The SFT-1001 'Nightwatch' Class Security Force Transport Shuttle was ordered by the Empire of the Lost to equip special units of their NISB. The vehicle needed to travel quickly to a security threat, surprise criminal transgressors, and provide necessary air support at the target location while disgorging security troops on site.
As a security force, the NISB was encouraged to avoid missile weapons on their support craft. However, this limitation was circumvented with the inclusion of Assault Laser Cannons on the lower wingtips, allowing the vehicle to make short-ranged strafing runs with the same power as a turbolaser cannon. An Ion Cannon allows non-lethal subdual of enemy craft when desired. Finally, forward and rear blaster turrets provide additional support, and can be tied into an automated defense system as desired to automatically fire on threats which come within range.
The Sensor Mask and Passive Sensor Array allows the shuttle to approach very close to targets before becoming detectable on early warning sensor systems. This security forces to get the jump on criminals, who have very little notice of the shuttle's arrival. Meanwhile, the shuttle's high-speed hyperdrive allows it to respond to reports of wrongdoing while the tip is still actionable.
There is scarcely any craft in the Imperial roster better suited to the operations of elite security force personnel than the Nightwatch.
