HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Seswenna Pathfinder Commandos are a division of the Authority's Army, elite soldiers that work in tight-knit squads that partake in operations too dangerous for regular Army Troopers to undertake. They are the Clone Commandos to the Ranger's ARC Trooper, with a greater emphasis placed on teamwork rather than individuality. They are trained to operate in a wide variety of terrains, from murky swamplands to frigid mountains. Pathfinders go through the same rapid, aggressive training as Army Troopers, followed by more advanced, specialized training in a variety of environs across the Seswenna Sector. Teamwork is prioritized, even moreso than the average Army Trooper. Tight bonds are established, with each member bringing their own specialized skills to the squad.

While their branches perform somewhat different operations, there is a friendly inter-service rivalry between the Pathfinders and the Rangers, with either of them seeking to outperform the other. The Pathfinders are often deployed to frontier worlds, modifying their armor as necessary for the conditions. On cold worlds they may add fur linings and thicker bodysuits, other times adding magnetic gription boots allowing them to stick to metal surfaces such as vehicle hulls.

Besides operating with regular Army Troopers, Pathfinder Commandos occasionally see other uses; their frontier training makes them a valuable asset for Rimward Rangers when extra firepower is needed.
