SPECIAL FEATURES
  • The alchemized particles of sand are capable of rendering one's opponent extremely sleepy, so much so that most would be very quick to fall into a slumber should it reach their eyes.
  • The pouches used to contain it are beautiful works of art in and of themselves, and are highly durable thanks to the terentatek leather.
STRENGTHS
  • Drowsy: This sand is capable of rendering one's opponent extremely sleepy.
  • Durable Packaging: The pouches which house the sand are extremely durable as per the nature of terentatek leather.
WEAKNESSES
  • Not Bottomless: Though the pouch is capable of holding a fairly large amount of sand, given how small sand actually is, there is a limit and once empty it would require the whole process to be redone anew. More sand would have to be painstakingly alchemized to refill it, a process which takes time and effort.
  • Not Forever: The effects of the sand do not last infinitely, within five to sixty minutes (depending on how susceptible an individual is to the effects) the target will awaken rather refreshed. There will be no lasting or lingering effects.
  • Precise: If it doesn't enter their eyes, it isn't going to work! One must be precise when flinging it at their target. Use of the Force is highly advised to avoid wasting it!
  • Finnicky: It's not exactly the best tool to use mid battle. Between opening the pouch, grasping the sand, and attempting to perfectly fling it at one's enemy, more often than not other avenues are preferred.
  • Force Light/Other Nullifying Effects: As per usual, the effects of the sand can be nullified. In the presence of ysalamiri it's temporarily invalidated, and should it be subjected to Force Light the effects would be removed entirely.
  • Pick and Choose: The pouch is only capable of holding so much sand. While separators can be utilized to carry a selection of different sands (for example, Perfectly Perplexing Pocket Sand and the Sandman Special, or one of the other upcoming variants), you will naturally end up with a much smaller quantity of each than you would if you opted for just one type. It's simple math, really!
DESCRIPTION
Following the creation of Perfectly Perplexing Pocket Sand, Thesh realized there was much untapped potential in the realm of weaponized sand. His second delve into it conforms around the notion of the Sandman, a fantastical figure who could put people to sleep with little more than grains of sand. He utilized much of the same techniques he worked through with the original, altering the effects so that they would induce a sleepy state in whoever's eyes it entered instead of rendering them temporarily blind.

While the two have similar utility - to end a fight prematurely without having to resort to violence - this newer form was a little more potent but also inconsistent. To some it would only make them sleepy - still unable to really commit to the fight, but on their feet and mostly awake all the same - and to others it could induce a sleep state for upward of an hour.... Or anything in-between. (This is obviously up to the writer it affects!)

With it came another issue. The trio of pouches he created could only hold so much sand, and mixing of their particles rendered each useless. Instead when offering this new sand to the two he'd gifted the original pouches to he provided them also with some separators which would sit on the inside and keep them from touching should they wish to carry more than one type of sand at a time. This did limit how much of each they could bring, however. Right now it would be only half of a pouch per sand type, but Thesh is far from done with his sandy creations and in the future it could become much more of a difficult decision to select which of them they wish to carry at any given time.
