Approved Armor Siae's Leather Jacket

[Siae Andronike]

DESCRIPTION
As part of her Padawan Trials, Siae was tasked with traveling incognito to the jungle moon of Va'art, where she tracked and eventually slew a large Taozin, alone. The carcass of the slain beast was her trophy, and Siae painstakingly skinned the creature, conditioning and tanning its leather, then crafting several pieces of her armor with it. This jacket was one such piece. Siae searched the HoloNet, finding the Corellian-cut style she used, and meticulously crafted her jacket to have the same aesthetic appeal and timeless style as those she based it on. Treated to withstand inclement weather and high winds, it was then oiled and rubbed to achieve a soft, form-fitting wear, before it was stained to a deep reddish-chestnut color with a dye mixing together Norris Root oils with Nullification Resin (which had been a Parliament trick since it's earliest days, thanks to the idea of one of its founders, Hinna Gallis), which not only enhanced its protective qualities but also made the already Force-elusive Taozin-shell leather difficult to detect using a reverse search of the Force, seeking for 'blank spots' within it, by dampening the overall signature of the jacket – and its wearer – significantly. This is akin to a snubfighter having the radar cross-section of a butterfly. This two-fold elusiveness in the Force makes it very, very hard – if not impossible – for most Force-users to find her alone, and even if several were to coordinate their search, the task would still likely be lengthy and difficult!

Siae wanted something stylish, classic, and above all, something that seemed to 'ooze' with her personality, and in this jacket, she's found it. Tough, durable, cleverly elusive, and prepared for most any challenge, the jacket is a reflection of its owner, an extension of her personality and character.

SPECIAL FEATURES

• Stealth: Impregnated with Durinium, the jacket could withstand scans by most commonly encountered scanners and sensors, safeguarding items within it and making detection of its wearer much more difficult, though not impossible, to achieve.

• Force Qualities: Made from Taozin-shell leather and treated with Nullification Resin, this garment possessed the same disguising characteristics as those has by Taozin themselves, and the addition of the Nullification Resin served to dampen the null signature in the Force, meaning that while a Force-user making a concentrated search for 'holes' or 'blank spots' in the Force as an alternative Force-based search method for the wearer, they would not sense such things as strongly or easily, making the likelihood of these alternative Force-based searches quite possibly fruitless as well.
• Stylish & Comfortable: Dyed to a deep reddish-chestnut brown color, with a distressed, 'lived-in' appearance, the Corellian-cut style remains a timeless classic, popular throughout the galaxy. Lightweight and comfortable, it is easily worn for hours, not limiting movement or provoking fatigue from long-term wear, and guarded against inclement weather, high winds, and blowing sand or debris.
• Designed for Durability and Travel: The ridiculously tough leather and careful protective treatments applied made it exceptionally resistant to a number of types of damage, be they incurred through direct combat, by being subjected to hostile and rugged environments or messy, dangerous surroundings, or just by decades of normal wear and tear. Whatever you encounter, this jacket is likely to make it through. More, cleverly concealed in the lining are hidden pockets that allow for safekeeping of documents, credits, small tools or weapons, even a spare breath mask if need be! Due to the slight padding of the concussive absorbing materials and shrewd design, a simple 'pat-down' by a nightclub bouncer, arresting security officer, or a simple, cursory search by travel security, or the nimble fingers of some of the galaxy's best pickpockets won't find your secret stash! Additionally, it features two large exterior pockets, two handwarmer pockets, and three 'overt' internal pockets (two left side, upper and lower, and one right side upper). Elastex cuffs and hem ensure a snug fit and guards against drafts.

STRENGTHS

• Low-Profile Comfort and Wearability: Custom-tailored for its owner, Siae Andronike's jacket is a Corellian-cut Field Jacket, with a 'lived-in' and 'distressed' look to it. Lightweight, well-made, and durable, it doesn't inhibit movement and is not cumbersome for her to wear, making it comfortable and easy to wear for long periods of time in a wide variety of conditions.
• Uncommon Protection: Able to ward off direct hits by blaster-type weapons and even – at least for a time – lightsabers, as well to deflect melee weapons (including vibro-weapons) thanks to its lining, and shrug off an impressive amount of concussive force as well, this jacket provides Siae with an impressive, yet lightweight and unassuming, armor. It is treated and conditioned to guard against inclement weather and high winds, resilient against acids and other corrosive substances, and is even resistant to flame and burning, as well as against abrasions, cuts, tears, and punctures.
• Unprecedented Stealth: Offering exceptional defense against detection using the Force, even against those searching for 'blank spots' within the Force, and guarding against most handheld and walk-through scanners, droid-and-gear-mounted sensors, and even those used by most municipal or backwater system authorities, the jacket makes eluding detection and slipping past security a breeze in most cases. Hidden pockets within it are cleverly concealed, making them practically unlikely to be found in a cursory search or pat-down.
• Crowd-Blending Elusiveness: Albeit stylish, the choice to fashion this jacket in a Corellian-cut style, popular with spacers, pilots, swoop racers, and countless others across practically every class, species, and culture in the galaxy, the garment does very well to blend into crowds and seems to melt into its environs. Dyed to a dark reddish-chestnut brown, with a distressed, 'aged' look, it appears neither new or unique and doesn't actually stand out in most any place. Its dull brown color allows it to seem to 'disappear' in dim lightning or under the cover of darkness, and can blend into a variety of environments, from desert worlds to jungles and forests to bustling urban centers.

WEAKNESSES

• Good Stealth, Not Great Stealth: It's a leather jacket, not a high-tech stealth raider. Any military-grade scanner, or the sensor suite of anything bigger than a starfighter or shuttle, is going to likely spot Siae while she wears this jacket. Further, any security officer or whomever else who makes a real, focused, earnest search is pretty likely to find the concealed pockets within it.
• It's Not A Survival Jacket or EVA Suit: This jacket won't keep you in space if you fall out of an airlock, nor can it do much about extreme heat or cold, nor will it stop a sonic weapon or disruptor shot, and if you fall off anything higher than a speeder bike, or if you take a high-powered slugthrower round to center-mass, it's gonna smart – probably a lot. It's just a jacket, after all.
