OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Organization Name: Task Force Slice Hound
  • Classification: Army
  • Affiliation: Galactic Alliance
  • Organization Symbol: The silhouette of a Corellian slice hound replacing the stars of the Sector Ranger Emblem
  • Description: Task Force Slice Hound is a detachment of ex-CorSec meant to serve with the Sector Rangers to deepen the Confederations relations with the rest of the Alliance.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Headquarters: Corellia | Coruscant
  • Goals: The goal of Task Force Slice Hound are in line with the Sector Rangers, to combat crime across the galaxy and within the Galactic Alliance. However since members of the task force are members of the Corellian Security Force, they will perform operations that will serve Corellia's interest more than that of the Alliance.
  • Reputation: The task force is pretty well known in the galaxy, overall a very neutral perception befits their status. There is some friction within the Alliance, especially the Judiciary that sparks a sense of anxiety. Because they are trained with a CorSec background, other INTERSEC squads are nervous to work with Slice Hound due to their difference in training and background. But their expertise in law enforcement and counter terrorism make them ultimately reliable.

  • Army Size: Small. The Task Force is meant to be a specialized INTERSEC unit consisting of the best of CorSec. Members of this unit are agents with notable experience in counter terrorism and law enforcement, hand selected by a group of CorSec and INTERSEC officers.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Since Unity Day and the creation of the Galactic Alliance, the Sector Rangers were integrated into the Alliance's wider law enforcement network. Their purpose was to be an intergalactic agency to combat crime within and beyond the Alliance's borders. To bolster their ranks, many INTERSEC agents were hand selected from different agencies within the Alliance. One of these agencies was CorSec. Slice Hound at this point hadn't existed but the culture of INTERSEC was heavily diverse and there was friction amongst different agents who had been trained under different law enforcement academies and styles. As an example it was difficult for a CorSec agent to work with a Coruscant Police Officer. A uniformed academic standard was created to unify INTERSEC and lessen the tension and friction between the agents. This shift in INTERSEC policy had caused a lot of agents to leave and rejoin whichever agency they left which lead to a lot of wonder as to whether or not INTERSEC was practical.

Overhauls to INTERSEC policies were made and the agency had come to a conclusion. INTERSEC would provide in-house training to newer or less experienced law enforcement agents while openings would be provided to more experienced agents of different law enforcement agencies. These openings were limited so as not to have the issues of tensions and confrontation. With having highly experienced agents within the organization, INTERSEC could confidently dedicate resources to more risky operations. CorSec reached out to INTERSEC and collaborated with them to form a task force of experienced CorSec agents to become Sector Rangers. Thus, team Slice Hound was created. They didn't receive much in the way of training, except for a review of INTERSEC protocol and regulations. Slice Hound is one of the few specialized task forces within INTERSEC and they normally don't perform ops with other ranger squads but will from time to time if the op requires them to.
