Description:
The Meditation Stones are a set of 12 carved stone artifacts crafted several hundred years ago by Lady Silencia. Imbued with the energies of 12 facets of life, each stone stands as a representation for the mind to register and associate through the act of meditation within the Force.
Earth, Air, Water, Fire - the four elemental stones are tall and triangular in shape.
Mind, Body, Self, Spirit - these four are tall and cylindrical in shape.
Time, Life, Death, Energy - these four are tall and square in shape.
Each stone is designated by symbolic carvings in the language of Silencia’s ancestors, so every stone is unique not only in aura, but in appearance. The material from which they are carved is an amalgamate similar to granite - rich in naturally occurring quartz crystal and capable of holding the aligned energies indefinitely. They maintain this by being used - as one channels themselves through Force Meditation, the energy of the person in question is siphoned by the stones, allowing them to maintain a continual “charge” during use.
Able to be used by Force Users of any alignment, the Meditation stones serve the purpose of training, self discovery, and further attunement to the Force itself. Those learning to use the Force will find the Stones to be a helpful tool, as the discovery of the meaning within each stone takes time, patience, and persistence. New users are apt to discover the stones that hold the closest meaning to themselves as a being within the Force. For example: a Jedi might discover and connect to the stones symbolizing Life, Spirit, and Mind within the first few sessions. A Sith might first discover Body, Fire, and Death. The order in which the Stones are discovered is different from person to person, and the time it takes to do so does not in any way denote ones power or skill, but simply their progression of what Silencia refers to as self-enlightenment. Some people may go their entire lives without connecting to every stone simply because it represents a part of themselves that they have not uncovered.
Out of all the users of the Stones, Soliael Talith was the first to uncover every one of them in less than a year.
A secondary use for the Meditation Stones is that of enhancement. This is something only capable and experienced Force Users can achieve, and even still it takes time to do. By meditating and connecting to, purposefully, only certain Stones, one can enhance their connection to what powers might be associated with them. A Pyromancer, for example, might meditate on only the stones representing Fire, Death, and Body in order to enhance their connection to Force powers of those skillsets. This does not augment power, but attunement of the skill.
How does one use the Meditation Stones? It’s rather simple, really. The best and most effective way to use the stones is to create a Meditation circle with 12 clock-points upon which each stone resides. The order in which the stones are placed makes no difference to beginners, though more powerful FUs have discovered that arranging the stones in certain patterns around them will boost the aural resonation of the stones against their own Force signatures. For further energy-flow enhancement, using them within an enclosed, circular meditation chamber will compound their effect.
The Stones can also be used alone, or in small groups. The effects are less comprehensive this way, but more acutely intensive as the focus of energies is less divided.
When not in use, or when being relocated, the stones are transported in fours, each group having its own case. The cases themselves are wholly unremarkable and merely act as protection for the stones and convenience for the owner.
