- Safe and Sound: The SIB-14's potent stun bolts are capable of taking down even armoured targets while remaining entirely nonlethal.
- Droidbuster: The SIB-14's ion bolts are highly effective against droids, cyborgs, electronic devices, and even certain vehicles!
- Size Matters: While more powerful than the average stun pistol, the SIB-14 struggles with especially large, durable, or well-armoured targets.
- Fried Brains: Unlike the stun mode, the ion mode may very well be "lethal" - direct hits to poorly shielded droid brains may fry them outright, due to the weapons' high-yield, and ionic energy is obviously incapable of differentiating between combat and medical cybernetics.
Initially designed as a far less lethal (and much more humane) alternative to the Sunfury, the SIB-14 is a more conventional weapon, though still predictably advanced. A flexible design, the weapon is capable of producing both stun and ion bolts with little to no loss of efficiency!
Somewhat more expensive than your average stun or ion pistol, its small size and cheap materials nonetheless make it a viable choice for civilian and military uses alike, with Erakhian marines in particular often carrying nonlethal sidearms due to the lack of a stun setting on the pulse cannons they tend to favour. That said, the weapon is most commonly seen in the hands of less militarised personnel, such as police or corporate security.
