GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Name: Sarlacc minorus - Smollacc ™

  • Designation: Non-sentient

  • Homeworld: N/A, Engineered Species

  • Language: N/A

  • Average Lifespan: 1-3 years

  • Estimated Population: Scattered (manufactured)

  • Description: Smollaccs ™ are a (much) smaller version of their counterparts. Plant like, carnivorous creatures, they reside mostly below the soil line, but their enclosures are small enough to sit on a windowsill.

PHYSICAL INFORMATION

  • Breathes: Type 1

  • Average height/length of adults: 15cm

  • Average width of adults: 5cm at soil line

  • Skin color: Tan and Orange

  • Fur color: N/A

  • Distinctions: Most of a Smollacc’s body must remain beneath the soil line. Tentacle appendages, throat and beak are visible from above.

  • Races: N/A

  • Strengths:
(+)Adorable: Come on, look at it. It’s cute af. (Hey, tastes are subjective)
(+)Low maintenance: Smollacs require very little in the way of care or attention and are good for people with busy lives and schedules.

  • Weaknesses:
(-)Delicate: Smollacs are not meant to be handled and cuddled. They can be easily damaged and should be left in their containers rather than fiddled with.
(-)Short Life Span: To reach the necessary size restraints, their lifespan is severely limited. Even the maximum age of three years is only with impeccable care.

(-)Smol: Smollacs ™ are small. They should not be fed living food that could injure their tiny bodies, except for GenPals brand Live Insects.
(-)Non-Combat: These are pets! Geez what’s wrong with you. You should be ashamed.
(-)Sterile: Like all GenPals animals, Smollacs ™ are sterile to discourage irresponsible breeding.
(-)Proprietary: Like all GenPals animals, Smollacs ™ require GenPal brand food to remain healthy and within warranty. GenPals animals fed non-branded food will eventually weaken and possibly die, as they are engineered with certain nutrition needs only their proprietary blend contains in the right ratios.

CULTURE

  • Diet: GenPals Sarlacc Feed and treats, specifically GenPals brand Live Insects. Can be supplemented with fresh produce or meat to treat your new best friend! Smollaccs ™ should not be fed off brand food or it will void their warranty.

  • Communication: Rare, occasional squeaks

  • Technology level: N/A

  • Religion/Beliefs: N/A

  • General behavior: Unlike the first two animals in GenPal’s ‘Familiar Faces’ line, Smollaccs ™ are not cute and cuddly in a traditional manner. Made for those in the market for an interesting, low maintenance companion, Smollacc’s are not particularly sociable animals. They can learn to recognize the scent of their owner, and associate them with the one thing they truly love- feeding time- and may react with excitement, such as squeaking, waving tentacles or clacking their beak when their usual care taker is near.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Continuing their work with existing creatures to refine their processes, GenPals tackled the Sarlacc next. It was a controversial choice in house, due to a number of factors, not limited to their size, semi-sentient nature, and general ‘not cute’ factor. But the idea stuck, and it was allowed upon the argument that it would fill a niche in their product line that was thus far underrepresented. Not everyone who might consider purchasing a GenPal would necessarily want a furry, high maintenance companion, it was successfully argued, and there’s no accounting for taste- the idea of a tiny, countertop monster would very likely appeal to those that Bantha Buddies ™ or TinyTauns ™ did not.
