Interviewer: They say you defected from an Alliance squadron in order to pursue a life of credits, drugs, and racing. What do you say to that?

Shani: They say a lot of things about me. Have you heard? I did the Kessel Run in less than ten parsecs. I don't really care what they say about my past; I'm too busy living out the present. For my... detractors? I'd say get a life.

Interviewer: Do you have any concerns with the upcoming race in Black Sun territory? A lot of racers end up grievously wounded or worse competing around Nar Shaddaa.

Shani: I'm here to drink, party, and dance. I've got a solid crew and we'll take the challenges as they come. Not much else to say about it, really.

Shani Ryder: Who is she, really?

Ever since the rising star in the swoop circuit appeared, people have been asking where she came from and -- more importantly -- where she is going. Miss Ryder, herself, is closed lipped on such matters. She incites crowds to embrace the present, live life to the fullest, and stop worrying about what might happen. Crowds love the energy and complete disregard for her own safety -- and the politics behind the scenes. Whether that'll make her a legendary star spoken about for generations, or just another rising star that plummets planetside before their time remains to be seen.

What we do know is Shani is prone to recklessness and spontaneous acts. Seemingly a born entertainer with a desire to please the audience, she goes out of her way to do autographs, selfies, and even a few lewd poses for holos her competition finds degrading to the sport. Stories of her being... adventurous are numerous and well-known as well. And as an able drinker, Shani has also been known to seemingly swoop inebriated from time to time, but to no detriment to her ability to pilot; which has been the subject to no small amount of debate on the net.
