  • Intent: Creating an interesting find/artefact for the Cat’s Paw and the Greystone Mercantile that they can later exchange or sell.

  • Prison: Skaidrus Dzana, as its name suggests, is a cell, a prison. A demon from the Netherworld was captured in the skull many, many thousands of years ago. Alchemized crystal and coral prevent the demon from escaping from prison.
  • Demon companion: If someone touches the skull (with their bare hands) they will be able to communicate with the demon in prison. The demon communicates telepathically, but the person does not need to have Force to do so or telepathy. As long as they hold the skull, the demon can read their mind if someone is not trained to hide them. The connection is limited to the duration of the touch, even telepathy cannot communicate with the demon unless there is a physical connection between the “victim” and the skull.
  • Wishes: The skull has the effect of being able to give the victim the deepest, most desired feelings and thoughts. The demon can convince all of this with its “victims” with mind-tricks. Note: The effect, of course, depends on the victim's willpower and mental protection.
  • Ancient knowledge: The imprisoned demon also knows a great deal of ancient knowledge in the field of alchemy and sorcery, so the demon can pass it on if someone is able to extract information from it.
    • The demon is very manipulative and malicious, so the chances of that are quite slim, but there are certainly and will be people the demon finds interesting and shares the information with them.
    • Because the demon is manipulative, the "victim" must be prepared that the prisoner wants to manipulate its victim and will try to do so in order to corrupt the person and try to persuade them to try to free it from its prison.
STRENGTHS
  • Alchemized: The gem and the coral from which the skull is made has been altered by alchemy, making the object much more resistant and harder to destroy.
  • Well protected: As long as the skull is not damaged in any way, it can most certainly contain the demon and there is no need to fear that it will escape from its prison.
  • Promises: The demon's greatest promise is that it will be able to give anything to its victim, and it can achieve these with the mind-tricks and emotion manipulation at the user. Thanks to this, the victims can really believe that the demon will make their dreams come true.
WEAKNESSES
  • Manipulative: The demon in prison has a great life experience, with which, it may be able to manipulate even the most experienced and persuade them to do things which, by its very nature, the victim would not do. Anyone can easily fall under the charm of the demon if they are not careful.
  • Addictive: Thanks to the emotion manipulation and mind tricks used, the victim can easily believe that the demon is fulfilling its greatest desires, giving them the feeling what the victim needs. This is why the weak-willed can become addicted and completely under the influence of the demon in a very short time.
  • Madness: Influencing and the emotions evoked can affect anyone, not just the weak-willed, although it is a fact that it has a greater impact on them. But if someone uses the skull for too long, those people can go crazy by using it.
  • Heavy: The crystal skull is quite heavy, so it is not easy to move with mere physical force. The crystal and coral base is also heavy, to which comes the alchemicalization. The skull is close to 100kg, to put it mildly.
  • Light: Because the crystal skull is made with Sith alchemy, the Light Side effects have a much greater effect on it. Such a Force effect makes it much easier to damage or destroy the object.
  • Force-nullification: In a place where there is no Force, the skull has no advantages, it's just a good-look (or scary) crystal skull. Nothing more.
  • Once used: Unfortunately, the prison can only be used once. If the skull gets hurt and the demon is released or escaped, there is no way to lock it back there again; from then on, the skull as a prison will be completely useless.

Darth Shadia was a pureblood Sith sorceress and alchemist who lived under Vitiate’s reign. As far as legends have survived, she has had countless experiments and attempts in science. Her relics and artefacts can also be found in various museums or private collections. And of course in different graves or hidden places, such was, among other things, this skull as well.

In one of her attempts, the woman summoned a demon from the Netherworld, but the demon escaped the woman's control and disappeared. The demon most closely resembled fairies known in mythologies, making all sorts of bargains with others; with loopholes such that it was able to avoid these and evade its victims. Very soon the demon name was associated with the mischief and curses. In most cases, a lot of the dead followed its path. That's why Shadia was trying to do something about it.

However, the woman did not succeed much, the demon was stronger than her and unable to destroy or lock it back to the Netherworld. It was then that the woman created the Skaidrus Dzana, or the Crystal Prison, into which she trapped the demon with a trick, capturing it, from which the demon could not escape to this day. To prevent the skull from falling into unauthorized hands, the Sith Lord sank the object deep into an ocean planet, hoping no one would find it, ever. She was wrong.

Recently, a few years ago, thanks to tectonic movements and earthquakes, the area where the skull was surfaced with many other valuable finds. One of the Shadows working for Greystone Mercantile found this site in ABY 864 and notified his superiors. Thanks to this, the Greystone Mercantile and its subsidiary The Cat’s Paw went out to explore its terrain, at the end of which it was one of The Cat’s Paw’s men who found the skull.

Before the artefact actually became the property of the two companies, normal organic workers did the work on the excavations, so many wanted a crystal skull for themselves, hoping for a lot of money from it. Only its looks corrupted them, they all touched the object and came under the influence of the demon, and in the end they killed each other after they all went crazy. After that, the object was secured and finally the two companies were able to transport the skull to a safe place. About the artefact, this unfortunate incident revealed what it was capable of.

The Skaidrus Dzana is a perfect example of why one should not want to touch or try to use an ancient Sith artefact without proper skill and knowledge.
