Private Smoke and Mirrors

Coruscant
Night

Classes at the University of Coruscant had already proven to be a hefty addition to Amani's already hefty schedule. It was flexible enough that she could still maintain a work-life balance, but it was nights like these where her studies required a physical presence on campus, that she really felt the grind. Becoming a doctor was never going to be easy, not even for an already-proven healer and Jedi knight. But she was committed to not wasting the opportunity.

Amani left the main campus, and had a walk ahead of her before she reached the bus stop. There was still an unshakeable sense of discomfort in walking the city alone at night, even for someone as capable as her. This route especially, where the road was unnaturally quiet tonight, and she couldn't shake the feeling that she was being watched...

A target like this was juicy to say the least. A Jedi Knight, a senator's wife, incredibly important. It explained a lot why the payment for the kidnapping was so incredibly high. It was also a temptation for the Pureblood. Jedi were always the easiest for him. For any Sith, in all honesty. But Jas, his people, had arguably more of a justification for their eradication. An eye for an eye.

But something bothered him about this particular situation. Ignoring the target's high profile, something was bugging him about who wanted this Jedi out of the picture. It could also prove dangerous for the company's reputation if word got out on who did it. Not that it was impossible to keep a lid on it, it would just be a hell of a challenge to match the amount of resources of the Alliance.

Jas was left with a conundrum. The money was the least of his concerns with this, but he could only get to the bottom of it once he had the target in his possession.

The triprismatic polymer coating his armour kept his signature low as he watched her from atop a nearby building through his scope. Masking his signature in the Force took care of the rest. Knights tended to be crafty little parasites. Loading a paralyzing dart into the slugthrower, Jas took a deep breath and lined up his shot before pulling the trigger. The precision rifle barely made a sound as it hurled the dart at his target.

Jas immediately followed up by loading another shot into the rifle and taking aim again, just in case she was sharp enough to avoid the first shot.
