Alkor Centaris
Son of Liberty
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Intent: a cute toy to piss off big government, or anyone else trying to bring trouble where it ain't welcome.
Image Source: Shape and size vary depending in the end user; they do not have a uniform design.
Canon Link: N/A
Permissions: N/A
Primary Source: N/A
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
Manufacturer: Alkor Centaris
Affiliation: Alkor Centaris, others.
Model: N/A
Modularity: No.
Production: Semi-Unique (issued to a select few by Alkor himself.)
Material: Durasteel, jury rigged CB radio components
SPECIAL FEATURES
Small, easy to stow: conveniently sized and built to be freely worn however the end user prefers.
Radio wave/ranged frequency scramber: devices that operate within the field emitted by this device might start to twist signals, cross wires, and get mixed up. The data feed from a HUD might get shot to a Protocol Droid, or a targeting computer might get the secret love message you were trying to keep discreet, then awkwardly ask loudly for clarification about who "shnookums" is. The potential for chaos is, obviously, extremely high.
STRENGTHS
Coin Flip Conissuer: It takes a real Corellian to use this thing. You manage it, though? Even the most accurate of weaponry might becomes a loose cannon within 30 yards. Missiles aimed from the jetpack of a Mandalorian might fly wild and start to lock on random targets. Blaster bolts can misfire. Targeting systems randomly trade data with others in the nearby vicinity.
WEAKNESSES
Good Luck Chuck: You really, really are taking a gamble on this one. With a guided missile, there's a finite number of targets that can get crossed in a short range. Remember, there's only as many targeting systems in a given space as fit in a Mando's HUD, or in the targeting computer of a Droid, or even that little unassuming Astromech. You don't know what signal's gonna get picked up and crossed with what, and since you're in the crosshairs, you're just as much a target as anyone else.
Fra-gi-le… must be Zeltronian: it does nothing else, and it has no inherent defence. If it takes a solid hit, the device can be damaged or destroyed.
DESCRIPTION
Welcome to the Outer Rim.
The Law has limits. Men who like to bring their egos and morals to the fringes of civilized society often tout their skills as marksmen or carry heavy ordinance to back their claims up. Might makes right out here, don't it?
Well, from one Spacer to another, I respectfully disagree with that. See, if you have the skill and the grit to survive out here, it don't matter how much firepower the other guy brings. You either outsmart him, or you make things a little more interesting.
Corellian engineering is peerless in its ingenuity, boundless creativity, and in proper testament to the Free People, it has just the right amount of wild that you'd be crazy to trust it with your life.
Or maybe you'd be crazy not to? Some folks say that kind of flyin' or balls that big'll save your life. Other people are skeptics. I'm a practical man, and I think that this product speaks for itself.
Designed as a small jamming device that can slide into a pocket or be worn on a belt, or rigged to fit into whatever nook and cranny your little heart desires.
The SNS-87 is still in the pre-production stages, but eventually, it'll hit the black market and go everywhere.
