SPECIAL FEATURES
Particle Beam Technology- Offering an explosion of energy when a shot fired makes contact with an object, this weapon can be useful against all manner of enemies, from armored opponents to lightsaber wielding Jedi.
Single and Burst Fire Mode- Burst fire triggers two shots in immediate succession, one to potentially bring down a shield or damage armor and the second to attempt to penetrate. Can be fired in either mode with a flick of the thumb.
Miniature Shield Generator- To signify the value the Sith Empire allocates to its high-ranking personnel, the SIF-7 comes with a miniature deflector shield generator integrated into its casing. A strong squeeze of the grip will activate it around the wielder. It is designed for one person, but if a second sentient is clinging tight to the wielder it should be possible to accommodate that as well depending on their size.
Particle Beam Tech - Yields a high energy explosion on impact, offering both thermal and kinetic damage that can be particularly useful against armored foes, normal (i.e. not heavily reinforced or most military grade) structures, and lightsaber wielding opponents, as it cannot be deflected the same way a normal blaster bolt can be.
Personal Deflector Shield - Each Activation of the Personal Deflector Shield has a duration of sixty seconds. A full recharge also takes sixty seconds. It can, however, be used without the recharge in times of great need- this depletes the battery that charges the Particle Beam technology, however. Each activation that does not wait for the cool down time depletes five shots from the current ammunition load. If that battery is drained completely, the blaster cannot fire, though the deflector shield can still be used with its sixty second recharge period.
Limited Ammunition - This is not a weapon to pepper the enemy with willy-nilly. With only thirty shots before the battery and canister must be swapped out, it must be used with deliberation and precision, especially if the Deflector shield may be needed on a continuous basis.
Slow Reload - Since both the battery and canister have the same capacity, trading both out is a slow process and requires time, attention, and possibly cover, to attend to.
Goes Down Kicking - The combination of the size and the unstable nature of particle beam tech gives the ‘Minos’ a heavy recoil. Using it accurately requires practice and those not prepared for the kick can be just as dangerous to their own as the enemy.
Open Air - This weapon is not recommended for use in enclosed spaces like building interiors or star ships. A stray shot could cause undesirable side effects that would risk the safety of those inside.
EMP Vulnerability - The pistol has no resistances to EMP or Ion fields/pulses built in. If either of those are used the 'Minos' will be no more than a fancy paper weight until the field is exited, or a full power up, reset and calibration (which takes time and is not safe on a field of battle) can be done.
Electricity Vulnerability - A heavy current of electricity can short out the shield portion of the 'Minos' entirely, and potentially ruin the power cell requiring it be swapped out before the gun can be fired again.
While Akure Executive Interstellar worked on an Armada Officer’s Dagger, a sister item for the Legion was designed and created as well. Durable, with surprising stopping power for its size, the SIF-7 ‘Minos’ is a compact, angry little son of a gun. The design is sleek and intuitive to use, though actual training is required to become proficient due to the high recoil and destructive capabilities. Additional training is offered for utilization in less common tactics potential with the SIF-7. Meant for Officers, rather than the rank and file, the small production and distribution, makes the ‘Minos’ is a status symbol within the Legion, each one registered to its owner and retired with that officer’s death (in the line of duty or otherwise).
