OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Sith Satyiut (sʌt.ʎut)
  • Designation: Sentient.
  • Origins: Stygian Caldera.
  • Average Lifespan: Est. 10 - 15 years after transformation.
  • Estimated Population: Rare.
  • Description: The Sith Satyiut are created from many species, and they retain some of their previous appearance. However, they appear monochromatic and spectral, almost like a hologram of their former self. They appear able to interact with the physical world whey they desire, but are also known to slip through solid matter. These strange spirits do not interact with creatures around them unless confronted.
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Breathes: N/A
  • Average Height of Adults: 1.65 meters.
  • Average Length of Adults: N/A
  • Skin color: Translucent grey.
  • Hair color: Grey or white.
  • Distinctions: Their most significant trait is their translucent and slowly fading appearance. They also lose all eye colouration, leaving only white blanks that appear to be fully functional. In the beginning the Sith Satyiut looks exactly like he or she did before they were transformed. Over time, they become steadily less defined until they simply fade out of existence. This process begins with the feet and fine facial features, and slowly removes all distinguishing marks. Specimens approaching the end of their time resemble grey pillars of mist with a pair of white eyes.
  • Races: N/A.
  • Force Sensitivity: Non-Sensitive
Strengths:
  • Selective Materialisation: Sith Satyiut can choose when to materialise and when to be ethereal. They can interact with objects if they choose, but also ignore physical barriers such as walls.
  • Tireless: Sith Satyiut do not eat, do not sleep, and do not rest. Their whole life undeath is to serve their masters. They will serve their masters, and whoever their master deigns them to serve, even if it should mean their own destruction.
  • Programmed: Even though they are not sentient, Sith Satyiut are intelligent to the point where they can be programmed to a great variety of tasks. With enough training, they could maintain any structure. They are also able to program each other to a limited degree.
Weaknesses:
  • Non-Combatant: Sith Satyiut do not fight; they do not have it in them to attack anyone, even if they themselves are attacked. They may, however, run away from an attacker.
  • Force Born: Born of the Force and the vile arts of the Sith, the Sith Satyiut require the Force to be present for them to materialise. If they are removed from the Force, they cease to exist and do not materialise again.
  • Sithspawn: Sith Satyiut are easily destroyed by attacks of the Force and, as they are born of the dark side, they can easily be cleansed from existence by a pure expression of the light side of the Force (e.g: Force Light, Wall of Light). Force Lightning is also highly effective.
CULTURE
  • Diet: Other: No diet, they are sustained by the Force.
  • Communication: Telepathy.
  • Technology level: Galactic Standard (Can only operate, not invent)
  • Religion/Beliefs: N/A
  • General behavior: “Satyiut” means Servant and that is what they do. They do not feel joy or sadness for their actions as they may have in life, but simply an overwhelming compulsion to do what is requested by their master (Or whoever is given the power to control them) or what they have been programmed to do. When they are not set to a task, they tend to sit quietly or wander aimlessly. When given a task, they will perform it until completion and continue performing it as instructed. Satyiut can be easily programmed to perform a variety of tasks, but will only work within their given parameters. If they are unable to perform their tasks, they become idle again.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Three can keep a secret if two of them are dead.

Similarly, having a massive maintenance crew posed too many risks for someone like Darth Ophidia to ignore. Every crew-member is a potential information leak; their minds could be pilfered by powerful force-users or they could be spies planted by her enemies. Even machines could not be trusted, be they sliced or controlled by Mechu Deru. No, she would not allow such weakness to expose her designs.

Therefore she planted the seeds of her research into the plans of Sith-Imperial scientists and watched what they found. Combined with her own experiments in Sith Alchemy and exploration of the Netherworld, Darth Ophidia found a way to harvest a sliver of a soul, captured from the recently deceased, and then bind it to this realm of existence. To stabilise them, she studied Starweirds, which had many of the desired traits.

The ability to live in the vacuum of space was the first thing she wanted to replicate from Starweirds, thus making damage less of a key factor in loss of maintenance crew. In doing so, she found they gained the ability of selective material interaction. While unintended, it was welcome. Many of the initial experiments acted aggressively and had little control of their selective materialisation. However, further trials managed to produce steadily more servile specimens. With a decrease in aggression came an increase in control of their phasing capabilities, which proved to be more attractive qualities than aggression in a ship maintenance crew.

But perhaps most importantly, they did not know or care about anything but their specific tasks.

With enemies of the Sith Empire closing in on several fronts, Darth Ophidia put every effort into covering her tracks and completing the project within the safe confines of secrecy. Nearly all records were wiped, but not all were accounted for. Several central researchers were silenced, lest they would fall into enemy hands. Once relieved of its most crucial contents, the laboratories in Sith-Imperial space were cleansed and then saturated with radiation to deter inspection.

Reports state that some experimental specimens may still roam Malachor V.
