OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

  • Intent: To flesh out the NPC Death Trooper Squadron Lucien has been using since the GE

  • Role: Special Operations Force Six, AKA Terror Squad, is a personal protection unit assigned to Lucien E. Irridius when he was first proclaimed Grand Admiral for Tanomas Graf's failed Galactic Empire. After Lucien's defection, Terror Squad remained loyal to the Admiral and continues to serve as both a protection unit as well as a strike force.

GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Unit Name: Special Operations Force Six / Terror Squad

  • Classification: Special Operations Group

  • Equipment:
Armor System
Primary Weapons

Sidearms

Grenades / Detonators

  • Description: Terror Squad does not utilize any emblems or markings that would distinguish their unit from any other Death Trooper squad. With their deep black armor and green chin mounts, the troopers are a nightmare vision come real - the eerie helms only made worse by their stoic behaviors and gargoyle-like face plates. Psychologically conditioned for loyalty and courage in combat, the individual members of the squad act with a mechanical precision as if each were part of a master clockwork. This veil of uniformity and and emotionless precision holds up under even the most tense of pressure - but when not on mission the squad can lay back and relax just like any other trooper unit. When in public and uniformed, however, the troopers are generally silent, watchful and extremely protective whatever the decided perimeter happens to be at that time.
The unit has recently appropriated the old motto of the Tanomas Graf's failed Empire's Death Trooper Command program "The Night is Dark".
The members of this unit currently include six individuals:
  • DT-278 (Terror Actual), Jareth Aldron [Human Male] - Squad Leader
  • DT-343 (Terror Two), Siphus Hallion [Morellian Male] - Designated Marksman
  • DT-138 (Terror Three), Jak'alma'Nerdad "Kal" [Chiss Male] - Explosive Ordinance Technician
  • DT-447 (Terror Four), Syn Vance [Human Male] - Slicer / Console Technician
  • DT-360 (Terror Five), Bander Corzet [Human Male] - Long-Range Comms Specialist
  • DT-210 (Terror Six), Reese Kalhan [Human Female] - Recon Specialist

COMBAT INFORMATION:

  • Unit Size: Small

  • Unit Availability: Rare (while not the only Death Troopers in existence - this is a specific squad within the larger, but rare, ranks)

  • Unit Experience: Elite

  • Combat Function:
Terror Squad serves what is generally considered a support role in larger, organized armies. They are trained in a series of asymmetrical
tactics and operate with small unit tactics in both clandestine and commando operations - that may be linked to larger operational goals or
may be a closed mission not attached to a larger offensive. For example, during a large-scale offensive action Terror Squad may be sent
ahead of the main invasion force to sabotage enemy logistics, radar or defensive positions. They may further assist during the course of the
battle by providing precision strikes from behind enemy lines - eventually joining the main offensive force for redeployment.

On the flip side, Terror Squad may be sent into a location as part of a clandestine or sensitive operation in which their strike
is not linked to an invading army. Such examples may be a night-raid on a rebel leaders compound, in which the unit utilizes their small to
quickly enter the complex and neutralize it. Tactics on both sides of the coin require not only their training in close-quarters combat and
urban fighting, but also their survival training and excellent use of small unit tactics. Quick, silent and lethal is the motto that they
must live by to succeed.

Outside of their offensive capabilities, Terror Squad is also capable of defensive techniques. Following in the footsteps of old Imperial
Doctrine, a best defense is always a violent and explosive offensive. In the event that the unit is forced to defend a world, they will
attempt to retreat and reform behind enemy offense lines to initiate guerilla style tactics. These tactics would continue if the world fell
to occupation unless the unit was given specific orders to retreat off-world.

Finally, this unit differs from other Death Trooper units in that they have received the High Value Asset Detail (HIVAD) training required
to serve as personal protection for Imperial High Command. They have extensive tactical knowledge of how to provide security detail for a
high-value person and are trained to react quickly to a threat - taking direct command of the HVP to quickly allow them to escape from danger.
They will often use their own bodies as defensive cover for their HVP and are trained to aggressively dispatch anyone who gets in the way of
their marks escape - even if those forces are generally considered friendly.

Strengths:

  • Extensive combat training and state-of-the-art armor makes them a force to be reckoned with

  • Small unit tactics and asymmetrical combat training makes them a difficult target for most large military forces

  • Extensive personal protection training makes them excellent bodyguards for high value persons

  • Excellent marksmen and trained in quick target acquisition makes their combined (or individual) fire truly dangerous

  • Survival training allows the unit to operate at high-capacity, even when separated from a centralized command.

Weaknesses:

  • A small unit that lacks the support resources (such as direct fire support) of larger military units. They must be attached to a specific, larger legion or naval unit for each mission to make use of the support larger forces get by mere extension of their size.

  • As most of their tactical approach relies on Behind-the-Lines strikes, the unit must rely on their own cunning if things go wrong.

  • Due to their specific niche in combat - their role in larger operations is very narrow in comparison to larger units.

  • Due to the training time required to become a Death Trooper, replacing a fallen trooper is a time consuming and difficult process.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Reestablished by Tanomas Graf's Galactic Empire, Death Trooper Command was seen as the primer outlet for special operations concerning the Imperial military. Terror Squad was one of the first units assembled for the dual purpose of special operations and the personal protection of a high value target. In Terror Squad's case, their assigned officer was Grand Admiral Lucien E. Irridius and as such were conditioned and trained to have complete loyalty to him - as his position put him at high risk of internal political assassinations.

Not long into their tenure with the Grand Admiral, the unit saw their first real combat at the planet of Myrkr when Irridius encountered forces of the Mandalorian Clans. When diplomacy failed, Irridius sent his personal protection unit into battle alongside a contingent of Imperial Marines - both of whom saw fierce fighting on the planet's surface. It was here that the unit proved their worth to the Grand Admiral as all members of the unit not only survived, but managed to return with several confirmed Mandalorian kills. The unit would see action soon after Myrkr with the invasion of Scarif by the Galactic Empire - yet again proving their lethal efficiency.

The true test would come after Lucien's falling out with Imperial leadership, however. Tension had grown between Graf and Lucien for some time and The Grand Admiral had done his part to prove his dedication to his men and stir discontent within the ranks of First Fleet. He had made it known that political agendas were getting in the way of what was best for the Navy and its men. It would all come to a head deep in the hours of night on Kamino when Lucien ordered the purge.

Alongside loyal Imperial Marines, Terror Squad proved their loyalty to the one they were assigned to protect and ruthlessly murdered the Stormtrooper legion aboard The Shadow of Regret while they slept. The battle was quick and with few shots fired, but through this Terror Squad had proven that no price was too high for loyalty. It was a testament and an irony to the efficiency of Death Trooper Commands conditioning. The squad has seen little action since then, conducting only routine boarding actions on lightly armed civilian vessels and continuing their guard of Lucien Irridius.

Hey there. This submissions is really well written :) I only have one suggestion to make;

The members of this unit currently include six individuals:
  • DT-278 (Terror Actual), Jareth Aldron [Human Male] - Squad Leader
  • DT-343 (Terror Two), Siphus Hallion [Morellian Male] - Designated Marksman
  • DT-138 (Terror Three), Jak'alma'Nerdad "Kal" [Chiss Male] - Explosive Ordinance Technician
  • DT-447 (Terror Four), Syn Vance [Human Male] - Slicer / Console Technician
  • DT-360 (Terror Five), Bander Corzet [Human Male] - Long-Range Comms Specialist
  • DT-210 (Terror Six), Reese Kalhan [Human Female] - Recon Specialist
Do submissions or character sheets exist for these? If so, I would strongly recommend linking to them from here.

That's it! Once you've edited (or decided not to) just tag me back and we can get this approved :)
