Intent: In Order to create a unique piece of technology that will allow Silara to ensure Alric is still alive
Development Thread: http://starwarsrp.net/topic/51673-a-gift-for-you/
Manufacturer: Titan Industries
Model: Silara's Ring
Affiliation: Silara Kuhn
Modularity: No
Production: Unique
Material: Phrik, Platinum, Corusca Gem, Cerulean Gemstones, Circuitry
Description:
In theory, this ring is just that, a ring.

In practice the ring is technically much more. Visually the ring itself appears as a simply band on Platinum. Upon the band sit a series of gems. A single Corusca gem was broken up into dozens of smaller pieces, the largest part of the Corusca gem was placed into the central housing of the ring. Smaller pieces of the Gem were then set into housings around the ring, surrounding it and giving the platinum and accented sheen. Placed on the sides of the larger piece of the Corusca Gem are two Cerulean Gemstones.

These gems were procured from Kashyyk, smuggled out by a Trandoshan slaver in the employ of Titan Industries. These gems are often used by the Wookiees in sacred art and are considered rare, if not impossible to find. Their acquisition took the longest of all the things Alric had to find.

The band of the ring is a special alloy of Phrik and Platinum. This means the band retains some of the qualities of phrik, such as being nearly indestructible while giving off a greater luster than ordinary phrik would. Obviously blocking a lightsaber with the ring would be unlikely, though technically still possible.

The materials of the ring including the band and the gems means its worth an excessive amount of money, and much like Silaras Necklace sits well above the price range for an expensive apartment within 500 Republica.

As with all technology produced by Titan Industries this ring is no ordinary ring. Instead, embedded within is a small bit of circuitry as well as slight buffer. This buffer creates a small pulse on the inside of the band when worn, this pulse activates from a signal that the ring receives. Said signal comes from a small device worn by Alric Kuhn which monitors his heartbeat. When the ring receives this signal it pulses at the same beat as Alrics heart. In effect, the ring is a heartbeat monitor, allowing Silara to check if Alric is still alive or to simply feel a part of him when she's traveling the galaxy.

The signal can be turned on and off via a small touch switch on the lower surface of the ring. The signal works much like that in Silaras necklace.
