ceremony, where efforts following the second Chiss civil war will

be rewarded and dedication shared by all; following this objective all

personnel are dismissed and can take part in the following:

The city of Losca is a city wholly dedicated to providing the Chiss with luxury resort living,

which spans hundreds of miles, providing mostly every want or need for coveted leave

from military service. Following the overturning of Jen'ari occupation, the Defense Hierarchy

has prepared a fully paid and funded Losca account for military personnel to enjoy.

Sharb.

Once a planet controlled by a ruling family, Sharb was considered a wealthy commodity for the Chiss Ascendancy. When Sharb was attacked in the Swarm War, it was left in relative ruins, little more than a husk of its former self. However over several decades, the ruling family in charge of the colony planet began rebuilding, investing their fortunes and resources into a lavish estate. In time, this estate expanded, as more Chiss migrated to live in a more luxurious surrounding than the tunnels of Csilla, which in turn brought tourism, finance and further expansion of what would come to be known as the city of Losca.

With plans to further turn the planet into a luxury getaway, the ruling family intended to continue Losca's growth, aiming to be a resort world aimed at financial gain for the Chiss Ascendancy. However, the first Chiss Civil War brought an end to that, with the ruling house being removed from power and most of their resources absorbed by other rivals, leaving the planet Sharb in a half-finished state. Still, while the rest of Sharb remains undeveloped and mostly barren, Losca is still a large and thriving resort city that caters to much of the military personnel's need for shore leave; and with hundreds of miles of rich and extravagant restaurants, bars, hotels and shopping megaplexes, it has been a popular location for vacations by many Chiss.

Now, with the successes of the Chiss Ascendancy overcoming the Jen'ari threat and occupation, the Defense Hierarchy have deemed it appropriate to offer their serving men and women a chance at some much deserved shore leave. The resort city of Losca has been reserved for all branches of the Chiss military, with all costs and charges fully funded by Hierarchy leadership, as thanks for service and efforts taken to ensure the freedom of the Chiss people.

After a civil war, sector claims and offensive against the Killik, the military of the Chiss Ascendancy finally has seven days of luxury vacation time in thanks for their service...

And so, following transport and lodging approvals, including allies that have assisted the Ascendancy in its endeavors, the service men and women of the Chiss attend a service ceremony aboard the Chiss Star Destroyer named The Tenasas; from there, on completion of the ceremony, transports were prepped and ready to transfer all personnel down to the planet Sharb, to the resort city of Losca...

Objective 0: Promotion & Recognition Ceremony

The Tenasas, one of the largest vessels in the CEDF, was filled with countless military personnel in neat rows and ranks. They were present for the service ceremony about to take place, which was being headed by members of the Defense Hierarchy personally, with High Admiral of the Fleet Wasd'odone'vlesoc standing on a raised platform at the fore of the gathering. The primary hangar of the Tenasas had been cleared for the occasion and thousands of soldiers, pilots, officers and crew were given ample room to attend and be present for the ceremony. When the High Admiral stepped forward, hands at his sides rigidly, the voices and murmurs died down and the older Chiss spoke into the podium amplifiers...

"Greetings, men and women of the Ascendancy military and our allies, it is an honor to be responsible for this service ceremony today," Wasd'odone'vlesoc said, his hardened features showing pride as he scanned the masses of gathered Chiss. "It has been a trying time for our people. Turmoil surrounded our futures once again, with the occupation of the Jen'ari Empire, and were it not for the actions of so many of you, they would still be here to this day. The Defense Hierarchy also recognizes, and thanks, it's allies who came to the Ascendancy's aid with the incursion of the Jen'ari. We owe them our gratitude and will fulfill that debt with support and continued alliances remaining strong."

Wasd'odone'vlesoc looked at the faces of his military.

"While every single one of you has provided an important service to our current state, to the sanctity and freedom of the Chiss, but we cannot deny that some have gone even further in their service to the Chiss as a whole. These individuals have gone above and beyond the call of duty, to take actions that have largely impacted our freedom from the hold of another tyrant Empire, and as such have been deemed recipients of personal promotions and recognition," Wasd'odone'vlesoc looked to his aid, nodding, as she stepped forward and held out the awards box. "Beginning with the CEDF, the following officers have been presented for promotion in rank..."

Mitth'orn'eruod stood silently, red eyes looking at the podium, as the High Admiral spoke. He had been informed of an upcoming promotion, as reward for his actions during the second civil war on Csilla, where the Vice Admiral had been directly involved in countering the occupation of the Jen'ari. It had been a pleasant surprise, not one he had specifically desired, but Mitth'orn'eruod would be lying if he said it wasn't a goal in his career. As to whether he would be appointed as a subordinate to another Admiral remained to be seen, however...

"...we thank you, Captain Vrard'moz'ricoqh, and look forward to seeing your career develop with your new Captaincy." The High Admiral offered a salute, before reaching for another medal and looking for the next officer to be promoted. "Next, I would call upon Captain Vhirr’bel'laminis, who's strategic skill and strikegroup leadership were essential in defeating the Killik threat above the planet Noris, to which the Defense Hierarchy recognizes those efforts and awards the rank of Commodore. Very well done, Commodore Vhirr’bel'laminis, we are watching your career with great interest."

Wasd'odone'vlesoc shook the officer's hand, presenting the new rank badge, before turning to his assistant for the next.

"And finally, for the CEDF, the Defense Hierarchy calls Vice Admiral Mitth'orn'eruod to the podium. Some of you will recognize this officer for his part in the civil war, in acting for the Chiss people amid the enemy on Csilla, and taking rapid action to secure the arrest of the corrupt Ruling House Aristocra. Not only that, but the Vice Admiral has been involved with more recent expansion of Chiss Space and has proven his abilities against our enemies numerous times in the past. For these actions, and his part in helping to reclaim the Ascendancy's freedom, the Defense Hierarchy promotes Vice Admiral Mitth'orn'eruod to Admiral of the Second Fleet."

Mitth'orn'eruod, who had walked purposefully onto the raised platform, stopped in front of the High Admiral and saluted. The pair exchanged a handshake, before a new rank bar was placed on Mitth'orn'eruod's chest.

"Thank you, High Admiral, I hope to continue to strive and pursue the interests of the Chiss."

"Do us proud, Admiral." Wasd'odone'vlesoc nodded, offering a smile. The newly promoted officer stepped off the platform and resumed his place in the ranks. "We now recognize individuals from the CEMC, who showed great bravery during both the civil war and recent actions against the Killik colony on Noris. I would like to call on Sergeant Flaz'suz'safis. Your decisive actions taken against the Killik central colony have been reported by fellow officers, showing both bravery and willingness to overcome against great odds. The Defense Hierarchy awards you the rank of Lieutenant."

Wasd'odone'vlesoc picked up a final medal, and leaned forward to announce.

"And the final promotion for this ceremony, I would like to call upon Medical Officer Brask'ari'sabosen, who's actions and rapid response allowed for many marine lives to be saved across several of our expansive efforts," Wasd'odone'vlesoc said as he shook the officer's hand, nodding. "Your continued efforts in the medical field, and in providing effective medical aid to our military troops, is of the utmost importance and your new rank of Chief Medical Officer ensures you have the position to maximize those efforts. Do us proud, Chief Medical Officer Brask'ari'sabosen."

Finally, Wasd'odone'vlesoc cleared his throat and looked back to the gathered personnel.

"I, and the Defense Hierarchy, would also like to extend thanks to those of us here who have proven their dedication and willingness to the Chiss beyond a doubt, but are otherwise unable to be publicly recognized," It was no secret the High Admiral was addressing the Chiss Commandos and Intelligence Officers, who were likely hiding in plain sight amid the gathering, but were required to keep identities concealed. "I understand thanks isn't the same as a rank or medal, however with every operation you complete, the Defense Hierarchy are personally involved with debriefing your efforts... and you are all truly appreciated, your service unquestionable.

"And with that, congratulations to you all. Please enjoy the hospitality Losca has to offer, as the Defense Heirarchy handles the credit. You are encouraged to make your way to the waiting transports, which will take you planetside. Until then, you are dismissed and free to converse among yourselves."

"Alright! It's time to get our drink on!" Dezoti practically cheered once the ceremony was completed. She had been waiting for the day she could finally let her hair down and relax. After the Civil War and learning about Fissure and Wraith, she needed a day to relax. Or a week. Maybe a week of duty was willing to let the 21st off for that long. She was all dressed up in bright colors, her hair all up. It was of course, a ruse.

Objective 0 - Promotion & Recognition Ceremony

Flaz'suz'safis so wanted to scratch an itch caused by the rough fabric of her dress uniform, but the Marine Sergeant of the 9th Battalion stood stoically at parade rest in line with the rest of Theta squad; ignoring the irritation and distraction to the best of her abilities. To say she couldn't wait to change out to civies and let her hair down so to speak was an understatement. Suz planned to live in the moment during the week of R & R at the resort on Sharb.

The CEDF were awarded their promotions and recognitions first by the High Admiral of the Fleet. The elder Chiss called up amongst other navy officers Captain Vhirr’bel'laminis, who was elevated to Commodore for her decisive tactics at the Battle of Noris. After that, Vice Admiral Mitth'orn'eruod was to follow; saving the biggest for last. He was recognized for his solid leadership and bravery during the Civil War and since. The upcoming Chiss leader would become the Admiral of the 2nd Fleet. Both promotions well deserved.

What happened next caught Flaz'suz'safis totally off guard. She had no idea that Captain Chaf'arcar'usorn had put in for his sergeant to be promoted after the events of the ground battle against the Killiks on Noris. The Squad Leader was just doing her job, completing the mission with results and watching over the marines under her command with no casualties and only minor injuries sustained. When her name was called, Suz stepped out of line and walked up to the podium with precision, then accepted the new rank bars with measured pride.

"Thank you, sir."

After a handshake and crisp salute to Wasd'odone'vlesoc, the newly minted Lieutenant walked back to her spot with the Niners. The rest of the ceremony and those honored was a bit of a blur for the humbled orphan. Flaz'suz'safis was really going to have something to celebrate now, and definitely get that itch scratched as soon as possible.

Objective 0 - Promotion & Recognition Ceremony

Brask'ari'sabosen watched and listened thoughtfully as others before her were called up to the ceremonial podium in the hangar bay of the Tenasas by the High Admiral of the Fleet to receive their promotions; those of the Navy and Marines as the Intel personnel and Commandos were done privately for security reasons.

The Chiss doctor was being awarded the rank of Chief Medical Officer this day. It was a bittersweet moment for Ari as her heartstrings tugged a bit tighter when walking up to the front of the group gathered thinking of her late mother. Brask'eri'sabosen had served in the Chiss Medical Corps as well. Her life and service with the CEDF was cut short when she was killed in the line of duty before having a chance to reach this high rank. Her daughter would carry on for the both of them, and make the Chiss Ascendancy proud as well as House Sabosen.

"I will, High Admiral Wasd'odone'vlesoc. Thank you, sir," the newly minted CMO answered with a sharp salute given before she returned to her place.

When the ceremony had come to an end and they were dismissed, Brask'ari'sabosen moseyed over to where official holos were being taken. She posed for one that would be sent to her father as Syndic Miith'oru'sabsen was back on Sposia now taking care of House Phalanx business for the family, and Ascendancy as well.

Objective 0: Promotion & Recognition Ceremony

Vrott'ryen'uortoqh waited on one of the transports, which was docked inside the Tenasas hangar, not far from the service ceremony taking place. While on Noris, the commando had suffered quite severe injuries from an incident involving the Noris manor. The result had left him in drastic need of bacta tank recovery, forcing him to miss another mission with his squad in the process. But now, with a his right leg and right arm in plasticast, the tall commando was looking forward to relaxing - even if it meant he had to hobble around after his fellow commandos and friends. In order to save time, and avoid agitating his injuries, Vrott'ryen'uortoqh had been loaded onto the transport early; just a courtesy by the medics, really, so he could observe the proceedings for promotions without straining by standing for a long period.

Now, hunched in the transport seat, the tall commando waited for things to wrap up. There was a sense of annoyance at the lack of real recognition the commandos were given, but he could understand the need to keep their identities secret, in order to perform their duties. If everyone knew who the black ops teams were, they wouldn't be very effective, so begrudgingly Vrott'ryen'uortoqh accepted the thanks from the High Admiral when it happened. Still, perhaps the Captain had some other plans in mind for the commandos, maybe some promotions were in the cards internally - with approval from the Defense Hierarchy, of course.

But, until then, Vrott'ryen'uortoqh would simply keep doing his duty. At the end of the day the work he did as a commando was far more important than a rank badge on his chest...

HANGAR BAY OF THE TENASAS
Objective 0: Promotion & Recognition Ceremony

Chaf'arcar'usorn watched the proceedings of the ceremony with a sense of pride. He had recommended one of his subordinates for a promotion, without her knowledge, and hoped it had been a pleasant surprise. While the marine Captain had been passed over for promotion this time, which he wasn't overly concerned with, he did look forward to eventually taking the next step up the rank ladder. Still, seeing Flaz'suz'safis on the podium, addressing the High Admiral as the new rank badge was presented, made the ceremony worth it. Not to mention the medals several marines were awarded for bravery and thanks for service. There had also been a touching ceremony held for the lost, those marines that had died against the Killik forces, with the Niners honoring their dead brothers and sisters before the High Admiral's address.

War was bittersweet.

As the ceremony came to a close, Chaf'arcar'usorn looked down the rows of his marines with increasing pride. They were one of the best platoons in the CEMC, there was no doubt, and having a new Lieutenant - and a half dozen other rank promotions by other members - just went to show how well they were doing for the Chiss. When Flaz'suz'safis rejoined the Niners ranks, Chaf'arcar'usorn nodded in her direction, not wanting to disrupt the High Admiral's speech for the less public members of the military; namely the commandos and spooks, who had to remain incognito for their own operational viability.

But, when it was all said and done, Chaf'arcar'usorn walked over to the newly minted Lieutenant and offered a quick salute and handshake.

"Congratulations, Lieutenant," Chaf'arcar'usorn said with a lopsided grin, before he motioned to the transports. "You ready to celebrate? If I recall, you're owed quite a few drinks..."

The Niners let out some whoops and cheers, letting their support be known, before most began moving toward the transports and shuttles...

Within the privacy of the transport, sat alongside his brother-in-arms, Mitth'adrin'nvtae sat with his arms crossed and head bowed. Similarly to Tryenu, he had been on medical leave since Noris, however, his leave was due to his mental health rather than his physical. Upon realising that his old friend Fissure wasn't dead as first thought but that he was instead alive had been a blow to his sense of stability in and off itself, but, to find out that he had become a Joiner within a nest of Killiks had sent his mind reeling and numbed his heart. It had been a miracle that he had managed to extract from Noris without any permanent damage, what with the haze that had settled around him.

The real damage to Mitth'adrin'nvtae had come afterwards when Duuvhal Squad was back safe. He had withdrawn into himself, the news finally settling in and ringing around in his mind, and each time it went around in his mind, the more it had been wearing away at his sanity and his emotional control. Finally, in the end, he had just snapped, spiralling into a rage while in the gym. It had taken a sedative to calm him down in the end, and, after talking with a military assigned psychiatrist, he had been pulled from active duty. As such, both he and Tryenu had been missing when the 21st had been deployed to Jena'tes and now both of them were anticipating the chance to relax with their squad-turned-family on Sharb.

Listening to the speech of the High Admiral, he had to admit that a small spark of rage had burned within his chest at how easily the sacrifices and duty of the Commandos - along with the Intelligence Operatives, though they didn't factor into his mind due to his focus currently being on the pain assaulting his squad, his family. So much had been given by the 21st, in the Civil War and in the time it took afterwards to reestablish the strength of the Chiss Ascendancy. The secrecy was understandable, even necessary, and he understood that well enough.

But logic so very rarely worked against emotion, no matter how much he tried to dampen down the sparks of anger. As such, he simply sunk down further into his seat, turning up the volume of the classical music playing over the earpiece he wore and relaxed his mind into the sound, the ebbs and flows of the piece soothing his emotions and pulling his mind away from thoughts of the award ceremony and towards what was to come - the chance to get a good drink, relax, and make fun of the Captain for finally letting her hair down.

He remained in that state, silent and sullen with music blaring in his ear, as other soldiers and personal filtered into the transport shuttle. Any attempt at conversation with the dreadlocked Chiss simply garnered a cold gaze and an even colder shoulder until whoever it was had given up. The only exception to this behaviour was Tryenu himself. However, even he only would manage to pull a grunt and a smirk from Mitth'adrin'nvtae at the most as the sniper focussed on his music, beating down the emotional turmoil that seemed to storm within the depths of his mind nearly constantly. The only change in his behaviour came when the shuttle landed and the soldiers had all piled out, leaving him and Tryenu as the only ones in their seats. It was then that he pocketed the earpiece, clicking the music off as he did so, and pushed himself to his feet with a groan and the sound of creaking, stiff bones.

"So, my brooding aside, you ready to go get pissed and partake in the rare sight of seeing the Captain remove the stick from her arse?"

Huffing to himself in amusement at his own words, he offered his hand towards Tryenu to aid him to his feet before the pair of Commandos would exit the shuttle and head towards the taxi that Mitth'adrin'nvtae had hired ahead of time, one that would take them to the bar that he had arranged to meet the Captain at. A bar that happened to be a particular favourite of Mitth'adrin'nvtae's for its good alcohol and abundance of arseholes to get into a fight with if he felt like it. A bar settled within the less refined and, in his opinion, more entertaining area ofcity. The White Lion Bar.

The exhilarated Marine battle cry of ORCAH echoed in the vastness of the Tenasas' hangar bay after the ceremony had ended and the personnel were dismissed for shore leave. It was a good sound. Unfortunately, it was missing a few voices though. No matter... Drinks would be poured out for each of 9th Battalion's brothers and sisters who fought and died bravely for the Chiss Ascendancy on Noris as a tribute to them. It was the Marine way.

A familiar deep voice of the Niners' commanding officer made Flaz'suz'safis turn her dark head sharply towards Chaf'arcar'usorn on condition, though the new title he called her by would take a little time getting used to.

"Thank you, Captain," Suz answered with a nod of appreciation, then a matching grin broke out on her face.

"I am.... on both accounts. Seems I owe you as well for putting in a good word for me to the brass. Care to help me in securing them, sir? I'll make it worth your while..." she quipped with a mischievous glint in those glowing red eyes of hers, then the shiny new lieutenant walked up the boarding ramp into Transport 15 that was getting ready to depart for Sharb.

Oh the fun they all were going to have... Work hard, play hard. It was the Marine Corps way after all.

The gathering at Sharb was a proud time to be Chiss, Sharb represented a turning point and the beginning of a new chapter for the children of Csilla. The time of the Jen’ari control had been ended; But more than that, the Ascendancy had blossomed anew.

As she regarded the myriad officers gathered within the hangar of the mighty Tenasas, it struck Bella keenly how far they had climbed to regain their honour and their pride. Many who stood in ranked groups she recognised, most she did not. More striking were the absences, the voids. Old names and ranks who had been mainstays in the old guard, many of whom had chosen the path of least resistance and had stood beside the Jen’ari invaders, had been culled from the herd. Some dismissed, others demoted, some few outcasts from the Ascendancy itself.

Those who stood here, for the most part, represented the future of the Ascendancy rather than its past. Her generation had begun to take the reigns of power from the greybeards and bureaucrats.

Bella was impeccably bedecked in her dress uniform, decorated with her various campaign citations and medals. Statuesque and poised, she looked every bit the officer as she celebrated the various promotions dispensed, chiefly those of officers under her own command. Vhirr’bel’laminis felt a particular flush of pride as her subordinate, Ferzz’hime’ammi became a newly minted full Commander.

Presently, it was her turn to approach the High Admiral, who adorned her uniform with the rank markings denoting her own promotion. It had been fifteen years since Bella had first set foot upon the path which she know walked, Commodore in her mid-twenties was no mean feat.

She thanked the High Admiral, reaffirming her commitment to the cause and taking a moment to remember her late brother, whom she had always believed would match her achievements, but now never would.

Saluting the dead could come later, she realised, whilst watching Admiral Mitth’orn’eruod receive his promotion.

Tonight was for the living.

It wasn't often that Mitth'adrin'nvtae felt the need to disappear into crowds of rowdy drunks, to dive head first into drink and violence, to let his more violent instincts drive him forth until he woke up the next morning with a bloodied nose and fist from a drunken brawl. The only times he had ever felt that need was when he was at his lowest, when he felt like he had been dragged down so far by life that his feet were scraping along the depths of the abyss. Last time, it had been after the Civil War had come to an official close and he had been able to final revel in the heartbreaking sadness of losing so many of the 21st (Scrambler chief amongst them, her death being the most hard-hitting). This time, it was the revelation of Fissure that drove him to make bad choices all over again.

However, this time was also unique for the fact that he would not be making these poor choices alone. The White Lion Bar was a prime destination for him when he felt that need to self-destruct for a while, and it also happened to be the bar that he would be meeting his drinking companions at. It was a hard thing to picture, the rest of the 21st and the old friend that Prusde'zoti'lore was dragging along - Vhirr'bel'laminis if he recalled correctly - joining him in his drinking, but, if he was sure of something, it was that it would certainly be an entertaining evening.

Watching the scenery fly past as the taxi that he and Tryenu were on began to approach the bar, he focused on the mask that he would have to wear for the evening. The mask of the irresponsible Chiss, the arsehole and disappointment of House Mitth, would be the personality presented that evening. Not Mitth'adrin'nvtae, a proud soldier of the Chiss Ascendancy. Nor Knives, the sniper of Duvhaal Squad. Focusing, he went over the speech patterns he was to assume, the carefree body language and the completely different behaviour he was to present. Sat next to him, Tryenu would be able to Mitth'adrin'nvtae shift into the persona of Thadrinn with ease, a smirk pulling at his lips where, before, there had been a slight frown.

As the transport slowed to a halt outside the slightly run-down and neon-lit exterior of the White Lion, Thaddrin huffed out a low chuckle as he pushed open the door and slid to his feet with a little flourish, sticking his hands into the pockets of his leather jacket. "So, wanna see how y' truly 'ave fun, mate?"

Humming beneath his breath, he swaggered around to help the injured Tryenu down before, with a wave, bid farewell to the taxi - grateful that he wouldn't have to juggle a credit chip and the bulky form of his brother-in-arms having pre-paid. Reaching into his jacket pockets, Thadrinn withdrew a cigarette which he then proceeded to light, gesturing for Tryenu to go in ahead of him. "Don't worry. Stood outside, arms crossed against his front and his head bowed so that his chin rested against his chest, Thadrinn had just finished his cigarette, throwing it to the ground to twist it out with the toe of his boot, when he looked up with a wide smile at the sight of approaching Chiss. Stepping forward with a laugh, he threw his hands wide in a welcoming gesture, smirking broadly. "Cap'n, so glad t' see you made it. Wouldn't be much a show without y' hear t' preform. Can't wait t' see you w' that stick outta your arse. And you, you must be t' one an' only Vhirr'bel'laminis." Bowing deeply in an exaggerated gesture, he huffed out a laugh. "A pleasure, my dear. Come, there's drink t' b' had."

Turning, Thadrinn gestured for them to follow as he disappeared through the doorway and stepped into an atmosphere heavy with the scent of alcohol and smoke, weaving his way over towards where Tryenu sat after briefly waving at the bartender.

Objective 0 - Promotion & Recognition Ceremony

After the holo was taken, Brask'ari'sabosen slowly made her way through the crowd in the hangar towards where the transports were being readied to depart, giving good wishes to those that had received promotions along the way. She wasn't in a particular hurry to get down to Sharb, but was definitely looking forward to enjoying some free time relaxing and taking in the sights.

The party dogs were the first to board the outbound shuttles. Brask'ari'sabosen didn't mind though. Those soldiers and pilots along with the sailers deserved to let off steam after the battles they had fought hard in as of late. Though... that wasn't quite the doctor's speed, but some good food and drink would be nice. Perhaps there would even be a decent keybed bar with some smooth jazz to kick back and listen to. Time would only tell what the week would bring.

The new CMO walked over to where Mitth'orn'eruod was standing. She waited politely until he was finished in his conversation before sharing her salutations with him. "Congratulations, Admiral Mitth'orn'eruod. A well deserved promotion it is as you have given the Chiss hope again. And for that, I thank you," Ari offered with a small smile and respectful cant of her dark head.

Brask'ari'sabosen's crimson gaze flicked momentarily to the nearby transport, then back to Mitth'orn'eruod standing there looking grand in his dress uniform and new rank pins. There was no denying the man had admirable qualities. "Admiral, are you going planet side? Seems the flight deck crew want their hangar bay back sooner than later," she commented with a soft chuckle as one of them was waving lingering personnel over with purpose.

Shore leave had been a long time coming. Once it had arrived, the newly minted Commodore had been keen to escape the company of her own subordinates who became ever more numerous and deferential as she rose through the ranks.

Instead, Bella had been contacted by an old classmate, Prusde'zoti'lore a friend from her earliest years in the military academies who had chosen a different career to the fleet officer. Even though Dezoti had pursued a more hands-on and physical trade than Bella the two had remained in contact when possible.

When the private transport had arrived bearing Dezoti, Vhirr’bel’laminis had noted with approval the commando’s choice of outfit, fashionable and expensively crafted enough to be remarkable; Dez’s hair too had been noted, commented upon and complimented.

The Losca city resort was renowned for its grandeur and uncompromising focus upon luxury and relaxation, so Bella had prepared appropriately for such an adventure, attired as she was in a backless white dress made of delicate, loose silken fabric. The garment was approaching scandalously revealing, though the semi-opaque fabric obscured the appropriate places sufficiently to render the garment on the correct side of socially acceptable. It would be fair to say that Bella had chosen the item with fashion keenly in mind above function. Her plunging neckline was adorned with delicate silver and pearl detailing and Bella had arranged her dark hair in a wet look, trailing down into blue ringlets.

It was safe to say the outfit was as far from uniform as Bella was willing to stray.

As they travelled together the conversation continued, Bella upbeat; It was clear she was in a fairly exceptional mood to start the shore leave off.

“Haven’t I always been a higher rank than you?” Bella asked with a grin and a single arched brow raised in amusement, “I mean, what is it you do officially, I don’t think I’ve seen your function listed anywhere?”

The commandos were a covert unit, so in a way, she was making sense, though it was obviously a joke between the pair. “Honestly, I don’t think it will feel any different until I move to my new vessel… “

She trailed off, her eyes dragged from the Dezoti (who appeared to be grinning almost maniacally at some hidden joke) and found herself looking out to a view of - … - Not a resort.

“W-where are we going Dezoti?” she asked, eyes narrowing as her gaze returned to the object of her suspicions, Bella’s brows knotting as she braced herself for the sudden but inevitable betrayal that was to be revealed by her friend. Dezoti liked slumming it.

As she awaited the reply the transport descended into what could only be described as an urban sprawl which, to Bella’s mind, would more readily be described as a complete dump.

Arriving outside a dive bar at Dezoti’s side, they were approached by a local beggar who immediately introduced himself as one of Dez’s associates. Of course, it all made perfect sense. Another man was with him and though he had not yet introduced himself it was clear that he too was known to Dezoti.
Vhirr’bel’laminis turned and gave Prusde'zoti'lore a pretty smile that spoke volumes between the two.

I’m going to shoot you in the face.

Instead, however, she offered the rogue her hand and smiled in reply to his greeting, everything was fine. Fine.

“The One and Only,” she repeated with a conspiratorial nod, “ The pleasure is all mine, I’m sure. Though I didn’t catch your name?”

She nodded to the other male before turning to look at Dezoti. “Let’s get a move on, I need a drink.”

"Come on now, you know that Commando ranks translate directly into the CEDF." Dezoti let out a soft laugh as she listened to her friend. There was something so relaxing about being with her, especially after what happened with Fissure. Though, how much more could she do this? Her laugh faded as she glanced out the window to where Bella was looking, her smile gone. This was most likely be the last time she'd be able to trick Bella like this and see that cute surprised look on her face.

Speaking of.

"It'll be the last time I take you to these kinds of places, don't worry." The smile was back on her face when Dezoti glanced back to Bella. It was an odd choice of words though. Dezoti had never once said anything about not bringing Bella to another of these hangouts as she never wanted to lie to her friends. It definitely stood out, but before anything else could be said the shuttle landed.

Good ol' Knives was there waiting for them, right on time. The pierced Commando looked more like a hired bodyguard however. More importantly, she and Bella looked like a couple of rich girls looking to see what it was to 'slum it up'. They definitely earned some looks from the locals as they stepped out, and more than one lingering stare that would of sent a shiver down Dezoti's spine if she wasn't a highly trained soldier.

Thadrinn got a playful smile at his usual jest before she spoke up in response. "Come now, Lieutenant Mitth'adrin'nvtae. If you keep talking about my 'arse' I'll start thinking you're obsessed." More playful banter, but in it a promotion. She knew for a fact Knives wouldn't appreciate a big ceremony with it, but none the less Dezoti was promoting him. Though, it might end up a higher rank soon. Her smile faded only for a moment, then she threw both arms in the air.

"Let's go get drunk!"

Objective 1: Losca, the resort city.

Mitth'orn'eruod nodded as another officer congratulated him, offering a firm handshake, before watching him walk away. He took a moment to smooth out his uniform front, also tugging down the length of his sleeves to meet the crisp edges of his dress shirt, before thinking on the events that had led to the present. The movement on Csilla, several further expansions into the Unknown Regions, helping in the efforts to reclaim lost worlds to the Chiss. All were positive steps to undoing what had been done to the Ascendancy, and while Mitth'orn'eruod felt the promotion was a reflection of his recent deeds simply being recognized, he couldn't help but realize there was likely a political agenda behind it, also. He was now the poster boy for the new Ascendancy, responsible for arresting the corrupt Aristocra, which had propelled his reputation among the Chiss - for better or worse.

As it was, Admiral was likely the final promotion step Mitth'orn'eruod could willingly climb. For now. Further rank would remove him from House Mitth, severing his personal connection to the House he saw to reestablish as a Ruling House, out of requirement of being truly selfless in the Defense Hierarchy. All members of the Hierarchy did similar, removing themselves completely from any say, vote or action in what their previous Houses did. For Mitth'orn'eruod, there was too much to accomplish before that final social elevation...

Another voice caught Mitth'orn'eruod's attention, bringing him out of his brief reverie.

"Thank you, Chief Medical Officer Brask'ari'sabosen," The Admiral replied with a nod of his own, as he observed her. "I appreciate the thanks, however I feel my part in the civil war has been overstated. I was simply the conduit for the parts to function together for the result. Nonetheless, it is good to see hope restored to our people, this is true."

Mitth'orn'eruod could feel the other's eyes studying him, the sensation of being weighed against perceptions, to which he smiled. While most of his young life had been focused on building a career, and bringing House Mitth back to its former glory, Mitth'orn'eruod couldn't deny that the need for a personal life had been making itself evident in the back of his mind. It was hardly a consistent nagging, but certainly a sparse whisper. As it was, Brask'ari'sabosen had many positive qualities, such as her family ties, her upbringing, her intelligence and occupational status - which was now considerably elevated, being Chief Medical Officer. She was also attractive by most standards.

"I will be, yes," Mitth'orn'eruod replied with a smile to match Brask'ari'sabosen's own, as he followed her gaze to the nearby hangar crews. "I do admit I am at a loss as to what to do, however. Leave is not something I've indulged in, so any suggestions are welcome as we are transported down to the planet. Presuming we are on the same shuttle, of course."

With a motion toward transport 20, Mitth'orn'eruod inclined his head.

"After you, Chief Medical Officer..."

Mitth'orn'eruod followed Brask'ari'sabosen, casting one last look toward the delegation surrounding the High Admiral, taking in faces and names for later use...

"Do not sell your efforts short, Admiral Mitth'orn'eruod. Without your steadfastness, the Ascendancy would not be where we are today. It is a testament to your leadership ability and integrity as a true Chiss," Ari stated matter of fact with an affirming nod, hopefully getting in the last word on the subject so no more argument could be made against her original statement.

Yes it had been a heavy compliment given to the upcoming Chiss leader, but backed by only truths and evidence. Brask'ari'sabosen's father, Syndic Mitth'oru'sabosen, had shared with his daughter in confidence all the legwork done prior to the Chiss Civil War starting in earnest, and who had the capital and grit to pull it off. Although many loyal Chiss to the Red Flame bristled having the Sith Empire and Confederacy aid them in taking back their sovereignty from the Jen'ari and their Chiss puppets, it was a necessary evil and hopefully a calculated risk worth taking in the pacts thus made with the two galactic powers.

"Fear not, Admiral. You are not the only one considering what to do with the down time allotted, but I am confident there will be something to pique our interests to make this a productive period nonetheless for us workaholics," she offered with an all-too-knowing smile, then the CMO strolled up the transport's boarding ramp as Miith'orn'eruod had motioned for her to go before him.

As soon as the two were seated and strapped in, the fully populated shuttle launched from the hangar bay of the Tenasas for the planet below. Brask'ari'sabosen's crimson gaze was fixed out the viewport with curious wonder for a few ticks as they traveled down through Sharb's lower atmosphere, then the doctor turned her dark head to look at Mitth'orn'eruod who was seated next to her. His chiseled profile was pleasing, and the prominent scar above his left eye was most intriguing... from a purely medical perspective of course.

"After a moment of thought on the matter lingering before both of us, I find food is always a fair option and a decent place to start... I mean ask yourself, Admiral Miith'orn'eruod, when was the last time you had the time, no actually took the time to enjoy a superior meal with an equal wine to compliment it? The simple pleasures of life are sometimes the best, well in my humble estimation."

"This is it, Sarge... I mean LT, ma'am," one of the Niners called back over his shoulder, shrugging with a lopsided grin on his face as he'd messed up Flaz'suz'safis' new rank already, and maybe a little bit on purpose to get her goat. She just shook her dark head at the Heavy Gunner and addressed the group before going inside the drinking establishment.

"Okay guys... A dive bar this may be, but we still need to be respectable," Theta Leader said to her squad, then a smirk appeared at the corner of Suz's mouth. "Well as much as Marines can be on R & R," she quipped with a knowing chuckle, then the door was breeched by the Pointman and in came the Marines of the 9th Battalion in all their glory.

Flaz'suz'safis was not a girly girl by any means yet she still was feminine where it counted. The newly minted Marine Lieutenant was dressed casually for a fun night out on the town blowing off steam. She wasn't sure where Captain Chaf'arcar'usorn had gotten to because he had been right behind them as they left the hotel to find the bar.

As Flaz'suz'safis strolled past those already bellied up to the bar, she gave them a head bob. The two Chiss females were gussied up to the max and stuck out like a sore thumb in a dump like this, but the two males... Well they were very intriguing indeed.

"Alright Niners... I'm calling in those IOUs now. Let's get this here party rollin'!"

Alezan was never one to care about awards and recognition. All he cared about was his pay to compensate his services. What use were awards for him? Absolutely nothing, unless when one is part of an organized military such as the Chiss. Those types of thing gave one influence and power in the military, an idea that people respected and make value of. All that held no importance to Alezan; wasn't as good with credits that can actually obtain him objects and whatnot.

While he would not receive any awards, he was invited to celebrate with the other Chiss for their past victories. He was on the fence about it, but when he heard that the expenses would be covered he couldn't miss out. The mercenary would go alone, none of his team would come as they were already paid off and perhaps looking for a new contract. They would be called when Alezan needed them.

He did had a meeting with a certain Chiss up in the rankings, but he could kill some time here at the bar.

Dressed up casually the Chiss hybrid entered the bar and saw the place being crowded with Chiss. Just a sea of blue. They all looked the same to him at a glance, but when looked closely he could tell them apart. Only people he was familiar with was those of the Ninth Battalion. Would he be accepted? Or be glanced with glares? He wouldn't care. He came for the drinks and entertainment.

"Y'all got Rancor's Blood," the mercenary asked the bartender.

"Excuse me," the bartender replied back with confused look on his face when hearing that name.

Right. Chiss. Intelligent, but not open minded towards other cultures and customs. Unlike Alezan.

"Never mind, just give me something sweet."

"You got it," and went off to prepare Alezan's order.

Shot glasses of whiskey were passed back from the bar in a fire bucket brigade-like fashion so that all the Niners present could have a drink in hand for the toast. On the counter were additional glasses line up that had been poured in tribute to their marine brothers and sisters killed in action at the Battle of Noris.

Flaz'suz'safis had declined to give the speech as she had not lost any of Theta squad and wanted the other squad leaders of the battalion to have that chance to memorialize their own dead in a more personal way than she could offer. Suz tossed back the dark amber liquid with well-practiced ease and relished in the familiar and ironically comforting burn as it warmed her insides.

After a moment the newly minted Marine Lieutenant looked to the side and noticed the mercenary that had fought alongside the 9th Battalion against the Killiks sitting a couple of bar stools down. The Chiss hybrid seemed to be flying solo without his Outsider men, which was probably best. Flaz'suz'safis eyed him over, then threw caution to the wind and slid over closer to Alezan.

"Rancor's blood, huh? What are you part vampire?" Suz smirked with a lighthearted chuckle, noting the blue-skinned hybrid's eyes glowing a more orange red than true red like hers. "You must be Merc One... I'm Theta One. It's good to finally put a face with a voice. How'd your squad fair on Noris?"

THE WHITE LION BAR

Vrott'ryen'uortoqh gave Knives a nod as he half-walked, half-hobbled into the seedy looking bar. The kolto bandaging was assisting in the healing process, but it was still slow going. After a quick check-in at the main bar, with Vrott'ryen'uortoqh speaking to the head bartender, he soon had the allocated seating found and claimed. Slumping into the considerably large booth, with ample room to keep his leg straight, the tall commando began familiarizing himself with the establishment. He saw three possible exits, a fourth that could be used in a pinch, as well as two security panels. One of them looked like it probably wouldn't function. Still, as far as options went, the commando had worked with less.

When the Captain and Knives entered the bar, with another following, Vrott'ryen'uortoqh stood and made his way to the group. He avoided the heavier traffic, simply to keep his injuries from being knocked around, and soon joined the small group.

"Hey, Cap," Vrott'ryen'uortoqh muttered in the din of the bar, the conversation hum quite loud. "Found the booth. Large one, over there."

The tall commando motioned with his good arm, before turning to the bartender and ordering a drink. Nothing fancy, just some Corellian Whiskey. As the drink was prepared, Vrott'ryen'uortoqh looked to the additional woman, nodding his head at her with a brief smile.

"Hello," He said simply. "I'm Vrott'ryen'uortoqh."

The tall Chiss was a sentient of few words, which suited him fine, since Knives tended to make up for it...
