Shinbone Mining Company was established in 902 ABY.
It is a minor industrial concern operating from the planet of Shinbone in the Instrop sector of the Outer Rim Territories and parts of Wild Space. Exploiting mineral deposits and servicing commercial interests in the Cranan-Excarga Route, the company has become a small link in regional trade. Its operations range from deep-core extraction and ore refinement to freight transport and colonial supply contracts. Far from the authority of the Core Worlds, Shinbone Mining Company found itself caught in the crosshairs of the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant in 905 ABY. It is reliant on hardened crews, privately maintained security, and a reputation for delivering valuable cargo through the unpredictable frontiers of the Outer Rim.
RATIONALE
In 905 ABY, the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant selected the Instrop sector as a place for expansion, and initiated it's occupation of the sector in that same year. Meanwhile, a peculiar and discreet investment hedge-fund known as Vūm predicted that the Shinbone system would be of great interest to Mahporeem due to it's Mining operations.
Contact between Vūm and Shinbone CO resulted in the former being brought into represent the latter's interests on Shinbone while the Mahporeem " Ministry for Foreign Affairs " (alongside the " Ministry for Industry and Salvage " ) and the N&Z Umbrella Corporation targeted an independent mining settlement as a base for Mahporieem control and Umbrella influence while the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant secured the Instrop sector under it's new domain.
As various competing or aligned interests descended upon Shinbone an enigmatic and secretive woman known to the Imperial remnants emerged as the representative of Shinbone Mining Company . . .
