DESCRIPTION
The modern day Sehsucht Company has intelligence, logistics and security divisions, with four distinct levels of security and trust. The company employs many hundreds of thousands of humans and aliens, from cargo handlers and unarmed police and security units, to fully equipped military strike teams. New employees and recruits are classified as blanks, regardless of rank or position or seniority, until they have passed a strict security vetting process, known as being 'Bronzed'. Trust circles are Bronze, Silver and Gold, with Gold level representing the highest levels of security clearance.
Much of the company's activities such as public relations, cargo transport, and are handled by employees not cleared for Bronze and above levels. Bronze level handles oversight on the everyday operations as well as corporate level espionage and tactics. Secret production and research, as well as off book corporate work is handled at the Silver level. All deniable and lethal operations conducted by the company are handled at the Gold level.
General Kaarl functions as Chief Executive Officer as well as being a major shareholder, and he chairs the board of directors, all of whom are Gold level. He also functions as Military Director, rank of General, with two of his most trusted Colonels, a Cragmaloid and a Herglic, leading the military branches of the company. The two militarized branches of Sehnsucht are the non-lethal Security and lethal Assault branches. Intelligence and Logistics directors also have a seat on the board, with the remaining seats held by former or current Gold level employees who are also major shareholders. These board members handle oversight over departments such as Aerospace, Biotics, Expeditions and Resources whose heads are not cleared highly enough for board activities.
Many former slaves find part time or even full time work with Sehnsucht. The company owns vehicles from speeder bikes to massive cargo starships, some of which are produced in-house. Many charitable programs are funded by the company's operations, including slavery prevention activities across the Outer Rim. These activities are heavily promoted by the company's public relations arm.
RATIONALE
Sehnsucht Company was originally founded by Wulf Kaarl to secure his farmstead and the agriculture and livestock, very small scale, providing site security and protection against raiders. After the tragic loss of the General's family, the company became his sole focus, and expanded to provide security and hostage rescue services to the Outer Rim. Over a decade it has become an inter-system network of military and commercial outposts that allow the Company to operate over a wide swathe of the Outer Rim Territories.
