SERA ROSH

BACKGROUND

THE BEGINNING​

Life had started out ordinary enough.

Sera was born in Meru, Deneba to a simple family. Her mother ran a small cantina while her dad had a mechanic shop in the same building. They had been happy enough in their ordinary lives.

She grew up with stories of the Jedi that had once roamed the planet, with the grand temple that once was before it's ruin. To a young girl, the stories were ones of inspiration.

But the bliss wouldn't last.

Sera had just reached her teens when a gang of lowlives thought it a good idea to break into her dad's shop. What they didn't take into account was him coming back from lunch break. Her father ended up paying with his life because of their fear.

Heartbroken, Sera's mother started pining away, slowly at first, until only a shell of a woman was left. Survival was thrust upon the young girl, who dearly missed her father but who refused to die or wither away. She mostly resorted to scavenging, but never lost her positive outlook on life, despite the loss of her father.

It was during these scavenger trips that she came across a little droid being harassed by some scrap rats. Just as one was about to chomp down on the droid's head, Sera instinctively thrust her hands forward with a yell as if trying to stop the rodent. Even though she was still a few feet away, the rodents seemed suspended in mid motion, allowing the droid to rush to her side.

With no clue how she did that, she brushed it off as luck, not knowing any better about how the Force manifested. She did end up adopting the droid, however. Since then, the two had been inseparable, the droid helping with scavenging to be able to sell parts.

It was during these scavenging trips, that they stumbled onto the Jedi Temple ruins.

And it was there where Sera's life would change forever.

THE JEDI ORDER​

After a chance meeting with drunk Jedi Master Senari Gravis in the Temple ruins of Deneba, Sera's life would change for the better.

Through a series of events alongside him, she ended up running into Creuat, back then known as Rhis Fisto and a Knight of the New Jedi Order. The Nautolan ended up taking her under his wing.

Years passed as his Padawan, the almost timid girl blossoming into a formidable and self-confident Jedi. Balancing Senari's earlier teachings with Rhis' years of teaching, Sera became a bastion for the Light.

Eventually Knighted, the next chapter of Sera's life had begun.

THE JEDI KNIGHT​

It turned out it wasn't always the noblest of things to be a Jedi. Despite the Order's teachings, a Darkness crept into the Core and seized the most sacred of worlds to the Jedi.

And it went mostly uncontested. To make matters worse, her own former Master fell to this Dark Empire, becoming the very thing he himself had trained her to fight against.

Then came the various enclaves that tried their hardest to do what the Order didn't. Sera joined one after another to continue the fight against the Darkness while the Order was more concerned about the Hapan Queen's next Gala.

Until she finally left the Order in order to continue upholding the Oath she had made all those years ago to become a Jedi.

She had travelled the Galaxy, helping those that she could on her own. Then came a new hope. A new Republic blossomed from the Southern Systems - along with a new Order to support it.

Sera and Dobby observed its progress for a while, hoping that it would last and finish what the Lightsworn had started, before finally taking the plunge. She joined up with the Order of Shiraya, starting her next leg of her journey...

PERSONALITY

Sera can be quite an enigma personality wise - she can be calm and tranquil yet the next she could be quite feisty with a fire burning behind her resolve. She also possesses a wit that could catch one off-guard coming from one that seems so calm and placid.

She has a strong sense of right and wrong, having been raised past pre-teen at least with high values by loving and good parents. After that, it came down to the Jedi that shaped her in both skills and values - Senari Gravis and Creuat. She is also incredibly loyal to those she deems worthy.

She's a caring and compassionate woman, finding it hard to walk away from struggling souls. She is also not someone that would back down from defending a person in need of the protection - especially children.

Her journeys have shaped Sera to be relentless in the fight against Darkness, tyranny or any form of injustice, yet kind and compassionate when she needed to be. She can both be stubborn yet possess a wisdom beyond her years.

Despite the strong characteristics, Sera has some insecurities and deep buried trauma unknown to her, but which can crop up at times, either unseating her or causing her to lash out.​

STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES

STRENGTHS
​

+Duelist - Trained by one of the best Blademasters the Order had at the time, Sera knows her way around a lightsaber and its various forms. She can hold her own against quite formidable opponents.
+Freeze - As it was the innate way in which the Force manifested itself within her, Sera has nearly perfected the art of Force Stasis, capable of suspending vast numbers of opponents or projectiles and possessing the strength to even balk more powerful Force Users briefly within the Force, buying her at least a minute to either ready herself for a counter or to get away.
+Fast - Sera is naturally fast and Rhis Fisto made sure to teach her to use it to her advantage. Coupled with typical Force Speed, she is quite nimble and capable of dodging certain attacks or getting into a position to land her own attacks in the blink of an eye.
+Psychometry - She is pretty proficient in sensing echoes in the Force - perhaps not on the level of a Kiffar, yet she can still get a reading from an object or place, revealing its echoes of experiences.
+Loyal - Sera is exceptionally loyal - she'll stick by someone she deems worthy through thick and thin.
+Compassionate - Sera will always try and provide a caring hand or try to reason with someone first. She has a big heart that can bleed readily for those in need.

WEAKNESSES

-No Master - Sera may be a specialist in certain abilities, but she is by no means a Master yet when it comes to the Force. Though a Knight, she can still learn from those that are wiser and stronger.
-Attachments - Due to her compassion, Sera has a tendency to get attached to people or beings. She has a special attachment to her droid Dobby. If these attachments can be identified, they can easily be used against her.
-Stubborn - Sera doesn't let go easily and when she puts her mind to something, it's hard to sway her from it. This can land her in difficult or even life-threatening situations
-Lashing out - Unbeknownst to her, Sera has suppressed the trauma from her childhood and has a few insecurities that she hasn't dealt with. Naturally, certain triggers can cause this to manifest quite negatively, either crippling her concentration or causing her to lash out in unreasonable anger, sometimes hurting those closest to her. These weaknesses can also be exploited to break her.
-Strength - Sera may be fit and may possess the Force, but she doesn't have the physical strength to back it up. Endurance isn't her strong suit and she can also be overpowered by stronger opponents. She's also incapable of telekinetically holding up heavy objects like boulders for very long. ​
