waited for the indication to be allowed in, the Queen of Trade mulled over the situation. In her mind, she was also coming up with different avenues to tackle this. But then again, this was entirely up to Alric.

A sigh fell from her lips, and she squared her shoulders.

Honestly, she was feeling every one of her years right then.

"Come in." Nel's suggestion could work, but it would be dangerous.

Rigor was a droid, yes, and he had certain restraints placed upon him, but if he ran Vanir...well there was no telling what would happen. Over the past few years the droid had expanded it's knowledgebase an already vast amount, so far that Alric had begun to wonder if it was even right to call him a droid anymore. He tapped his knuckles against the desk.

"That has it's advantages." He admitted. Unlike himself or Nel, Rigor could quite literally be everywhere. "But it'll be dangerous."

He doubted Rigor would ever do anything truly...bad. The Droid at its core was still a Medical droid, he was programmed to help, to do good and fix things. The Tetan found it highly unlikely that one day Rigor would simply snap and pull the classic AI move. In fact, Alric thought that was nearly impossible. Far more likely Rigor was the idea that Rigor would attempt to streamline Vanir, firing organic workers and replacing them with more economical droids. That idea was far more realistically, and only slightly less bad.

Creativity was something Vanir prided itself on, droids weren't generally creative. "Perhaps...if you were to advise it...Take position as chief designer operative?"

The door slid open without a sound. It paid to have the money to ensure that there were no unnecessary noises. Walking inside, Danger caught sight of both Alric and Nell, but it was hearing Alric mention that something would be 'dangerous' that etched an expression of concern and query over her face.

Brows drew together, wondering what this was about. Coming to Nell's right, she gave the woman a small, encouraging smile and handed her the glass of water.

"Thank you, " Nell said gratefully, before returning her attention to Alric. The Tetan briefly followed the slow amble of his wife as she came to his side. She set the cup of black tea in front of him, quietly listening as they continued their conversation.

"I can take the position." He looked at Danger. "Nominally."

His mind was now racing with the idea, tweaking it a bit, changing it so that it could actually work. The suggestion had been a good one, but they would need to work out the details before they even moved forward just a little bit. If they did this the wrong way everything could go disastrously. It would be important to do it right. "Rigor is fully capable of doing the job for me. The administrative work, approvals, and even personable interactions."

The last would be a difficulty, but not impossible.

"I know someone whose already done the same." He reached over and grasped Danger's hand, squeezing it gently. "We just have to make sure he has all the right tools."

It could work. It could also be a disaster, but in all honesty Alric didn't particularly care either way. If he took the position in name only Rigor could very easily pose as him. The droid was already a clever mimic when he utilized a holographic disguise matrix, mostly because he had so much data to base his act off of. Putting him in Alric's place while the old Tetan enjoyed himself here on the Farm? That seemed as simple as all hell, especially considering the other benefits.

Her fingers intertwined with Alric's own. As Danger began to piece the puzzle, things started to make sense. She knew of Rigor, the droid had come up in conversation before. Often when Six had been brought up. If he was going the direction I'm thinking...

Danger squeezed the Tetan's hand, and she took a step closer to stand beside him. Six was Danger's Human Replica Droid. Created by Archangel to be an exact copy with continuous uploads of Danger's personality and memories. She conducted business when Danger could not, working in her place in a seamless transition.

If Alric was looking to do the same.. it could very well work. Another squeeze of her hand and a glance down at the Tetan indicated her approval.

This could very well a good compromise.

Rigor would do well given the correct parameters, all Alric and Nel had to do would be creating those parameters. It would be simple enough. The Droid wasn't like an AI, it still followed basic protocols and had more then a willingness to do what it was told, or rather, asked. There was always an odd understanding between Rigor and whatever tasked it with anything. The droid was treated with respect, even a form of kindness. That had begun with Kiran, the Zeltron first recognizing the droid for what it could be.

"Alright." He said with a sigh.

His eyes wandered towards Danger, then back towards Nel.

"Then that's what we'll do." The blue woman looked like she had just been taken out of a torture chamber, the relief and happiness on her face was almost enough to make Alric wonder if she hadn't experienced some form of duress during her tenure as CEO. "You'll stay on as Chief Operations Officer, and I..."

He trailed off with a frown. "Will resume my position as CEO."

With a droid doing everything that he would normally do. That would be fun.

Hearing that, you could see the relief wash over Nell. Her shoulders sank, but in a release of the tension, and her face brightened to her healthy cerulean hue. One could tell she had been stressed, and that this had been on her mind for quite some time.

A squeeze of Alric's hand confirmed her approval of the plan, but for now, Danger was concerned over the Liran.

"Nell," Danger began, slipping from the Tetan's hold to walk over to the younger woman.

"How about you take some time off, rest here for a few days." A glance at Alric would confirm it. It wasn't like they didn't have what they required to run things from the Farm; Alric had already ascertained that when he had it built.

"No, Thank you."

Alric quirked an eyebrow, though he wasn't too surprised.

Liran's were...an odd people. They didn't really 'take days off', they were industrious, and they always had to do something. Nel was no exception to that rule. As long as he had known the woman she had always been working on something. A new ship design, a new weapon, something that would benefit someone. It was part of the reason why he'd always thought Nel would be perfect as CEO. However, it was clear that there was a difference between the type of work Nel could endure. "Are you sure?"

Alric wanted to make the offer clear.

"Yes, I need to get back to something...normal."

Of course for her, normal was a laboratory somewhere, likely on The Foundry. Alric only nodded in approval, having nothing more to say. The Liran would do her work, Alric would return as 'CEO', and Rigor...well, he imagined Rigor would take his new job in stride.
