Sindesmos [Taeli]

[member="Fiolette Raaf"]

"You mean you do because I distinctly remember someone complaining about just how basic and uninteresting the ships commissioned for the Empire are," Taeli teased. Then again, Taeli also agreed with her beloved on that fact, They could do with some... personal modifications by the two women and their companies. Nothing drastic, but maybe a few tweaks here or there. All for the future stability and security of the Empire, and that brought her mind straight back to the other topic floating around in her head.

Glancing down at the blueprints, notes Fiolette had made about a system from her days in the First Order she would like Taeli and her devious engineers to handle, she chewed on her lip for a moment. Bring it up now... or wait... well nobody could say she couldn't be bold sometimes.

"Dear, do you remember when I said I wanted to think about it when Lucy wanted to change the nursery into an office?" she began cautiously. "Well... I've been thinking about it and... I think it should stay that way... as a nursery that is."

Fiolette smirked and nodded in agreement, and was tempted to say never had there been a basic and uninteresting woman in her family. She withheld it and shifted the blankets on their bed and returned, "well with today's galaxy, basic and uninteresting just won't do." She went back to looking at her notes while taking a few more bites of dinner. Stylus moved along the smooth surface as she worked out revisions of a few older weapon systems. "Mhmm," she agreed as Taeli spoke about the nursery it was a topic that had been brought up somewhat early in their relationship. She informed Lucy that for the time being she could use it so long as no serious modifications were made. As at the time, Taeli had not quite settled on the idea of using it as a nursery. But, by then, Lucy had found another space to make into a study for herself and the issue had been settled.

Or so Fiolette thought.

She was somewhere between working on a new mass driver cannon and reaching for coffee when Taeli admitted that she would want the nursery to stay as a nursery. Slowly Fiolette brought her arm back and away from the cup of coffee. She turned to look at the brunette beside her, Fiolette looked at the Lorrdian with a rather serious expression."Oh?" It was not that Fiolette did not want children, she herself - had been done with bearing them. Fiolette had thought that given Taeli's familial situation she may one day want to pursue this. However she had not expected it to come so soon, rather - so soon after their discussion regarding the topic. "What changed your mind?"

Because, if Fiolette was being completely honest. The very notion of having children with Taeli thrilled her, however; it also scared her. She had been terrible with her girls, the kind of terrible that should've been brought back behind the stables and shot for. Did she show this fear, no, but there would be no hiding it. Deep within her own mind the fears reared up the shouting match with Josef just the other day to be more exact floated back and the Galidraani was somewhat apprehensive. Nevermind trying to figure out how two women would go about creating children.

"Well..." she trailed off, blushing rather a lot now. "I... you know how... well I'm the last of my family and... I... want to... I want to try and have a child."

She rushed the last bit, her face beat red because it was rather embarrassing, and it was about to get a lot more.

"I... well I did some research... as I do... and well... genetic therapy could... well we could induce it, and I... well, made something... for it... um oh this is super embarrassing. See I designed a... tool that could change cells that enter it to the ummmm proper ones needed for... well you know..."

She coughed.

"And then it could... well you can guess, please don't make me say it out loud."

Right, Fiolette knew Taeli was the last of her blood. And she followed Taeli's fumbling explnation about wanting to have a child followed by research, genetic therapy and something about a tool that could change cells. So she took a deep breath, and exhaled while setting her tablet and notes on the nightstand. She took a little more time to put dinner back on the tray and then onto the tray stand again beside the bed. All so she could process whatever it was Taeli was attempting to say. Of course her beloved had flushed, coughed even pleaded not to be forced to say whatever it was she was trying to say. The Galidraani looked at the woman, with a rather plain if albiet confused expression. "Let me see if I follow, you want to have baby and you've done research, involving genetic therapy and a tool that will help us to do this, yes?"

Well, Taeli was always very thorough on her research and clearly it was upsetting - embrassing rather for Taeli to even try to broach this. Fiolette looked away from Taeli a second to try and put it all together, she pulled her hair to one side and absent mindedly began to braid it while thinking. "Just..." Fio's words began before she catch them, "Taeli, I ... I'm not so sure." She turned in the bed to face her wife completely, "I've had children before, four of them, and I am - putting it mildly; terrible." Still, Fiolette was in the back of her mind at least trying to put two and two together from Taeli's earlier statemnts, "Terrible at parenting."

"And, I... I would love to make babies with you, but darling I do not want to make orphans or make the same mistakes that I've made in the past," she remarked sincerely. "I love you, and I would do anything to make you happy .. I just." She was afraid of reverting to her old habits and ruining this very beautiful thing they had.

"Oh Fio," she whispered, coming over to embrace her beloved. This she could do comfort, the redhead. Yes, that was much easier for her and it let her get a handle on her own embarrassment. "There were other circumstances that led to what happened with your children. You had your sights set on a career, and nothing was going to get in the way of that. You were scared too. You saw how close the Netherworld came to catching you, and you took drastic actions out of fear."

She took her beloved's hand, kissing the knuckles gently.

"But none of that is hanging over you now. You aren't driven by a need to prove yourself, you already have. You're making amends for what happened, and we both know that even if something happened to us, there are others who might look after any... children we have."

Plus... Taeli may have been... impatient on the prototype.

"I want this... with you."

Fio sat in their bed, Taeli straddled over her lap and as the Galidraani closed her eyes. She felt her lover's hands cup her face, Fio heard the words that were spoken. Taeli put it all together, put her, together and she was right. The redhead was not the same women from all those years ago. She had changed, and she had nothing to prove, and she did want to make things right. To fix, mend whatever it was she could fix. I want this, with you.

It was enough for Fio to open her eyes, an azure gaze captivated by a pair of amethyst orbs looking right at her. Her expression softened, she could see it now. Fiolette could see the desire in Taeli's eyes, she wanted children and she wanted to go on this journey with the Galidraani. To embark on the journey of motherhood once more, and this time with the woman she loved most in all this galaxy. "Okay," she managed in a soft spoken voice. "Okay, let's do this, I don't know how but... let's do this."

She hadn't known that Taeli had already come up with a plan, but that - that would be discussed soon enough. And, one last thing that hadn't been discussed which would be spoken later in the night. Fiolette would take Taeli's name, for Yvarro represented a chapter in her life. A chapter that she was very much ready to close, and begin a new chapter with Raaf. Their force bond made their commitment to one another obvious. A change of name, only sealed the matter in Fiolette's eyes. And so it was, for Fiolette and Taeli Raaf.
