  • Triple-Rack Decoy Manifold: The heart of the suite is a three-rack manifold that carries bloodsteel micro-foil cartridges, holo-ghost beacons, and ion haze capsules. Racks can fire singly or in choreographed ripples, creating layered confusion across multiple sensor bands. Magazine geometry matches the Velakorr bay profile, allowing rapid reloads and staggered pattern launches during long egress.
  • Bloodsteel Micro-Foil Clouds: Each cartridge bursts into a cloud of razor-thin bloodsteel foil tuned for emissivity control. The foil returns believable shield and hull glints at false ranges, smearing radar and lidar plots into noisy lanes that point-defense struggles to resolve. The flakes carry faint heat and charge biases so they read like a living airframe rather than sterile chaff.
  • Holo-Ghost Beacon Swarm: Miniature beacons project cropped silhouettes and motion cues that mimic the Velakorr's vector and bank rate. Bloodpane micro-filters within each emitter suppress lens flare and keep the ghost believable under searchlights, tracers, and starfield parallax. Beacons hand off to each other as they fade, stretching a single false track into a convincing pursuit.
  • Ion Haze Capsules: Upon release, these capsules vent a cool, charged mist that fogs range gates and confuses flak predictors. The haze absorbs and re-emits ion traces at controlled tempos, making it appear as if the target's plume is wider and closer than it is. Pursuit radars burn cycles correcting for a problem that moves with the wind rather than with the bomber.
  • Cold-Throw Ejectors with Gravitic Trims: All decoys leave the rack on cold-throw rails that use stored spring and magnetic energy rather than hot gas. Gravitic micro-nodes nudge each package into a precomputed arc so the pattern blooms on the exact side of the Velakorr that needs cover. This keeps the aircraft's own signature quiet while the decoys do the shouting.
  • Shadow-Phase Choreography Engine: A control brain ties Scry-Lens timing, Nightcloak windows, and bomb-bay states into one playbook. It sequences foil, beacon, and haze in precise beats that match the strike profile, shifting decoy energy toward whichever band the enemy is using most. Patterns are preloaded on the ground and can be adjusted in flight with three-gesture inputs on the WSO's Bloodpane HUD.
  • Wing-Link Deconfliction Protocols: A tightbeam datacord allows multiple Velakorrs to coordinate their patterns so decoys do not collide or null one another. The link assigns lanes and delay cues to each bomber, building a moving labyrinth of false targets that cover the whole formation. If the lead bird drops, the next in line inherits the pattern within a heartbeat.

  • Multi-Band Confusion Under Fire: Micro-foil, beacons, and ion haze hit thermal, RF, optical, and ion bands at once, which breaks the confirmation chain modern defenses rely on. A turret that sees heat cannot match it to an RF return, and a missile that hears a radar echo cannot find the plume that goes with it. This forces defenders into late locks and wasted shots at ghosts.
  • Low Electronic Footprint: The suite leans on passive deception and cold throws rather than loud broadcast jamming. To enemy sensors it looks like clutter in the wrong place rather than a jammer blaring for attention. This preserves Nightcloak's quiet approach while still peeling guns and seekers away from the real airframe.
  • Pursuit Break Excellence: Holo-ghost handoffs and ion fog trails are tuned for tail-chase geometry, pulling missiles and fighters off the true vector during egress. Decoys keep returning believable updates so pursuers ride the wrong curve while the Velakorr disappears into a cold window. The result is a longer life under the guns without spending heavy power on ECM.
  • Doctrine Synergy and Reprogrammability: Patterns are built around Scry-Lens timing, Harrowleech seam openings, and bomb release ladders. Crews can reweight the mix toward beacons for night raids, toward foil for radar-heavy grids, or toward haze for flak belts dense with predictors. The suite behaves like an extra crew member who knows the plan and plays it on time.

  • Force Nullification: When under Force Nullification, the sigil-wire control lattices cannot coordinate timing biases for beacon silhouettes and foil emissivity. Decoys still deploy, but pattern realism drops and the synchronized handoffs degrade into simpler clutter. Crews mitigate by widening spacing, relying more on cold-throw geometry, and timing drops during turns that hide the airframe in debris shadows.
  • Low Profile: Shadow-Phase reduces lock confidence and scrambles range gates, but it does not erase the bomber from the battlespace. Skilled operators can still hold a soft track, although its significantly harder to do so. The suite buys time and uncertainty, not total disappearance.

The Shadow-Phase Countermeasures Suite Mk. I was built so a starship could fight inside the throat of modern defenses and live to line up a second pass. It does not shout over enemy sensors with brute force jamming. It tells a better story. Bloodsteel foil paints glints that look like shield skin at the wrong distance. Holo-ghosts glide in the exact arc a vessel would fly during a break turn. Ion mist rolls like a real plume and soaks the air in lies. Together they pull range gates and predictors off the truth one band at a time.

In practice a vessel begins its run under Nightcloak and Scry-Lens timing. As the lane tightens, the Shadow-Phase brain throws a first veil of foil to widen the enemy's uncertainty cone. When point-defense commits to the wrong range, beacon silhouettes take the handoff and lead tracers away on a convincing curve. Ion haze blooms in the wake to keep flak predictors guessing while the bay doors open and bombs fall. On egress the suite repeats the rhythm in reverse, leaving a ladder of ghosts that climb while the real airframe drops into cold air and vanishes along a quiet vector.

Shadow-Phase is not invincible. In a null field the timing loses its art and the suite falls back to blunt clutter. But battle after battle the pattern holds. Turrets fire where the foil says the lane is. Seekers ride the beacon chain until their motors die. Fighters chase a plume that belongs to mist. And the ships crew watches tracers fill a space where they are not, turns their heads toward the next seam, and writes the kill that follows.
