Despite the fact he wasn't all that old, he certainly felt it these days. The biggest feeling of age came just from seeing his son grow up. Jason was about nine now, and in a few years he would be ready to make that jump from Youngling to Padawan, if he so chose. Of course, it was also possible he'd choose to wrap up his Jedi training and go his own way. Josh had only ever put him under training to protect him, so he could learn to control his abilities, and hide them from those who might seek to harm him for them. This would only happen until Jason was old enough to make his own decisions. And one day, one day coming very soon, it would be time to make that decision.

Just not today.

Today, father and son were gathered at the Jedi headquarters on Kashyyyk's Silver Rest, to meet up with Anora. It had been a little while since their last meeting, and they'd arranged to meet up to check in. Sure, they could have met up at the Silver Jedi's political, or "official" headquarters of Commenor, but Josh wasn't a politician. He was a warrior and a Jedi. And more importantly, the Silver Rest was where Anora had trained, once upon a time. It was more fitting to be here, where they would not be disturbed, and where the atmosphere would be more relaxing for the both of them, and for Jason.

So at the spaceport they waited, once they had finished the day's training, gotten washed up and changed into civilian attire.

"Dad, I'm hungry."

"I'm sure you are. You trained well today, we'll pick up something when Nora gets here."

"Can we get pizza?"

"Sure bud."

There had been plenty of things going on as of late in Anora's life. Closest to date, she had legitimately just finished a crazy job with her partner Tyran, but rather than return home with him to the rest of the clan, she had gotten word from her former Master. It was time for them to check in, to meet up and catch up on things once again. And honestly, Nora was glad for it. There were plenty of things in her day to day life that frustrate her beyond reason, and so the ability to step away now and again was nice.

Plus, not going home with Tyran let her check in on some things she had going on that she didn't want him to know about yet, so it was absolutely a win-win situation for her.

And it's not as if Anora minded catching transports, its what she had done her whole life when left to her own devices...she really needed her own ship. But that was neither here nor there at the moment, and when the craft she was on now landed, the brunette didn't waste any time in getting up and heading for the ramp. How long had it been since she had been on Kashyyyk? She honestly couldn't remember...Probably when she had brought Eenia's lightsaber back to Josh after...well...everything.

But that was years - years behind them all now, and while Anora and Eenia hadn't exactly made amends yet, neither of them were hunting the other down to kill them, and they were both living in CIS space without incident. So that was at least a step in the right direction.

Thoughts of her sister and past events went out the window however, once Nora caught sight of Josh, and whom she could only guess was Jason. A genuine smile lit up her face as she approached the pair, and her head shook as she looked the youngling over. "All of a sudden, I feel my age..." she stated, then her gaze lifted to Josh. "Better watch it, he'll be twice your size before you know it." she grinned now, though really it was a true enough possibility.

Far enough away, amongst the thousands of trees on Kashyyk, a lone shadow moved slowly, watching. The Silver Rest. He remembered Josh being a Jedi, of course... But when did he get involved with the Silvers? And this girl... Why did she seem familiar? He didn't know her, but he did know her. Gently, he blinked a few times behind his mask, and took a deep breath. It didn't matter. He was here for the traitor and his son, not his friend.

Lightly springing from branch to branch, the man made his way closer to the compound. Eventually, he found himself in earshot of the two.

"You trained well today..."

For a moment, he stopped. That voice. How it angered him. He closed his eyes once more. 'Breathe. Don't let him control you again. Do what you came to do.' When His eyes opened once more, he set his jaw and closed the gap even further. Thirty feet. Twenty...So close to taking his revenge. Quietly, he pulled the vibroblade from its sheathe on his back, and waited.

As Nora stepped off the ship, Josh smiled softly at the sight of her. He reached over to take her hands in greeting, squeezing them firmly. She turned to Jason, who's eyes widened as he stepped behind his father a bit at the sight of the stranger. Though he wasn't able to hide as well as he used to, considering he had sprouted drastically since Anora had last seen him.

"It's okay, Jason. This is Anora. She's a friend" Josh promised the nervous child, who slowly nodded his head in turn as he gulped before bowing his head. "Hello."

Josh chuckled in turn as he looked to Anora. "Probably. Considering my height already, he'll be a big boy when he's older. Won't ya, Jay?"

Jason took a deep breath, minding his breathing like his father had always advised. "Mmm."

Josh shrugged at that. "He'll warm up before long. So I may or may not have promised him pizza when you got here, so what do you guys say about getting something to eat while we catch up?" he suggested, though his expression soon changed. Something wasn't right. He could sense a rising source of tension, emotions... Hate. And it was getting closer.

He took a breath of his own as he took Anora's hand and leaned in to whisper to her.

"Take Jason and clear some distance. Something's not right."

He looked to Jason. "Hey bud? Why don't you tell Nora what you like on your pizza while daddy takes a call real quick?"

The bashfulness of the kid made Anora smile, though for only the slightest moment it was a tight expression. There were plenty of things in her life that she wanted, and honestly felt like she would never have, but that wasn't why she was here. No, she was here to enjoy herself, to catch up with an old friend, and to meet a new one. So her expression was tight for only a quick flash of a moment and then it evened out and was easy going again. "Hey pizza sounds pretty good to me." she assured them both, though had been looking at Jason when she had said as such.

Catching up over pizza sounded like a really good idea, especially considering the fact that as soon as she thought about it? Her stomach growled quietly in approval. She hadn't eaten before the trip, or during it, which wasn't necessarily a bad thing but now she was hungry.

Or was...

Nora felt that shift in the air not moments after Josh did, and her brow creased as she half turned to get a look in the direction the feelings were coming from. Her easy going expression slowly melted into a frown; those emotions coming towards them were all too familiar to her. That was almost exactly what had been radiating off of Eenia when the younger Vahn had tried to kill Anora.

But, she had been given instruction, and old habits died hard. The brunette nodded and slipped her hand from her former Master's, but only so that she could instead reach down at take Jason's hand. She made sure that she was calm, and that she felt calm so that the boy would feel it from her. "C'mon, kiddo. I don't bite, and I bet we could build the craziest, tastiest pizza of all time. If we let your dad help, it'll be a boring pizza and taste bad." she grinned, then set about leading the boy child away - doing her best not to look back, lest she blow her calm demeanor.

The assassin watched as the little boy was carted away, lured by the promise of pizza. Once they were out of sight, he dropped down in front of the Jedi Master, landing with one hand on the ground and the other outstretched with his blade grasped tightly. Standing up, he righted himself and stared the other man down. The low hum of his vibroblade filled the silence as he stood still, glaring under the cover of his helmet. He let a few moments pass before he finally spoke, a mechanical tone mixing with his voice.

"You killed my family, Jedi. Prepare to die."

In a flash, he leapt at his opponent, using the force to enhance his speed. He closed the gap in a single step, then twisted his body and slashed downward in an aggressive attempt to gain the upper hand.

"Dad!"

Jason cried out and tried to break from Anora's grip to charge at the assailant when he lunged at his father. Josh had waited patiently for the assailant to drop down and attack. He could feel fury, radiating like a beacon. It told him that they would strike first. It festered more and more by the second, and it was clear he would not wait for the battle to begin. Typical darksider, really. But as they lunged, his lightsaber flew into his hand. But only when they completed their motion did he actually activate his lightsaber to counter.

It was a simple motion, and yet effective at the same time. His opponent's rage would cause them to expend too much energy, as would be trying to outwit him. He could use that to his advantage in the opening round.

"Jedi aren't exactly known for killing families. Maybe we can discuss this misunderstanding over pizza?" Josh remarked quite casually considering this man was trying to kill him. He trusted Anora to keep Jason safe. But despite his casual tone, Jason's presence increased Josh's urgency. He kept a calm and collected exterior, and could adapt it some to the battle, but deep inside he was willing to do whatever it took to protect his son.

With his free hand, he held it out under the blue blade and summoned a fireball that began to grow from his palm. After a few moments of charging to increase the size and heat, he unleashed it from close range at his opponent's armored chest.
