Name: S'kiss

Designation: Sentient

Origins: Skism / Natural Evolution

Average Lifespan: 180

Estimated Population: 780 Billion / Planetary

Description: A Humanoid species, hairless and rarely seen without heavy cybernetic modifications. Generally an imposing height and athletic figures.

PHYSICAL INFO

Breathes: Type I

Average Height: 2.03m - 2.26m

Average Length: 65cm

Skin Colour: Cosmetic Option / Naturally Pale Blue

Hair Colour: None

Distinctions:
  • 6 Fingers
  • Cyborg
  • Accelerated Development
  • Skin colour varies considerably as it is a cosmetic option

Races: Universal Race

Force Sensitivity: Rare

Strengths

Unity: The S'kiss have a strong sense of Unity and Xenophilic outlook on other species

Designer Species: The S'kiss are often superior to the average Humanoid Alien due to their advanced Biological Science. Designer Babies featuring particular Strength, Intelligence and Immunity genes are a common feature

Weaknesses

Xenophile - While its nice to be accepting of foreigners, S'kiss tend to be trusting and outgoing with even the shadiest of figures

Cyborgs - Having developed a culture around Cybernetic Modification, the S'kiss themselves are vulnerable to Electronic Interference, e.g, Solar Flares, EMP, Ion etc.

CULTURE

Diet:
  • S'kiss biology permits Omnivorous diets, though most choose to simply modify their bodies to forgo the need for Food energy, instead opting for more mechanical sources such as Kinetic and Solar
  • The S'kiss have evolved far beyond their primeval states. Naturally, the S'kiss are drastically different to their ancient past. Homeostasis is different to the average humanoid and far more delicate. While they often mitigate this with Cybernetics, stimulants like Drugs or Energy Dense Foods such as Carbohydrates can throw their internal states dangerously out of stability, resulting in serious health detriment.

Communication: Spoken Language (Skist) / Network Telepathy (Cybernetic)

Technology Level: Galactic Standard

Religion/Beliefs:

Post-Emergence, Religion has been purged.

They maintain Xenophillia towards foreign species regardless of their strong isolationism

General Behaviour:
  • The S'kiss are not heavily invested in parenthood due to the significant portions of responsibility being lifted from them. Infant S'kiss grow and develop at a rapid rate, learning just as fast. This leaves only a short period for dedicated Parenthood before the Infant is essentially an independent individual. This accelerated Growth is due to the heavy use of similar Genes in Gene Editing, soon leading to Evolution playing its part and instilling this aspect in almost every Embryos.

  • The S'kiss are Humanoid in nature, placing relationship value in traditional things such as Attractiveness, Personality and Body Shape with the only difference coming in Cybernetic Vanity. The S'kiss have incorporated Cybernetics quite heavily into their Culture, not least their daily lives. While we may appreciate somebodies fashion sense, the S'kiss see a lot of value in Cybernetic Aesthetics

  • With their strong sense of Unity comes an equally strong sense of Family. Home Life looks strikingly similar to the average humanoid household, with the exception being Absence. The S'kiss species work, investing a lot of time in Science and Learning. Parents and Offspring alike spend the majority of their time out in Society.
HISTORICAL INFO

One of the oldest species in the Galaxy, the S'kiss have evolved much like any other species. After transitioning into Communities and subsequently Nations, the S'kiss spent many thousands of years like most others; Greedy, Feudal and Primal in nature.

Fighting among each other, the S'kiss invested poorly in Technology and Development, choosing only to spend on what put them at the top. However, when Hyperdrive Technology was introduced to the Galaxy, it found its way to Skism and changed the species drastically.

Over the course of the next few hundred thousand years, the S'kiss grew closer and closer, slowly drawing to one common goal. Hyperdrive technology was barely used for Interstellar travel, rather opening the many Scientific pathways the S'kiss now exploit.

Eventually, the S'kiss unified and abandoned their Feudal past, converging instead on the common Technocratic Ideology. Hyperdrive Technology was essentially placed aside to collect dust while they instead chose to develop their home planet and thus their species. By focusing on themselves instead of the Galaxy, the S'kiss became a Single-Planet species. Aware of the risks associated with such an endeavour, yet continuing to grow on their planet.

Skism became an Ecumenopolis and the S'kiss species began to delve deeper and deeper into Cybernetic Augmentation and Genetic Science. They now occupy not only the surface of Skism, but miles into its Crust, numbering at 780 billion.

More recently, The Emergence Empire approached Skism. Being the Xenophiles that they are, they embraced the foreign power. After much Diplomatic Deliberation, agreeing on common goals and making tangible promises, the S'kiss allowed for a transition of power. Their confidence lay in The Emergence's ability to further advance their species. A gamble they are now reaping the benefits of.

Couple things we need here and I can stamp this.

-No issue with you including a hard number for the population, but the options in the population field are about more than just numbers, and tells folks how likely they are to encounter this species out in the galaxy. I need you to add one of the following, as per the template. From your history section, it sounds like Planetary would be accurate, but if something else works better in your mind absolutely choose the one that best describes your species:

  • Estimated Population: [ Unique (Only One Member), Semi-Unique (An extremely small number, first or last of their kind), Rare (A few groups, often limited to a single world), Planetary (A Large Concentration on a single world or system, rarely found off-world), Scattered (Smaller groups or individuals found in many places around the galaxy), Inter-Planetary (Multiple larger populations found within numerous star systems), Common (Can be found in most any space-worthy colony around the galaxy)- Optional: include a population number. ]
-Your height and length are split between imperial and metric. Let's get these both in metric.

Those are necessary edits, but one optional thing to consider:

Religion/Beliefs: Post-Emergence, Religion has been purged.
They have *no* beliefs whatsoever? Beliefs covers more than simply religion. For instance, their Xenophilia is a belief- you could include that here, perhaps what that is based on. If you'd like to flesh this section out a bit, it would really help people who may be interacting with your species in the future. This is a suggestion, however, rather than a requirement.
