  • Shai the Jaded is a street samurai roaming the Galaxy in pursuit of fortune, adventure and opportunity. In a previous life he was aligned to the Jade Triads, replacing a brother he had never known, but those days are over. Some say he personally walked into hell to drag his brother back so he could return to his roaming days.

Who is to say what really happened?
  • Shai Arvelis never knew his half-brother. His mother didn't talk about him much. She left the baby in front of a set of gilded doors and went back to wander the Galaxy. Apparently Yu Praji was a diplomat. An agile dancer in the game of words and intrigue. His honeyed plots rebuild the Jade Triad on Denon and began to influence worlds along the Corellian Run. Things were going well... until they weren't, which is par for course in their business.

In this case? The Akala Crisis. While most people returned, Yu never did, and the Triad floundered without his guidance. The Noghri Rukhan, once the protector of Yu, kept in touch with the mother that bond Yu and Shai together. Through her the Noghri realized the Triad needed someone that could claim Yu's heritage.

The organization was decaying and breaking up, but with the proper leadership? It could once again be something to be proud of. It's what Yu would have wanted. And proud Rukhan felt shame at having failed his charge so many years ago. None of this mattered to Shai and he would have declined. Except that his mother insisted. Told him that he was aimless, constantly seeking trouble. This could be a way for him to make his own path forward. To truly find himself. Well, if there was one thing that Shai was taught... it was respect for your elders.

Only after that intervention did Shai agree. Perhaps his talents were better used here than elsewhere.
