STRENGTHS

• Mass-Produced: Sith trooper armor is a mass-produced, lightweight combat armor that can be easily deployed and fitted across a multitude of body types. It offers solid protection, too, and can survive a glancing blow or two from a lightsaber if you’re lucky.

DESCRIPTION

In the aftermath of the Core’s conquest, the Sith Covenant initially outfitted its troops with captured equipment and surplus designs from the fallen Imperial regime. This has served the Covenant well as they secured power across those systems, tackling threats like rogue moffs and partisan groups. However, with the outbreak of recent wars, the Sith could no longer equip their expanding military this way without inefficiencies.

To address this problem, the Sith Covenant contracted Hydian-Wyl in secret, using unnamed factories and bogus fronts to cover for the conglomerate’s new manufacturing operation. In the style of Sith Battle Armor from the Jedi Civil War, they produced a convenient and lightweight armor design capable of withstanding blaster blows and meeting various battlefield conditions.

The flexibility-first approach gives Sith troopers an edge in urban combat, tight spaces, and hazardous conditions where heavier armor can hamper their movements. A large, transparisteel faceplate also provides excellent visibility, with the inclusion of a digital HUD and automated blast-tinting to protect the eyes from bright lights and sudden flashes - such as those from flash bangs or explosions.

However, the design is not without its trade-offs: there is extensive exposure around the thighs, arms, and upper sides, where the soldier is only protected by their body glove. Despite this, the Sith Covenant was satisfied enough with Hydian-Wyl’s new model to order full-scale production, deployed immediately to fresh recruits and as replacements for lost materiel. Some veterans may begrudge the loss of familiar armor, but many are glad to ditch the clunkier stormtrooper armor that struggled to perform in close quarters.
