SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Extensive Sensor Array: Sporting an extensive array of sensors, the Sergeti is designed to detect everything from life forms to weapons, not to mention the inclusion of an advanced sonar mapper. Additionally, some (oppressive) governments have taken to outfitting these gunships with communications scanners and other surveillance equipment, though this is not standard equipment.
  • Hijacking Countermeasures: Because its weapons could do considerable damage to the civilians it is meant to protect, the Sergeti is outfitted with a slew of anti-hijacking features; typical examples include biometric scanners, hardwired remote overrides, lethal-force inhibitors, and occasionally even an auxiliary droid brain made to wrestle control away from irresponsible users and fly the airspeeder back to the nearest airfield, military base, police precinct, or similar.
Strengths:
  • Aerial Defender: With a decent speed, good handling, and hardy defences, the Sergeti is well suited to traverse the chaos of a galactic metropolis or vast wilderness alike, without having to fear anything but military-grade weaponry.
  • Reach for the Stars: Due to its unusually powerful repulsors and capable ion drive, the Sergeti is able to reach low orbit, though as with all airspeeders it is incapable of actual spaceflight.
Weaknesses:
  • Rare Sight: Partially due to it being somewhat more expensive than less well-armed and armoured police gunships, and partially due to its low squadron count, Sergeti Gunships tend to be deployed alone or in pairs, though occasionally with a pair Napasji escorts each.
  • Nonmilitary: While its hull and armour is rated to withstand military-grade weaponry, the fact that much of the gunship's armaments is primarily nonlethal (and thus fairly ineffective against heavily armoured opponents and droids) makes it poorly suited for military use, at least in its default configuration. Even when modified for military use, it is simply not possible to add warhead launchers to the design, and the law enforcement specialisation means that its passenger capacity is inferior compared to a similarly sized vessel designed to ferry as many troops as possible.
DESCRIPTION
Following the successful development of the Napasji-class Police Patrol Craft, Akiratis Industries set out to design a gunship to complement the smaller
repulsorcraft. The end result of this development was similarly named in Sith, this time after the word for "Guardian".

True to its name, the Sergeti is heavily armed and armoured enough to get between threats to law and order and the civilian populace, with its heavy shielding being able to effortlessly shrug off most blaster fire. In order to fulfil its role in a well-funded law enforcement department, the Sergeti is outfitted with an extensive array of top-of-the-line sensors, allowing it to detect everything from illegal weapons to unauthorised tunnels from a distance.

Capable of ferrying up to sixteen police officers, in addition to four restrained prisoners, to and from an area in need of a heavy law enforcement presence, the Sergeti is in many ways designed to be the armoured gauntlet of any police force. When one of these show up on the horizon, most common criminals have little other hope than to run and hope its sensors don't detect them; when a full squadron of these show up, the issue is likely serious enough that the Planetary Defence Force is aboard, also on their way, or already present.
