DESCRIPTION

The SM Planetary Defense Cannon was developed by Loymière Shipwright as a next generation artillery platform. Based on the overall design of the Core Ship once utilized by the Separatist Alliances' Trade Federation. The Cannon comes equipped with a heavy proton cannon mounted on the top of the platform which is powerful enough to punch through ship hulls given enough time. There are additional quad laser cannons scattered throughout to defend it from attacking ground forces and a point defense system to defend against starfighter runs. Although it does come with several weaknesses that can be exploited, such as being very large in size making it a clearly visible target and its considerable weight makes it lose balance on uneven terrain. Its low maneuverability and walking speed makes it quite the sitting duck for strike teams and combined arms tactics.
