SPECIAL FEATURES:
  • Shadoweave is able to dampen sound, absorb light, and jam sensors.
  • Shadoweave is densely-woven, making it resistant to sand, snow, ash, chemicals, and caustic/corrosive agents, water-repellant, fireproof, windproof, and electrically non-conductive.
STRENGTHS:
  • Ideal in rugged environments and hostile/hazardous climates, Shadoweave offers a wide variety of exceptional protection, incl. being flameproof and resilient against exceptional heat, able to repel moisture and withstand rot due to humidity, to block air currents (wind), and to shield against various forms of radiation.
  • Shadoweave’s dense-weave pattern allows breathability but guards against blowing or airborne particles, chemicals, caustic and corrosive substances, and it is electronically non-conductive.
  • Shadoweave is extremely resilient against kinetic damage (Incl. projectile weapons, concussive energy, cutting, tearing, and normal wear and tear) as well as against several forms of weapons, incl. sonic weapons, energy weapons, lightsaber-type weapons, as well as sonic and thermal weapons.
  • Sound-dampening, light absorbing, and sensor jamming, Shadoweave is a terrific stealthy and stealth-enhancing material.
WEAKNESSES:
  • Shadoweave offers no protection against Force-based attacks or effects, nor can it protect against non-Force natural mental abilities, such as telepathy.
  • Shadoweave cannot protect against cryo-weapons.
  • Shadoweave cannot protect against pressure/vacuum or gravitational damage or effects.
  • Shadoweave has no defense against disruptor-type weapons.
DESCRIPTION:

Meant to be one of the galaxy’s toughest, most resilient materials, Shadoweave is also one of its most stealthy. Just average weight for a textile, Shadoweave is incredibly durable, offering extreme protection against kinetic damage, energy and sonic weapons, thermal weapons, plasma and lightsaber-type weapons, and even environmental and radiation threats as well. Able to stand up to immense wear and tear, hostile weather, ambient debris and chemicals (acidic, caustic, corrosive), fireproof, waterproof, and windproof, this rugged fabric could be crafted into all manner of clothing or any of a hundred other uses. As tough as armorweave or synthmesh/synthweave, it had the extra benefit of being stealthy – dampening sounds, absorbing light, and sensor jamming – equal or better than baffleweave and shadowsilk.

For all its toughness, it wasn’t invincible mind you. It was useless against pressure, a poor choice for EVA suits, and was unable to stop cryo weapons. It couldn’t offer protection against Force powers or natural, non-Force abilities like telepathy either. Disruptors were, as they were against most things, quite dangerous against it.

Inspired by the protective garments worn by shipyard workers and starship crewmen for centuries, and by the protections and stealth offered by various other textiles, Visanj sought to create her own ‘super-material’, and Shadoweave was the result. A tough, resistant fabric with powerful stealth-enhancing traits, able to be used in a hundred (or more) ways.
