Intent: To develop a power cell using Sianium for new blasters
Development Thread: http://starwarsrp.net/topic/74611-frozen-refinement/
Manufacturer: Aurora Industries
Model: Sianium Blaster Power cell
Affiliation: Aurora Industries, Open Market
Modularity: None
Production: Mass-produced
Material: Sianium, durasteel, power converter components

Description:

With the sources of Sianium secured by Aurora Industries, development began on the next stage of Project Galvani. With the supplies secured, the Aurora engineers began to tackle their next task: Actually utilizing the Sianium gathered and produced, and creating viable power cells for blaster weapons. Utilizing a two step process to prepare the Sianium, using a particle exciter to get the Sianium's molecules into a highly charged state and then bombarding the Sianium with a particle accelerator to further enhance their power capabilities, Aurora engineers were able to create a new power cell for use in blaster technology.

The new Sianium power cell can increase a blaster's power output by a magnitude of three, which while not the boast of tenfold from the old Project Siantide, is an impressive feat. An equipped blaster will have a much stronger blaster bolt than any currently in use due to this, however there are some limitations.

The power cell itself utilizes Sianium, which is unstable, and if the cell overheats or is hit by an enemy attack, it will explode. The cell also exhausts a blaster's gas canister faster, meaning a blaster will have fewer, but stronger bolts. Lastly, because of the power output being above anything normal blaster power cells can reach, an existing weapon would need to be modified first before accepting a Sianium power cell.
