Shards Of Alarah Episode III - Gallinore

It was the 14th of October C.Y. 4886. On the Republic's Calender, it was 836 ABY. Alarah, like most Hapans, counted the year by local measures, however. Consortium Year 4886 meant that it was 4,886 years since the founding of the Hapes Consortium. 30 years ago today, Ducha Alarah Kel was born in C.Y. 4856, which was more commonly known as 806 After the Battle of Yavin.

The Ducha lay still in bed that morning. She managed to not be stricken with yet another nightmare of that traumatizing battle at Lorell 3 years ago, but was still somewhat rudely awakened by her lead maid barging in to straighten up the Ducha's bedroom... as neat as Alarah typically kept it, the maid had little work to do in there, besides turning the privacy windows form partially opaque to full transparent, allowing the bright morning light from Gallinore's sun into the room from over the starscrapers of Dimitor City beyond.

Alarah scrunched her face in disdain and threw her comforter over her eyes, groaning. "Thank you for the warning!" she grumbled out in Hapan.

"Happy birthday, My Lady." her Maid replied with a grin. "The celebration's preparations are underway."

Alarah sighed and slowly dropped the white comforter from her face. ".... Le'ba e'Frak gne L'noan tira'h?" she'd ask, staring at the alabaster ceiling, which reflected practically all of the light from all sources. (translation: "how the f--k did I become thirty?")

Josh's eyes opened slowly as the world came into focus around him. Today was the day, the Ducha's birthday. He'd been here for a week, partaking in the Hapan activities and getting along with the nobility and locals. It was a good experience, and for sure would help relations between the Hapan and the Jedi Order for years to come.

Then Josh remembered, annoyedly that @[member="Saki"], his fellow Jedi had been roomed in the same guest room as him. After the incident with them a few days before, he hoped he had woken up before she did...

Saki

Came in like a wrecking maul
Saki wasn't in the room, she had taken to one of the servants and bunked with them to not wake Joshua. The idea of bringing her back to the room well... while it would be funny was not on the agenda yet. At least now it was time for the party and she walked out straightening her straps and wiping a little sweat from her face. "Well that was fun."

Alarah was unaware of Saki's affairs and so long as her employee wasn't being unprofessional about it, she didn't care what they were doing. She wasn't paying her entourage to get lucky, however. About the only thing that would hurt the Ducha even remotely would be the fact that She had several vacant guest rooms, all of which were nicely furnished and prepared for occupation, and one of her guests didn't want to use one of them.

Alarah got dressed in exercise attire and began her routine. She then came back some time later to shower and change into something nicer and more befitting of her station. She'd then go down to the dining room to eat, summoning a steward to bring the others. Guests would be arriving all day, she was sure. Best to look presentable, hence why she was dressed a subtle touch fancier than usual.

Saki

Came in like a wrecking maul
Saki looked over at Josh and smirked. "Well you know, if we use a little force energy we could. Ah never mind I actually am tired from that. Girl was a goer I forgot how Hapen women could be." She stretched and adjusted going back towards the door. "Come on now you'll get to see Hapen woman at their finest just don't speak."

He shook his head as he pulled his robes on.

"As I said Saki, I am not interested in your front hole or your back hole" he replied politely, before stretching his arms out for the morning. Deciding to wake himself up, he rolled near the wall, pressing his legs to the wall as he balanced on the back of his neck, stretching himself out.

"Feel free to stay and watch, or just meet me there, your choice"

Alarah ate her breakfast at a casual pace as she watched the hologram streaming stock reports and other investment data like a hawk. While she was still alone, she'd poke the holo-projector on her commlink displaying a small image of an old project design she kept under wraps. Her breath was even and she blinked only once before shutting off the small image. She felt just a slight pang of guilt allowing former insurrection scientists to continue research and development after her mother's passing... but she'd never talk about it openly.

She caught a live news feed that revealed news reporters had arrived at the Palace of St. Clavelle already and were reporting on scene. It was still too early for the gala, but the press was always good at punctuality... they were annoying like that at times.

Saki looked shrugging. "Got to learn to have some fun lover boy. Those woman are going to eat you up." With a look at the door Saki rolled her shoulders and moved going out into the hallway but leaving the door open for the servants to see him. Might as well have someone with a free show and the thought of what could happen at the party brought a fun couple of ideas to her head.

Alarah didn't hear the yelling. She'd sit back and would continue to watch news feeds while drinking her second cup of caff.

"... and today's top story, Ducha Alarah Kel's 30th Birthday ball is scheduled tonight at her residence at the Palace of St. Clavelle. The main hall will be open to the public and several dignitaries will be expected. Formal dress code is enforced and security is high due to equally high-profile visitors from all over the Consortium and even the Republic. Her Majesty herself is expected to make an appearance as well. We will have latest updates on the event tonight at 1700 hours Gallinore Standard Time.", resounded the voice of Local News archorwoman Anaecia Chalcedon.

Alarah sighed a bit. Tonight was going to be hectic. She realised she'd have to walk on more eggshells, figuratively speaking, than she normally did. She'd take another sip of Caff, craving a cigarette.
