Seeking Council from a Grumpy Old Person (Dagobah)

[member="Kiara"]

“I wish to learn more on keeping my balance of the light and dark.” She said to the old master,”I also wish to have a better connection with nature. I may have Raksha at my side, but that’s only because I have the Vongsense due to my replaced arm.” She showed off her false, Vongshaped arm dotted with scarified shapes like Vong tattoos. “My original one is dead and rotten somewhere thanks to a Sith lightsaber.”

She did want to know more on the subject of calling upon nature as an aid. She had heard stories, from both the Jedi and the Awoken alike, about how the Dathomiri women were able to tame rancors. Or how Jedi were capable of subduing dangerous beasts that would briefly obey their commands thanks to the Force. “The Awoken are esoteric, but they derive much of their Force magic from the teaching of the Witches of Dathomir, who like wise were able to hear the Force’s voice in nature…and were able to make it their ally when crises came to them.”

"What's not to get about keeping balance? Don't think of them as separate pieces of the Force and serve them on the same platter." She grumbled a tiny bit and started setting up the droid's heads for future battle, then went to one of her holopads and began to remotely program them for a basic course of hit block - hit block. "You start overthinking it, you're going to end up just the way you were before you got here."

“Right, right. Then perhaps we should focus on the nature as my ally bit.” She suggested to the old master, “But honestly, I’m open to any knowledge you can teach me. I am but a student.” She eyed what the old woman was doing and gave slight sigh. “Do I even want to know what you’re doing to those droids?” A good number of them appeared to be of old battle droid models, built for combat. She stood herself upright, readying herself for anything that may come next.

“You really are unorthodox.” She said, “Almost like telling me that putting on polishing wax to the viewport on my ship will help build my hand coordination.” She kept herself and Raksha at the ready, having a feeling that the old woman was not yet done with her trickster method of teaching.

"Yes, that sounds good. Go polish your viewport while I finish this next coming lesson." She pointed a finger out of the hut, then continued to work on the droids, her fingers rapidly flipping through the holopads. "Second thought, made it mud and dirt. That will work out much better."

Don't freight, she had a lesson for it.

“Wait, seriously?” Allara said, kind of dumbfounded, “I was joking. It was something I saw in an old holo-film! Can’t remember the name of it, actually. The ‘Something’ Kid, I think.”

She sighed nonetheless. She moved out of the larger craft and went to her junkyard old A-Wing, and did as the old wise-woman asked. She picked up a clump of dirt and began to apply it to the ship. It did not matter anyway. The A-Wing was karking ugly to begin with, something an old friend from the orphanage put together from an old scrapyard. She continued to apply the dirt to the ship, beginning to question the hermit’s sanity once again.

Questing the old hermit's sanity was a part of the job - a part of the whole training she could provide. At last she had finished the droids and hooked them to her micro piece, making small notes to them. As soon as she left the hut to seek out the young witch, the two split off and disappeared to the swamps of Dagobah.

"Little witch," the hermit's voice sounded. "I have finished your next lesson, if you can so much as grasp the situation that you will need to use every bit of the Force you can sense."

Allara heard the woman’s voice and stood, Raksha in hand as she looked to her mentor. “Alright. I am ready for your trial. What are my instructions?” She said, awaiting to hear from the old woman. She looked inside herself, breathing deep and controlling the balance. “Fire and Water. Fire and water.” She repeated, a mantra based on the old Dagobahian’s teachings.

She was ready to face whatever the old woman had prepared for her. The entirety of her Force, huh? She would need to keep that balance maintained in order to pull off such a task. The darkness and the light were in sync now, at least for this moment. It would have to see how this next exercise would play out.

"The game is called 'Hide and seek,' the assassin droids have hidden and are scaling about to kill both you and your pet." She gently pressed her staff onto the ground. "Find them, and kill them, before they kill you. Use your senses, see where they left their mark, sense where they will go next."

"Peachy." She said, looking upwards. She decided to use the force to pushed herself upwards in a leap, landing on the branch of a nearby tree. The higher ground to search the nearby area with. She breathed and dug deep into the Force. She need to detect droids among the swamp life. She began feeling out the Force, trying to connect with the heartbeat of the Swamp, but struggling some. As soon as she eliminated what movements were creature and what were machines, it would be easier to find her would be assassins.

With the additional wounds from before on the student, and the experting skills of the assassin droids, success wasn't promised. But if she didn't succeed she'd either have to give up or die. The droids at times stood completely still like the trees themselves, and at other times
bounced wildly from tree branch to branch.

Allara spoke in the Vongsense to Raksha, turning the amphistaff from a quarterstaff to a whip. The serpent's body became limp, aside from where she held it. She listened out for the machines, until she heard joints of a droid move behind her. She snapped her amphistaff whip at the sound, the creature's semicrystalline structure ripping through the contact with durasteel.

Kiara's own presence moved away from the scene and to her dirt hut. The next droid swiveled it's head and whipped a blaster into it's hand's place, sending stray uncalculated bolts of stun to hit the young witch. The other, the one hit, was fallen back on it's branch and falling down into the muddy waste's below.

Allara jumped out of the tree to clear herself of the stun fire being shot her way. She eased her landing with the aid of a Force Push against the ground, landing on her feet. She twirled Raksha in its whip form, ready to lash out like viper. She attempted to Force push the droid that had fired at her, aiming in the general direction of where she had seen the stun bolts fly at her from. She kept sensing, just to be sure.

Without so much as a warning - the assassin droid was falling from an unknown push. As soon as it hit the ground, it and it's brother got up and marched their way back to the hut. Kiara shook her head from inside, making notes on an empty datapad she cleared specifically for her little witch. 'Disappointment is the only word I can describe her failure. Force push and a snake whip. Attempting test two. Next page.'

Kiara waited for her witch to come back, forming a tiny frown on her face.

Allara felt accomplished, but felt that the task was far too easy. She returned Raksha into its staff form, petting its head as a sign of affection between owner and pet. She walked herself back to the complex where her teacher was awaiting. She could tell almost instantly Kiara was displeased. "I'm going to guess by the scowl on your face that I did not pass the way you were trying to teach me."

"If I was always pleased with your work, there would be no point to teaching you. Simply smacking and pushing a droid off a tree will not harm it. These ones could have jumped back up and killed you." She looked into one of the lenses of the droid, then back to Allara. "But at least tell me you learned something in the time?"

"Yeah. It was a reminder of the old phrase 'be mindful of your surroundings'." Allara replied to her mentor,"And you have a point. I'm using just Jedi techniques. I could have used the Force to crush and damage their heads, and thus their processors."

"Well if that's what you made of the lesson, we'll have to try again and again. For now, I want you to carry me to your ship. Use your hidden rage to fuel yourself, and all of my weight, while balancing a lightly Force inside of you to sense out for your vehicle." She quietly reached to the side and pulled out a blindfold, and a piece of additional cloth. "Put these on, lift
me up, and go."

"Ok. I understand the blindfold." She said, but held up the other cloth that was given to her. "But what am I supposed to do with this?" She did not even start to put the blindfold on with wanting to know what the other cloth was for. She figured she attached it to her body somewhere, but she was not apparent in what or where it was to be put.
