- Layered Defense: The armor features a composition of materials and strategic placement in order to deliver its quality protective capabilities. The majority of the actual plating is Gammaplast with Synthmesh lining which provides decent protection against glancing blaster shots and a fair amount for physical impacts. Kinetic impacts are dulled by the armored and insulated bodyglove which also ensures temperature stability, although without any dedicated life support and temperature control built into it. The heaviest portion of the armor is the Duraplate chest plating which while very defensive would have impacted mobility and weight balance if it were applied anywhere else.
- Unified Design: While the SIT armor does boast a respectable defensive quality and resilience, the implementation of how the armor actually functions means that all components must be fully functional and included. For example, the armor's actual defense against energy weapons is mostly attributable to the chestplate's energy sinks and thicker Duraplate plating. The rest of the armor, by comparison, is hardly noteworthy in terms of energy protection. The various powered components of the armor also use their own individual isolated power supplies which are easier to disable as opposed to one central power system which would be more robust.
Behind the Blackwall there is seemingly no end to the innovations and works of the Sith and their servants. The Sith Order's war machine of a nation constantly churns to ensure that its masters can maintain their military supremacy over all those beyond their realms and in this regard the Sith-Imperial Trooper armor was simply another product of their incessant tinkering and constant strive to improve the forces at their disposal.
The SIT armor was built around practical philosophies and relatively common materials so as to make production and utility of it as widespread as possible, with consideration put into modularity features and inclusions that could be done in the field or outfitted before deployment without dedicated variants and models. The first component is the insulated bodyglove which all of actual armor attaches to, however the bodyglove itself is padded and reinforced to give some base layer of protection from shrapnel and physical harm as well as environmental hazards.
Most of the armor plating is made of Gammaplast shells lined with Synthmesh reinforcement, providing ample protection while remaining relatively light and unobtrusive to movement. The chestplate serves as the most armored and robust component yet not the most complex, featuring heavier Duraplate plating and energy sinks for additional protection. The helmet, gauntlets, and boots utilize various bits of technology to ensure a comprehensive response to any battlefield conditions yet don't specialize to any significant degree so as to maintain low maintenance costs and simplified production.
