• Description: The Shields of Rae is a special forces unit serving under the Abregado-Rae Office of Military Intelligence the Galactic Alliance Defense Force for use when discretion is of utmost importance. While certainly capable of direct confrontation, the Shields of Rae are best suited for covert missions with objectives encompassing data and intelligence gathering, reconnaissance, and special-interest security.

• Combat Function: The Shields are a covert support group that performs small-scale operations alone or operates alongside larger forces to manage delicate tasks.
• Strengths
  • One With the Shadows. The Shields are highly-trained operatives who excel in stealth operations and tasks where discretion is vital for mission success.
  • Security Experts. Members of the Shields are highly-trained in the art of asset protection. Be it a high-value payload, a military asset, or a person of special interest, the Shields are prepared and equipped to ensure the asset is secure.
• Weaknesses
  • Small Numbers. Due to the expensive and confidential nature of the Shields Program, candidates are hard to find - even harder to train. Only 20 candidates are inducted into the Shields of Rae at any given time.
  • Not an Army. While the Shields can certainly hold their own in battlefield combat, the true pinnacle of their training and expertise lay in the realm of special operations.
