Emberlene's Daughter, The Jedi Generalist
Amelia Amadis Amelia Amadis

The trip back was something few experienced... the sensation of traveling through the force is less straining and more like equalizing the pressure when traveling, as your ears pop. The plane fo the silverdawn was one thing... but coming to the chainway gate as the ribbon of the force energies leading them back sent them out onto the platform. The Silver Rest was there and there was more... nature all around them and the temple as they did restore a lot to it and here on the High Plane the massive clear dome looked out on... the void of dark space but you could see more as the magnification was there showing the other galaxies... companions and the furthest ones allowing observation and stargazing.

The jedi master stood there and she held her hands out letting much of it as she spoke. "I have walked across the surface of the sun. I have witnessed events so tiny and so fast, they could hardly be said to have occurred at all." A small chuckle to herself "I can track a single snowflake across a blizzard on hoth, To see a micro-civilization rise and fall and rise again only to fall on the surface of an atom in the heart of a dying star a thousand thousand light years from our feet. To stare into the space between worlds where the precept lurk, their secret languages something to learn." SHe offered a smile and they could look out upon all of it.

HIpdj3P.gif

SHe was looking at the various galaxies, companion and further out away from them and the horizon of the high plane looked out over their own. The galactic plane allowing them to see it and all the millions of worlds. Nara Windu was on the birdge of the ship moving past them. The Ataraxia MK. II was there and gleamed with the silver inth metal. "Welcome back grandmaster." The voice was rough... basic words harder but the towering form of Jara Mistwalker was there as the white furred bear welcomed all of them with trays of food for all of them.. specifically cookiees. "We have desserts for all of you after your field trip.

A few of the padawans almost couldn't stand! There was so much detail and beauty to see. Pop went the ears. Amelia of course tried to take some holophotos, and the Bothan boy wanted to grab for the stars. Wow. "Is this, are we…." Amelia tried to ask but for once our wannabe reporter couldn't find her words.

Weru slowly looked up and then down, then up and then down. Then up and blinked very slowly. "Our galactic garden's great harmony," his translator collar perceiving the low swaying nature of his voice's rumble, showing great contentment for where he found himself. He too was overwhelmed by it all, but his way was just to take very long looks at everything, while also listening for the underlying harmonies of the Silver Rest's natural ambiance.

Beside them, their proud Falleen padawan gave another intrigued eyebrow raise "I should very much like to learn all forms of language you deem appropriate," and surely Taiden would be equally fascinated. Sitting down and being able to move, their small Gossum was too enchanted by the stars, watching the Ataraxia he imagined painting everything he saw wistfully.

A mountain of a figure, the great white bear was given a respectable head sway from the Ithorian, content bellows following. Hungry padawans asked mostly politely for the treats, most saying thank you, and some soon asking for seconds. Others taking their time and nibbling. Were there any plant desserts for the Ithorian? Last to arrive his huge neck looked over the trays, hoping there was one left.

A way to keep padawans content was to keep their bellies full. The Jedi elders knew all the tricks!

Plants based treats were there and the large jedi nodded showing another tray of more so there could be seconds and ones set aside that were for different diets. He offered what looked like a smile with his snout but was welcoming to all of them. The grin made larger when he could check on a few more things and set the cookies down for them. He went over the grandmaster and stood there with a look at them. The massive design of the covering for the high plane stretched for several thousand kilometers and allowed them to see so much around all of them. She ate the food that was offered and looked at more of it. The environmental plates served with the materia to form the forests and the mountains... even the lakes that were here. "You all did well, and there is much you can see from here. We have even more studies for any number of jedi to take. From serving on the ships, to working in the environmental and there is even navigating a... hmm how to describe it." She tapped her chin as the jedi system was a different beast entirely... massive and filled with billions of jedi. It also served to teach jedi how to handle politics if they were going for diplomatic work in a safer environment. "Ah yes a way for ambassadors, recruiters aand well you can practice sensing hidden motives in the world of politics."

Weru gave thanks for their garden's bounty. Enjoying his dessert in very deliberate chomps. There was a good blink for flavor, followed by a respectable Ithorian head swaying meeting the Beorni's snouty grin. The few that knew how levitated desserts, showing off their abilities to their friends. Our Bothan was of course in the mix keen to show off, but he ended up splattering himself with a wayward sweet cream, getting a few laughs.

Amelia hated to admit so but politics was her hobby, alongside fifteen other things. Her father hated bureaucracy, and her mother probably too, but she loved people so… maybe that was her teenage rebellious streak. "There's so much." Amelia said to Matsu, standing on her tiptoes to get a bit taller. Holopen behind her ear now. "Can I be everything?" She smiled wide, showing her sharper teeth and confidently striding closer.

Young minds going from one idea to their next, to their next, to their next. Trying every hat on for size until one fits.

But seriously, "how do we choose?" She loved reporting, taking snapshots, and getting her reporting scoops. "Could we listen to politics later?" Maybe there was a debate going on right now? Right now she wanted to walk up their highest mountain, climb their highest tree, and that was definitely politics. An Amadis interested in politics, what was their galaxy coming to! Really she just wanted to see and do everything, all of life in her two days she had here.

"Yes you can be all aspects." She said it and looked at the girl with a raised eyebrow. "I am one of the few jedi in the order considered a generalist and that has taken many years and learning from many groups across the galaxy to adapt and learn how to use everything." She said it but there was a great chance to learn more about the galaxy and yourself... plus she had spent that time making allies and friends whom she had brought back here to the High Plane... so journeying out was actually a little easier in many cases... that was a benefit. "A thing about politics is there is always something going on... no matter how small it can be important."

She said it and well meeting with Arona Kae when she was here and discussing things with many of the other jedi. The Jedi Queen and while they used grandmaster the much more dogmatic jedi yes but it was almost at times a hereditary line who took the position of leadership. SHe would teach though and show the mundane life most politicians went through when not in meetings that were required. "Master Arona does offer quite a lot in learning how to handle things but there is no rush she is usually handling meetings and applying her expertise in navigating meetings to managing the resources for many of the order."

Many years, that was forever. Amelia mulled thoughts of her future over. Years seemed a lot longer to the young. Matsu talked about seeing many different groups, their galaxy, and learning more about herself? Fingernail tapped against her cheek while deciding. She was more interested in other people! So many interesting quirks, mannerisms, and traits.

Small things were important? "What do you mean Master?" Amelia noticed some of the dirt on her hands and tried to rub them clean. Which never helped.

Weru was still busy eating his single dessert, like everything else his chomping took a long time. Long enough for young Amelia to be introduced to Master Kae. That was a blast from a very long past, but nothing Amelia would know about. Arona looked serious and confident, she had that stride that people got when they were really important. Almost like she radiated nobility, like a chandelier or a queen. She couldn't stop looking at her now!

She better move. Should she bow? Well, she did a better job than her first time. Taiden should offer her lessons! Remembering how her Echani uncle did so. She rose up, concerned that she should look her best. Pulling her sleeves straight and gripping the ends with her fingers curled.

"My names Amelia," She said confidently to Arona. Lips partially open about to speak, she followed her father's examples instead and extended her hand to Arona. Only realising now dad shook hands because maybe he never knew what to say either. Well it worked!

Weru came on over to bellow his greetings also, a small bit of cake stuck on his nose, which Amelia brushed off him.

She looked at her and offered a smile. "SMall things like resource allocation can change things... where you are sending rations in the field can benefit some while others might become resentful but they will be getting another resource that helps them greatly. It is all part of a massive tapestry that is weaved.... which helps that we have befriended the force weavers... they like to joke around reading someones past through the force and their threads." She looked though as Weru and Amelia were talking to Arona and the jedi master was standing tall and ready for anything. Her robed armor a preservation suit but it still looked regal with its sleekness. Then there was her hair done up and the clasped pin that held it all in place as she looked at the two padawans and nodded shaking the extended hand. "Welcome padawans."

Small details that affected a careful dynamic. Amelia listened and learned. Jotting down a few more notes. Every experience shaped the padawan and who she would become. She was excited but underneath her youthful demeanor, she also had the determination of her mother to succeed. Honestly, it was a lot to take in for her, but like Elara she was sharp and quick when confronted with something new, even groundbreaking as this place was.

Weru had finally finished his dessert, savoring the plant's sacrifice for his meal. He gave his own thanks in the wording of a caretaker of life, promising to plant a sapling for the offering. Trying to assess what plants his palate could pick up taste, texture, and touch. Everything looked in great harmony, the people, ship, and message, all had their own interconnected balance with each other. He could see and feel it in the way they dressed, and acted, taking great care in their groundskeeping.

Welcome padawans. There was a chorus of hello master, some bows, and a wave or two.

The Ithorian bellowed harmoniously, feeling part of the ship, part of the new experience. He stretched his hands out by his hips to show a willingness to receive knowledge. Open palm and ready.

"Cordial greetings Master. What lesson or knowledge are we caretaking."

The woman looked at them and she spoke plainly. "TOday, we are discussing food production and what to do with the extra supplies that we can develop. We store it for emergencies and use the rest for feeding refugees but allocating where it goes is important. Not all species arer able to eat what we produce so we try not to waste it transporting from one end to the galaxy." She said it with a look at them. "After that we are discussing allocation of fighters and production facilities." She said it and raised an eyebrow. "Does that interest you?" The jedi grandmaster stayed where she was and listened as she had sat in on those meetings and there was quite a lot to them.... and a lot of wanting to sleep as they poured over numbers.

Of all the gaggle of assembled padawans, the Twi'lek looked the most interested, followed by Amelia and their Falleen. Weru's neck leaned up when she mention waste as well, not wasting things was very important to many Ithorians to preserve their environment. He gave an elongated light rumble of interest.

Amelia felt a creeping want to excel at everything again. So she got her holopen out, just like their Falleen did, and was scribbling notes down like he was. Occasionally they'd glance at each other, and the Falleen would raise an eyebrow again. Her mother's natural competitiveness was showing slightly.

"Yes Master!" Amelia said slightly over eagerly, glancing to the Falleen who had also raised a hand. Their green-skinned Falleen getting his question first again, dangit!

"On the subject of food. Will we be following the traditional input, processing, and output flow? Breaking the discussion down into raw materials, manufacturing, and final product." The Falleen inquired. Amelia was going to ask something like that, maybe not as eloquently. Raising her own hand, "they use fish or other extracts in farming to give extra protein and grow larger animals. Is that how you avoid waste? " Amelia said in her best important-sounding reporter voice, Just wanting to beat the Falleen, glancing over to him. Kashyyyk had taught her how Wookiees wouldn't waste anything on their world.

Weru looked between the two, head going back and forth. The questions had some harmony but he understood tones of voices and gave Amelia a soft rumble to settle his friend. Meanwhile, the little Gossum padawan had slumped down a bit, totally overstuffed on desserts. His species nature to be a bit greedy and his small stature getting the better of him.

"We also use jedi caretakers for the crops. bbiologists can influence the plants and soil to enrich and increase both the yield and size enough as well as reduce wasted product. Feeding trillions across the galaxy can be difficult and so we have some places designated to massive farms and then underground modules dedicated to hydroponics, stations for continuing it and livestock, fisheries and more around here and the ancilla." She said it and stood tall as it seemed some of them were interested and matsu bowed her head that she could take them with her as she led the way. From the forests into the grand chambers... massive and vaulted ceilings with concentric rings leading up where dozens of jedi were all around. Advisors and diplomats of the order in their robes but they were bringing up the various supplies on screens and there were the white robes economic circle jedi who were pouring over the information and each piece to insure nothing was missed while Arona indicated a booth to sit in and Matsu took a seat for herself. The blonde jedi master going towards one of the chairs and she sat down speaking when she placed her hands on the arms. "Silence, we will bring up what we can for this meeting on the allocation of resources."

Supply chains to feed trillions of lives seemed a difficult thing for some of them to visualize, while others did a better job. Both inquisitive padawans wrote down the answer given, seeming to see which one would finish writing first! Well, Amelia won that one, looking happy with herself. The Falleen's ever-raised eyebrow continued and he walked on ahead of her.

HUGE chambers, vaulted ceilings, and rings of Jedi. The padawans were looking up down, left and right. Weru was at the back, moving as fast as he could to keep up, which was still very slow. Falling behind, Amelia noticed and dropped back to walk with her friend so he didn't feel left out.

The group sat where they were asked. Of all different heights and species, they looked like an interesting collection of open young minds, some more open than others, but all willing to listen. This place had wowed most of them, and there was a sense the new arrivals especially were taking it all in. If you remember what it was like when you went to a new place as a youngling for the first time, and the whole world seemed possible. That was the feeling of the group. Weru arrived last and took his seat at the end of the booth, Amelia shuffling along so he could sit.

Silence, we will bring up what we can for this meeting on the allocation of resources.

A few hushed voices whispered and bodies fidgeted for space on their seat. Then all fell silent ready to listen…. the small Gossum muffling an overstuffed late burp. Weru being already silent found the sight of the group's harmony going higher to lower tempo slightly amusing. You'd only know if you've ever seen an Ithorian's dual mouths smile sideways, each was half of a smile.

Matsu had found a seat near the padawans. She had a chair above as needed to oversee but this wasn't a meeting of the councils. It was a meeting for the one council and Arona spoke. "I shall hear from the agricultural circle are farming and harvesting." There was a boom to her voice but it wasn't harsh it was a bellow that allowed all in the chamber to hear as one of the jedi moved forward. Sleek golden white robes and he bowed. "THank you councilor." He moved to the central chamber and it was still filling with some other jedi in the upper rings. "We have good reports, with the new biomes that have been made here and hydroponic facilities. The harvesting droids able to work through the week."

He looked at it and was bringing up screens. "We have a disposal rate of point zero seven. A new best and the rest ninety nine point ninety three percent. Metric tonnage of two hundred and fifty thousand being loaded into suspension crates and cleaned with microsonic sanitizers." He said it and was showing it. "In terms of livestock we have an increase of five hundred percent newbornes for grazing and being raised up from our last report. Products collected is increased as well by seven hundred percent and a disposal rate of point zero five. Increases in the sophistication of the droids has allowed us to drastically reduce waste."

Arona remained there as the lists of various items were given, from different milks, fruits, veggies, meats, grains, silks, eggs. The reports going over it as Matsu sat there and listened. Arona's voice only coming out as it got to the other parts. "We have been coordinating with the diplomatic councilor who has stated where requests are and with these we will be able to fill ninety four percent of the food requests. Agricultural technology requests we can send off and have coordinated with the economic watch circle to coordinate traders and handle tariffs and all fees needed to transport in bulk transports."

Arona was giving a nod and all of the various screens were showing her what was reported. "Very good, continue and in three months update us. IF there are problems tell us and we shall work to handle it."

For the very newest among them, this was their first real lesson. Unlike the holovideos of heroes fighting against sith there was almost as much theory to many young Jedi's training as practical. Lots of listening, meditation, understanding, and finally learning to then use that knowledge as a stable foundation.

Weru was in his natural element. There were several good blinks and a steady head motion to indicate continued interest from the Ithorian, especially on the mention of stocks of food, animals, and sanitizations. For him, this presentation was exactly the right pace, with lots of information presented in a step-by-step steady way. Some of the more practical or just academic among their number were intrigued in the same way, taking notes or concentrating hard to remember. Others were levitating their datapad or daydreaming of lightsaber practice, everyone had their place and specialty.

Amelia wasn't stupid, and her competitive streak with their Falleen padawan was making her focus harder, even if she preferred more human and less technical talk. Most of her notes ended up being on the council, how the information was presented, and who their speakers were. Noting references to investigate for later. Her Holopen moved faster than any padawan alive, not as fast as the AI in the Twi'leks own recording device, who listened comfortably while his AI casually recorded every word of importance. Perhaps more cunning than the Falleen and Amelia combined.

Shifting in their seats a few young padawans wanted to ask questions but they remembered they'd been told to let the council speak. Which was honestly good for them, on their very first steps in the force, younglings could be a handful till they found their inner peace or calling. Some silent reflection would help, as would some lessons connecting to the force.

Arona looked at more speakers, reports for the small things that they were doing such as aquaduct construction of different worlds. Repair work being done as jedi engineers were called to various worlds to aid them. Including Kashyyyk, Vaynai and Voss. The old jedi temples there being used like outposts and Kashyyyk had the massive new area where the rest had once been. The engineering and tech division showing something different then food as they worked to make the various materials for construction and reconstruction of destroyed areas. They had various other teams going across the scar worlds and many of the other worlds that had been neglected by different governments. "I see. the reconstruction efforts on worlds is important but stagger it by means of damage. If we stretch ourselves too thin team wise it could be a problem." She said it and brought up a hand. "For worlds where we have encountered pirates and raiders we have the Ironmonger Division to aid our teams." She was pulling up more information as the engineers were showing various location with what they were doing there to help the people including rebuilding areas for farmland. The final business of the engineers was the Discplates as Matsu smiled to herself. "An impressive feat and for worlds that have been devastated like Csilla and even Exogal it can be beneficial to give them a home."

Now it was Amelia's turn to record names and identities with extreme care and detail. People, places, and designations were all important to her. While Weru was the one less engaged with exactly who was doing the work, only the worlds that needed their care and how that care was done. An interesting contrast between the friends, one that complimented each other. Weru had no datapad but he would lean over to his friend to share hers, his long head casting a shadow over her screen. Smiling upward, Amelia patted her friend's neck.

A small sway side to side, then up and down of his long head while they listened, keen attention following the lecture. All the padawans watched displays of the different worlds presented alongside the speech. So many worlds scarred and damaged. A few days ago, he had begun to read of all the dangers the galaxy had faced before his young life had even started. Weru wondered how long Matsu or Arona had been caretakers over so many, and what gardens they had tended, did they still live? He would very much like to see them.

Their Discplates which Matsu spoke of fully had his attention. To preserve life that was no longer with us, he almost reached his hand out toward the displays. Far away from him but want to tend to those lost ecosystems was in his hand. Blinking several times and then slowly shifting his neck to show excited concentration. This was the single best part of his entire experience, knowing that the order was in cared enough to try and save the life that had evolved over billions of years rather than give up, even after its originating world had been lost.

Many padawans were seeing this for the first time. The ironmongers had some excited, while others were sad to hear of neglect or loss, and others like Weru were trying to read or take in details of the Discplates. They had so many questions by now, you could see a few fidgeting in their seat. Poor Arona or Matsu might find themselves barraged with curious young minds at the end of this.

The meeting continued but it was closing up. Arona sitting there as she finished. "If that is all business needing to be presented then we will adjourn. THis council session is over." She said it and dismissed the other who rose up slowly and filed out as Matsu looked at the padawans who were writing things down and even more were seeming to find something interesting that they would be able to identify with. The grandmaster waited until most of the others were out and Arona needed to continue on to other meetings thatw were not as laarge but she was in one of the council spires after all so could be found.

"Now, lets see. who found something of interest?"

Four hands went up all at once. One padawan levitating a small datapad over, the sneaky twi'lek jumping the gun. His AI had prepared a question suited to him. It read…. <<What is the relationship between the Iron Monger division and the Jedi Order? Are our divisions organized under Jedi or civilian command?>>

Amelia and the Falleen looked at each other, one with his eyebrow raised the other flicking her hair. A small sense of irony that the competing duo probably didn't get the first question. Though there were many padawans here four faces, in particular, had their hands up.

Waiting to be picked before each spoke.

Recovering from his earlier overindulgence the small Gossum croaked, "Master… Who pays for everything?" Which was a fair question, and showed where his mind was when not on art. Their position had changed in the galaxy and there was still much to maintain within the order.

Amelia had a request not a question, "can I interview the Council when they are free? And ah you?" She smiled cheekily as she said the last words. Ambitious, maybe they had an official channel for such questions, which would really interest her if they did.

The Falleen sat taller in his seat if asked, "How do we keep so many records organized? The amount of data we must maintain to handle all these aspects is staggering." A monumental task given how much data they had to keep for access.

Weru was still on the preservation aspect. "On our Discplates were the planet's forest or jungles taken directly from the lost worlds and ecosystems, synthesized, or hybrids of other naturally occurring ecosystems?" A very slow rumbling voice asked. Wondering if saplings and animal life that originated from the destroyed planet had been used to preserve what already existed, or if one had been bioengineered in some form.

SHe looked at the question and nodded. "The Ironmongers were a division within the Republic. Armored for heavy combat and were stationed on Denon when the Republic fell. They defended the jedi academy there and when most of the corporations took over they escorted the jedi off of the world and stayed with us. We have over the years augmented and rebuilt them. THey work more with the silver jedi now helping the rangers and the paladins if needed and combat is more than likely. As much as we would rather avoid it you will find situations where it is the only option with the only factor being how quickly you can handle it and diffuse the situation."

The question of funding was important and she nodded. "We do, I rebuilt the economic watchcircle of the jedi to manage and build the funds of the order. THey manage investments, stipends and funding for things and what our tech division and artisans develop that can be beneficial to planets and governments we offer. We give away a lot where it is needed but generate just as much trade from the food we grow and other materials or resources. There is also everything from Sasori my company itself that supplies this order and several orders. It has lasted and given funding for a handful of decades now." She gave a small look though and welll there was quite a lot they also funded like the high plane and ancilla.

"Which council?" She looked at Amelia and smiled though. "I have seen the revival of various councils. there are officially twelve councils with the head from each forming the high jedi council that oversees all of the order and I can move from each as needed to add. So there aare one hundred and forty five council members excluding myself. The highest being the master of the order and myself being the grandmaster. There is also the first bodyguard who sits with the councils and is exclusive to the grandmaster themselves." She said it and looked at her for the reaction. "And you have already met a few of them today, I am sure you have gotten good answers from them but they are always happy to answer more."

SHe looked at Weru and the Falleen as their questions went together in a way. "We have several AI's to help organize but have also worked to have various archives across the galaxy. Including the monolithic library itself and the planet library of the Gree giving us access to massive databanks of worlds and their environments which we are able to use our materia to replicate. ORganic programmable matter that your padawan robes are made from giving it that weightless feeling and its strength. We can use it to make food and even water or air perfectly matched to the worlds we have created sections of with a small amount of the environment itself."
