CONTENTS
  • Similar to the artifact it was derived from, the Shadow's Wisdom is an artifact capable of controlling various types of real-space rifts within a particular radius of itself. Unlike the Shadow's Folly, which allows careful manipulation of these rifts by the wearer, the Shadow's Wisdom employs a constant and continuous field of access denial without user input. Wherever the Shadow's Wisdom is employed, the large and cumbersome artifact taps into its arcane energies to preemptively close Netherworld Portals, rifts to Otherspace, and any other breaches of that nature beyond real-space dimensions.
Strengths:
  • Gatebreaker - Rift teleportation from or to a region of space protected by a Shadow's Wisdom is improbable until the artifact is destroyed, or if its effects are otherwise neutralized.
  • Breach redirection - The Shadow's Wisdom is extremely good at shutting out high mobility rift travel, but in the extreme cases where a breach occurs even in spite of the presence of Shadow's Wisdom, it is capable of diverting opened rifts away from itself. Meaning in the unlikely event a rift is opened within its sphere of influence, it will manipulate the breach to open beyond its protected radius... meaning an opened rift might be pushed in between a wall, or up into a thick layer of stone, or beneath the dirt.
Weaknesses:
  • Fold Space - Teleportation through specialized techniques such as fold space, are not guarded against, likely due to their rarity of use and the difficulty of implementing a control for it (no rift is created by fold space to shut down).
  • Cumbersome - The Shadow's Wisdom was designed with access denial specific locations in mind, it was not intended to be carried around for personal protection from rifts in real-space. In other words, it would become a true hassle to lug around with only a niche benefit.
  • Destruction/Neutralization - Like most dark side force artifacts, its effects and composition can be neutralized or destroyed by the likes of Force Light or force nullifying abilities/materials. Interestingly though, a force nullifying field with a large enough radius would likely preform the same function as the artifact in denying rift access, but likely for a more limited range than the artifact is capable of.
  • Shadow's Folly - Although the Shadow's Wisdom acts as a larger, more actively powerful brutish version of the amulet Shadow's Folly, it suffers from a basic inferiority to the fine control of the amulet to a certain degree. With enough focus and power pushed through the Shadow's Folly amulet, it may be able to overcome a Shadow's Wisdom very briefly to allow something through into an area normally guarded by Shadow's Wisdom. This introduces a small breach in the Shadow's Wisdom protection.
  • Beacons - Like the amulet they were inspired by, the liberal use of arcane energy is very easily detectable, as it makes no attempt to hide its excessive use of force energy to shut out would-be inter-dimensional intruders.

DESCRIPTION

Making use of the freedom afforded to one that is capable of opening and closing Netherworld portals at will, either through sheer power or through the assistance of an amulet like Shadow's Folly, is extremely gratifying to the user... and extremely frustrating for their enemies. To this end, knowing personally the great power that comes with the mobility of the "Riftborn", began to study his gifted amulet in great detail.

Although he could not completely dissect it, he utilized its powers to direct his studies. Through the use of experience, Sith Alchemy and heavy use of Sith Magic, Voracitos was able to create the Shadow's Wisdom. This then allowed him the ability to guard many of the most important chambers of his Vaults of Gluttony from powerful prying eyes getting in...

Good Morning/Afternon/Evening, [member="Darth Voracitos"]. I'm going to be working with you through the review and approval process for this, but before we can stamp an approval on this, we've got a few things I need to point out.

Manufacturer: Darth Voracitos
Please be sure to remember to link the Manufacturer of this technology. If you could do that, it would be greatly appreciated.

Darth Voracitos said:
Material: Alchemical Metals, Kyber Crystals
Just as with the Manufacturer, please be sure to link the materials as well (in this case, the "Kyber Crystals" as they are specifically named)

I understand what you are trying to go for here, but please try to stay away from absolutes, such as "impossible"

Please remember to tag me once you have made any edits to the submission or if you need a clarification of what I have said, or have provided one of your own

[member="Alden Akaran"] I have linked the indicated fields, and I have changed out the word impossible to improbable. Is that word a sufficient substitution to have similar meaning without being absolute?
