General is capitalized. The knife cuts both ways, Dwarf. If you don't capitalize it, then it's just a general statement.

General must be capitalized, or else it no longer has the same meaning. Also, when used as an identifying word, as in saying "I'll be home soon, Mother." it must be capitalized.

Oh yes, wars are still fought, but it is an age of blood and iron where personal heroics count for less when compared to a million soldiers acting in concert.
