ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • Superiority Fighter: The TIE/K is outfitted with state-of-the-art offensive, defensive, sensor, and propulsion systems that gives it an edge over most other baseline starfighters. In the hands of seasoned Sith pilots, the TIE/K can wreak havoc over enemy forces.
  • Hard to Track: A combination of dedicated energy receptor projectors and ferrosphere paint make the TIE/K difficult to lock onto, while a shroud device wards off tractor beams to a sufficient degree.
  • Link Between Pilot and Fighter: Because of the Pellucid Crown interface, both Sith pilot and starfighter can work totally in tandem while in-flight. The Crown allows the pilot to deepen their connection to their fighter and perform feats that would normally be out of reach for them. Their reaction time gets cut, their situational awareness increases, and they can even boost the sensors of the starfighter beyond their average capacities.
WEAKNESSES
  • Low Squadron Count: Because of the expensive cost of the fighter, the Sith Empire can only ever afford to roll them out in squadrons of four. This reduces their overall number in naval engagements, and requires the addition of more fighters to support them in the field.
  • Force-Null Crown: Like any item crafted through Sith Alchemy, the Pellucid Crown worn by TIE/K pilots can be nullified through Ysalamiri, Void Stone, and other Force-nullifying objects or creatures.
  • Symbiotic Relationship: The Pellucid Crown grants its wearer a symbiotic relationship with their fighter, gifting them enhanced piloting skills but also exacting physical and mental anguish everytime their fighter is damaged in combat.
DESCRIPTION

The legacy of Darth Vader is a mixed bag of respect, reverence, inspiration, disgust, loathing, and pity. To some he was a powerful military figurehead, and an unparalleled pilot during not only the age of the First Galactic Empire, but also during the tumultuous Clone Wars that had preceded it. To others he was a broken monster, a self-loathing cripple who in the end destroyed one of the greatest and most successful Sith Lords in galactic history.

Whatever one's own opinion, it was commonly accepted that Darth Vader was as skilled of a starfighter pilot as they came. Many Sith in the modern galactic era often emulate this, training themselves to become fighter aces just like the ancient Vader.

As the popularity and effective of these Sith aces grew, the Emperor and his War Council realized that the mass-produced fighters were inadequate for those of the hallowed Brotherhood. Drawing upon both ancient and modern inspirations, the Emperor drew up designs for a starfighter that would combine the ferocity of the Dark Side and the skills of the pilot. To achieve this vile vision he sent word to the enigmatic [member="Cerbera"] to produce a device that would blur the lines between fighter and pilot, and she delivered on this request.

She created the Pellucid Crown.

As the starfighter itself rolled off of the assembly lines, they were further enhanced with this Crown and sent away for testing by some of the Empire's best and brightest aces. The tests were a resounding success, the Sith pilots were documented to be capable of feats previously unattainable in the average Imperial fighter, and both fighter and pilot worked together as if they were the same entity. There were several drawbacks, naturally, as such a symbiotic relationship transferred any damage the starfighter received into physical and mental anguish for the pilot.

But the Emperor did not see this as an inherent flaw, for pain fed the Dark Side. In his own words, "It was beautiful."
