Her smirk quickly turned into a laugh as he blushed and squirmed, hurrying to get out of his hazmat suit. He was making it too easy for her. But she relented, mostly out of fear for his health. He would likely melt if he blushed any harder. ”Alright let’s see what we’re working with.” A quick study of his leg revealed the problem.

Just a simple cut. But even a simple cut on Racus Prime could be a death sentence. ”We’re gonna have to clean that as quickly as possible. Just in case.” She was about to look for whatever remained of the medical stock when he took hold of her arm.

She looked down for a moment, then up at him as he smiled at her. She froze up in the moment, not sure what to do or say. And for once it was her turn to blush as her eyes locked with his.

Finally she snapped out of her sappy moment with a gentle snicker. ”You can buy me dinner at the temple, let’s get you fixed up.” She joked as she looked around. Though she wondered if it was simply a joke or not.

After some time of looking, she found everything she was hoping for. ”Alright here it is. Immunity booster, bacta stuff, ductape, and hydro... hydroper... that other stuff that burns like hell.” She set the stuff down next to him and took hold of his hand. ”This stuff hurts. A lot. And it gets worse the more infected the wound is. So I’d suggest you hold onto something.” She gave him a slap on the leg before she picked up the bottle of disinfectant.

The liquid was poured over the wound rather liberally, killing the infection in and around the wound with searing pain that stretched throughout the limb. Next up was the booster shot, slammed into his thigh without hesitation. Lastly the bacta patches were applied to the wound before Ara bandaged up the whole mess.

”Karking hell, I should become a medic.” She thought aloud as she taped up the rip in his suit. ”You feeling better?” She asked with a nonchalant smile as she sat down and wrapped an arm around him.

Having seen her smirk and laugh in response to his blushing whenever she teased him again, it was a bit of a strange thing to suddenly see her own cheeks redden. But it only further showed what she was like under the tough exterior she always maintained. Though after a moment, when the surprise of him reaching for her arm faded, she responded with a joke again.
Or was it really a joke? He wasn't quite sure but he smirked a little and nodded — grabbing dinner with her sounded great.
But for now, he pushed those thoughts deeper inside his mind and watched her gather everything needed to get him up and going again. He had been injured a few times before, although not as badly, and recognized much of what she grabbed together. This was going to hurt like hell, and they both knew it.
Drawing in a deep breath, he gripped onto the sides of the table and the second she applied the disinfectant, he felt the burning pain and tightened his grip severely. The muscles in his entire body tensed up, his jaw clenched and if he could, he likely would have actually cussed when the booster shot was jabbed into his thigh.
Kark, that hurts...
Finally, it was over — bacta patches were applied and while he was still breathing heavily and felt some of his hair sticking to his sweaty forehead, his leg was going to be okay. His eyes turned to Ara as she sat down beside him, and for the first time, he brought an arm of his own around her waist to briefly pull her closer.
A bright smile followed and he nodded.
I'm okay because of you. Now, we have to get out of here.
His eyes turned to the door — the hangar was probably their best bet.

He was breathing and smiling, that was always a good sign. He was pretty much the opposite of Sol'yan. She needed to get them into a room sometime, watch one frown constantly while the other smiled constantly. She would make this a reality with the next series of lessons. Her gaze shifted down as he wrapped an arm around her as well... and for a moment she forgot that they were in a serious situation.

Dude was really getting under her skin...

"Come on, let's go check that hangar out. I karking hope there's a TIE still in one piece, this ain't that old a ship. New Imperial Order by the look of it. They got decent stuff. I'm running some parts of theirs in the pod." She helped him back into his hazmat suit before suiting up as well, focusing simply on the technical aspects of everything around them. It helped to keep the hot cheeks and funky thoughts away, kept her focused on the task at hand. She needed to talk to someone about what was going on. Sure, she was familiar with what was going on, but not this early. Definitely not this early.

All the way out of the medical bay and towards the hangar, she was giving him an entire technical tour of the ships. "... I just love it, though. Twin-Ion-Engine... you'd never think that's what TIE stands for... good stuff, though. If things played out differently, I wouldn't mind flying one, they're fast as hell. Their space triangles are great, too. From what I've seen, they ain't as good as what the Confederacy used to have, but the difference is in how they're used. You gotta admire them, their stuff is basic and quickly made... but the headlines speak for themselves. It all comes down to how you use what you got." She gave him a proud grin as she slapped the durasteel wall next to them.

Upon stepping into the hangar, however, Ara's eyes widened as her voice left her. The place was a wreck, but her finely tuned eyes caught sight of a bunch of stuff. "Dude..." She muttered, her hands resting atop her head. "Dude..." She turned to face him and grabbed hold of his shoulders, practically yanking him about in sheer excitement. "DUDE!" Her voice echoed through the hangar as she sprinted off towards the wreckage of a starfighter. "This is... that is... holy kriff, it's..." She giggled like a maniac as she rushed around and clambered over wreckages. But one caught her eye.

Hanging from a hoist, battered but still in one piece, was a surprisingly usable TIE variant. "ARE YOU SEEING THIS?!" She shouted, rushing over to it. "It's beautiful! It looks like a piece of junk, but it's beautiful!" She flipped some switches and went over the systems. "It can still fly and seal, but as long as we don't try and fight with it, we'll be fine." The engines came to life after a struggle and the girl set it down properly on the ground. "Come on, get in! Let's get... oh, this is a one seater." One look at him and a mischievous chuckle escaped her. "You're gonna love this." She snickered away, ushering him into the cockpit first before she hopped in after him to get comfortable on his lap. "Don't worry, we just need to get back to the freighter."

With that she flew them back to the ship. The worms were gone... but so was the freighter. Reduced to a heap of half-eaten junk on the landing pad. "Crap..."

With a little help from Ara, he was all suited up again and on his feet soon enough. The leg was probably going to remain sore for a while, but he could stand on it again, and that's all that really mattered. Her company also proved to be enough distraction to where the gentle pain was hardly noticeable, in a good way of course. Without the worms chasing them or the acidic rain trying to kill them, it was quite difficult to remain focused and view the situation as troublesome.
It was a new feeling to him, to really enjoy someone's company, but one he welcomed with open arms.
The pair then finally turned for the hangar, and along the way she shared a lot with him about Tie fighters and ship usage in general. He didn't really know anything about the topic, but the breath of air that escaped his nose in the form of a chuckle showed how amused he was. The information was interesting, but it was especially her excitement that really rubbed off on him.
And this excitement only grew more when they reached the hangar and saw what stood within it. Before he knew it, she grabbed his shoulders and practically threw him around, which made him grin widely. Seeing her happy like this made him feel great, too. She ran off and he followed as quickly as he could, making his way over several wreckages and other debris before looking at the ship that had caught her attention.
From just outside the ship, he watched as she flicked a few switches and powered up the engines. But looking at the design, he began to wonder something and she was quick to confirm his thoughts...
"Come on, get in! Let's get... oh, this is a one seater." One look at him and a mischievous chuckle escaped her. "You're gonna love this."
The way she chuckled when she said that almost concerned him, but he let her nudge him into the cockpit and sat down anyway. Was he supposed to fly? He had no idea how to do that...oh. His face turned redder than it had ever before when she lowered herself into his lap, and everything suddenly made sense.
At least she can't see my face. But another 'problem' presented itself quickly too. Kark, where do I put my hands.
He awkwardly shifted them around a bit, before hovering them near the sides of her legs. It was a tad uncomfortable because his arms weren't resting on anything and had to be kept up, but he didn't want to make a complete fool out of himself now. They also only had to make it back to the freighter, so it wouldn't be too long.
But when they made their way back, there was no freighter left. So their only way off this world was with the fighter itself, and a soft sigh followed from him at this realization. He decided to bite the bullet and moved his arms around her just a little more, so his hands could rest on her lap. Now they could finally get out of here, his face red as a lobster but they were safe and he felt like this wasn't going to be the last time they saw each other. He really didn't want it to be the last time.
At least we got the parts she needs...

Ara had to stifle a laugh as Kyell fidgeted and squirmed beneath her. She didn’t have to look at him to know how embarrassing a situation he was in. It was only when the realisation dawned on them that the TIE was their only ride home that he actually found a place to rest his hands. Thank goodness he couldn’t see her face.

”Okay... well... seems this is our ride home, then.” She fiddled with the controls as she searched for Kashyyyk on the navicomputer. ”Look on the bright side, you won’t need to do the dishes now.” She quipped as she nudged him gently with her elbow.

His hands were seriously making her face burn up.

Focusing on sitting as still as possible, she turned the ship about and blasted off towards the atmosphere... with blistering speed and enough force to press them tightly against the pilot’s seat. For the moment, all worries and embarrassment were left behind as Ara gripped the controls. ”HOLY KRIFF! This thing moves!” She practically shouted with a maniacal laugh as the toxic atmosphere drew near and eventually passed them. The stars broke through and the void enveloped them, the deadly planet finally left behind. With their course set, Ara jumped them to lightspeed and relaxed against him. ”By the way, if you need to move or adjust, don’t be afraid. This is gonna be uncomfortable for both of us.” She spoke up, unzipping her hazmat suit and tossing the helmet down next to the seat. The embarrassment soon crept up as she paid attention to the situation once more. She was starting to mind it less. ”You better not be a stranger. I’m gonna be moving to the New Cov temple for a while, get some extra studies and experience in. So I hope I’ll be seeing you there.” She turned slightly to glance at him before her head rested back against his shoulder.

”Thanks, by the way. You helped out a ton today. For real. Paying you back for this is gonna be a trick. Might stick you for dinner by the temple after this.” She smiled, her hands resting on his forearms.

Unable to see her face, Kyell could only wonder if she was as embarrassed about it as he was. It wouldn't surprise him if she remained completely cool even in this situation, given the way she was. But at the same time, this was definitely... something. At least she was probably too focused on piloting to notice how much he had turned into a lobster.
The course was set moments later and they finally blasted off, causing him to clench his jaw at the sudden G's they pulled. It forced him back into his seat while she was pressed against him, which only made him burn up even more. She seemed to enjoy the powerful acceleration though, and he let out a few chuckles once he got adjusted to it himself.
All of this was just too new to him.
When the ship leveled and jumped to hyperspace not long after, he could finally relax his body again and smile as he felt her lean back against him. The blushing began to fade and slowly but surely, he felt more comfortable. Of course, the sitting position was still awkward, but he felt less weird about being this close to someone.
I definitely won't be a stranger, he thought as she looked back at him. Right now he couldn't really communicate his thoughts, but he hoped his smile and the gestures of his head made it clear he'd come with her to New Cov. Kyell then reached up and carefully removed his own helmet so she could rest her head against his shoulder, and his hands gently moved over her legs until he sat comfortably as well.
No need to thank or repay me, but dinner sounds nice.
He smiled and wrapped his arms around her a tad more, briefly pulling her into a hug. Yeah, that definitely sounded nice.
