Smooth Criminal

Spencer sat in the middle of a rented Coruscant bungalow, she watched as steam came up from a kettle in the kitchen. The water was finished and she would hopefully be meeting with the Jedi Master Feena…Mason? Spencer mused over the woman’s last name for a moment; their wedding wasn’t a secret so she had done some digging about the woman’s husband and herself. It didn’t look too good for either of them. Either way, she was going to help clear the names of the Masons or condemn them.

Standing she wandered to the water and opened the lid for a moment to stop the whistling…

A few days ago.

As @[member="Feena"] would open her holomail a fun YOU WIN A VACATION popped up…though inside is nothing what she expected. A slender figure of a young blonde woman stood fiddling with the droid in front of her. Once she felt it was right the message played.

'Master Jedi Feena--um--Mason? My name is Spencer Jacobs, I request your presence and the enclosed address in a few days for tea. We have some things to discuss.'

The message fades, but not before the frustrated first apprentice squees over a small nexu in her window.

The Eternal Queen
That had been an interesting message. Spencer Jacobs... the name sounded familiar, but she could not quite place it. Either way, she was on Coruscant already and had no previous engagements for that time. And tea did sounds lovely.
and the girl looked... eerily familiar. Just like that girl she knew when she was just a youngling.

She arrived at the address indicated in the message dressed as a Lady of Coruscant. When meeting someone for tea, it was always important to look your best, after all.
Out front, she waited to be let in.

Looking over at the door, she wandered over. Opening it, she remained ready to see a hoard of troopers outside. According to the holoboards she was still a wanted girl. Opening it she saw the woman and blinked few times. She wasn’t what she expected the woman was quite regal looking and Spencer grinned awkwardly. The hand that was hidden behind her back dissipated the electricity she was preparing to unleash on the possible troops.

Reaching up she adjusted the blue tie around her neck and welcomed Feena in.

“Welcome Master Jedi Feena Mason right?”

After the woman entered, Spencer would open the chair for her and be as polite as ever. The tea and small pastries and sandwiches awaited the Master at the table she had set up. Spencer took her seat and smiled pouring Feena a cup of tea.

“Thank you for coming on short notice, but there are several things to discuss. Do you have any questions before we start?”

The Eternal Queen
The girl that greeted her was not as Feena had expected. she was a little, well, androgynous. Feena smiled a charming little smile and swept into a graceful bow to her host.
"Thank you, Miss Jacobs, for your invitation."
She took the seat she was supposed to, sitting tall and straight. Perfect posture.

"But, yes, as a matter of fact. I would like to ask why I was invited here. I do not believe you and I have been introduced before this."

Spencer filled her cup with tea and took a cookie for herself. Looking at the dish then back up towards Feena she smiled softly. No they had never been introduced formally and hopefully that would change with their meeting today. Taking a sip of the tea she placed it back down and sighed softly. The best tea, it had been some time since she was able to sit in peace drinking it. The last time, some idiot decided to come waltzing in because he was mad; ruining a perfect day.

" I heard about your wedding and I wanted to send my congratulations from myself and my Master. How is your husband these days?"

Good lead in Spencer...goood lead in, a whole lot better than what you had thought about saying.

The Eternal Queen
Heard about...? Her teacup froze at her lips and she stared at the girl across from her with curiosity.
"Really now? And who did you hear about my marriage from?"
It was hardly a secret, and yes, she was a Council member, but it wasn't as if her wedding was galactic news. So why invite her, a complete stranger, out for tea? Just to ask about her husband. She set her cup down, a sick feeling in the pit of her stomach.

Spencer picked up on the woman's movements, the way she froze when she mentioned the wedding and that sickness in her stomach. Spencer just sat there with a smile on her face and a soft sip of the tea. Yeah the tea was good.

The cup tinked against the saucer and Spencer's hands rested in her lap.

"I heard from my master. She has eyes and ears everywhere in the galaxy. Oh was I not supposed to know about your marriage. You should look into seeing who isn't faithful in your order."

Waving her hands, Spencer continued.

"I have no malicious intent. My master is seeking a contact and we think your husband might be our man. He would be protected of course but again I'm just curious"

The Eternal Queen
Who was this woman? She clearly had bad info. She misunderstood entirely. this was embarrassing...
"My wedding wasn't secret. I never needed it to be secret. My marriage to my husband is not something I am ashamed of."
She tilted her head to the side, her manner changing in an instant. She lifted her cup to her lips. The tea was... cheap, or at least it tasted cheap. Then again, Feena was incredibly picky. She'd been to enough tea parties here on the upper levels to have a taste for the best.
"And if you have business dealings with my husband, you aught to contact him directly. I am not his agent or his secretary."

Who was she? Who was her Master? Why would they need a contact? Were they republic? They must be. Nobody else would be foolish enough to invite her directly.

"I apologize for putting you in this position then. Your name was the name that I revieced from my contact. Also my father has spoken highly of you so I took the chance to also meet you personally.

Kamon and her brother were here only contacts with the Jedi, her father being a former Jedi. She grew slightly frustrated and fought the urge to use the force to get what she wanted. This type of arena wasn't her forte and could see why Ashin had made this part of her trials. Leaning back slightly in her chair she closed her eyes and took a deep breath.

" I'm just asking for help that's all. My master can be rather demanding..."

The Eternal Queen
Feena smiled again, visibly relaxed. She had the upper hand here now.
"Oh? And do tell me who your father is. I confess the name Jacobs is not familiar to me."
And it was back to casual conversation over tea. She hoped she made it quite clear that her husband was not a tool for her to use, and she was quite protective of him. She was going to have to try harder.

"Its his mother's maiden name. My father is Kamon Vondiranach, my aunt Kalia Vondiranach should be on the council in the order. My mother is a Hawk and the clan leader of the singing mountain witches"

The conversation went back to casualties and jabber. Spencer wasn't getting anywhere. Sighing softly she took a sip of her tea. Already she was failing her first trial.

There were other way, but being wanted by the Republic didn't put her in the best of places.

The Eternal Queen
Feena perked up at once, her smile going from condescending to friendly immediately.
"Ah! Yes, I know him! How wonderful! And your aunt, Kalia, was a bridesmaid at my wedding!"
she took another sip of her tea, finally able to ignore the poor flavor.

Smiling Spencer felt she might have found a way to get what she wanted. Reaching for the plate of cookies and scones she offered one to Feena.

"Ah my aunt is one of my favorites.. I do have to say her and Uncle John are hilarious. "

Remembering a certain incident she nearly choked on her tea.

" Are you close with my aunt? "

The Eternal Queen
Feena took the scone offered without even a thought to her figure. Quite a good sign that she was successfully distracted for the moment.
"I love her like a sister," she responded, "Kalia is one of my oldest friends in the Jedi Order."

"I'm glad, my aunt is very special to me as well as my uncle. I feel like their the only ones on my father's side that actually cares about me."

If Feena tried to see through it she would notice that Spencer believed that statement more than anything. Kalia attempted to comfort her and Uncle John wished for her to stay. He also said that he loved her. Spencer kept herself from being distracted.

"How were you two as Padawans? I feel like my aunt would have been a trouble maker or was that you? "

The Eternal Queen
"As padawans... Kalia was always good. She was kind to me when all the other children thought I was nothing but a snob and a bookworm."
She recalled their friendship fondly. Well, perhaps it wasn't what one would call a friendship. Feena had no friends when she was young. She didn't want friends. But they got along. That was more than most.
"I always really admired her."
